As always my experience with Dr. Cox was superb. He is always very informative and caring to when it comes to my health needs and concerns. When I leave my visits I always feel at ease and know that he cares about my well being. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Cox is one of the best doctors I’ve seen, I wish he was my primary care doctor! He’s extremely informative and truly cares about his patients. I had a flare up and needed to be seen and he was able to get me in the next morning. Highly recommend!

We came here for my husband’s vasectomy and absolutely regret it. My husband was in AGONIZING pain during his procedure. When he told the staff, the nurse asked the doctor “should we give more lidocaine and wait?” And Dr. Cox said no, that it would kick in. The lidocaine did not take effect until my husband was being sutured. He felt everything. I CANNOT IMAGINE putting a patient through this kind of pain. I have been with my husband for 11 years and have never seen him in so much pain, and he’s been through a lot. My heart is shattered knowing what he went through, knowing that his nurse tried to advocate for him, and knowing that he was ignored. He is still in agonizing pain now while he recovers, to the point where I’m very worried something is wrong. But is there an after hours line to call for help? No. Were we given a copy of post operative instructions? No. The staff at this facility was fantastic. But I am APPALLED at the care my husband received from Dr. Cox. I will be sure to let everyone know to NEVER go here.

Dr. Cox. Is an excellent Doctor. He is very informative, and he genuinely cares about his patients. Today he made me feel as if I was talking to a friend and reassuring that all will be well with me and my diagnosis..

This was my first visit to Urology Centers of Alabama. Dr. Cox is very knowledgeable, thorough, and helpful in addressing my health issues. He is an excellent physician! Also, the staff is very professional, personable, and so kind. Thank you for a very productive appointment.

DR Cox was great today as usual. He explained what he was doing very well & what he found from the test. He explained the next step so that I could understand it. I must note, the equipment for today’s procedure has greatly improved since last time. Didn’t hurt a bit. Im thankful for that and for Dr Cox & his assistant, Jessie.

Dr Cox is thorough and answers all questions, friendly and professional. Assisting staff and CT department are excellent, as well. Definitely worth traveling an hour from Boaz to get some answers. Highly recommend.

Dr. Jason Moellinger is one of the finest physicians I know. He is warm, kind and competent, listens and answers all questions. He never rushes you, and is reassuring. You know that you are in good hands with him!

Staff was very helpful. Dr Hamrick is such a caring and kind Dr. I have been a patient of his for many years and have never had any complaints. There’s not many physicians left like Dr Hamrick.

Dr. Hamrick has a great bedside manner. He is a good listener, communicator. Clear on what he thinks he or his staff need to do in order to work you up. Gives you clear answers regarding your condition and what needs to be done to get better.

My husband visited Dr. Leon Hamrick today and learned from Dr. Hamrick that he will need laser surgery to remove the stones in his bladder. This has been a recurring condition for more than thirty years.My husband has been treated by other urologists in the past. Dr. Hamrick is by far superior to anyone else who has treated him. Many people in the medical profession have told my husband that Dr. Hamrick is the best, and he absolutely is the best.

Great doctor. Minimal waiting time. Very nice nurse. Check in and check out ladies very nice and efficient. Have been seeing Dr Moellinger for approximately 15 years. Always spot on with my needs.

Dr. Hamrick has been my urologist for many years and I can always count on his expertise to handle any issues that arise. I have recommended him for years to family and friends. After moving farther away from Birmingham last year, I have continued to see him on a regular basis because I have utmost confidence in the care that he provides.

Dr. Hamrick and his team were wonderful to me. As a very anxious woman also in the midst of her first pregnancy, he was so kind to me, answered all my questions, and put my mind at ease. Big thank you to Dr. Hamrick and his sweet nurses!

I am 72 years old and have seen many doctors. Dr. Hamrick is by far the best of all. He is always professional and courteous. He has always been very thorough and has always exceeded my expectations since I moved to Birmingham in 1998. For me he was a lifesaver when I was hospitalized after hernia surgery in 2003 and when I had prostatitis in 2011. It’s always a pleasure to see Dr Hamrick.

I had a problem with urethral stricture disease that had played me since I was 18 years old I am now 71 Dr Hamrick was recommended to me about 15 years ago and I have seen him as my urologist ever since. He is a fantastic doctor very thorough very kind and very considerate. From the time of my first visit my urethral stricture problem has been managed in a fantastic way and I have had no further significant problems because of it! I will be sad to see Dr Hamrick go when he retires but I’m certain we all have to do that at some point in our career. I can’t say enough good things about him he has really changed my life for the better one of the best doctors I have ever known!

Just had routine follow-up appointment after kidney stone treatment last year. Hope I never have another stone, but if I ever need a urologist again, I am thankful to have Dr. Hamrick on my team!

Dr. Hamrick goes out of the way to make his patients comfortable. Especially during embarrassing times.

Dr Persell is fantastic. Very understanding and takes a personal interest in his consultations. Very pleasant. I would recommend him to anyone. Getting through to actually talk with dr. Persell is like a going through a land mine field.
His secretary might give the needed information, but it feels like you’re intruding in her day. And I have told her so twice!! And also added her phone attitude was bad. When I expressed maybe I should go somewhere else she didn’t skip beat and said I’ll send your records.
I discovered via talking with dr Persell about the delay in PET. He was very gracious about explsinjbg the delay.
I know he is out of town for awhile. That’s fine. But when I was asked did I want to leave a message for dr Persell, I stated my message. Secretary interrupted I’ll have him call you!
– I was asking about my calling to the surgery scheduling date. During consultation he said give them a week to call me and if not hear from them call the following week. I did as he mentioned and scheduling had not heard of me.- so called as mentioned above.
I asked would he call back – I was afraid it would just be her again- (?) (by this time I doubted he’d get the messsge.) her response was
“I don’t know” (?!!) was she saying Dr Persell doesn’t call back?
Again I would recommend dr Persell to everyone. But Dr Persell, your phone person needs phone etiquette training.
I was very upbeat till I received attitude. I then explained what thought about hers. I hope oh how I hope that all phone calls are recorded.

AGAIN DR. PERSELL IS VERY DOWN TO EARTH, UNDERSTANDING, TRUSTWORTHY, AND SKILLED
I trusted him before my consultation and even more afterwards. Front window office assistants are super. But give phone secretary phone etiquette or better yet, let her hear herself and how she comes across.

I think he was professional, but not overly sensitive to me as an individual patient. My first time was not awful, but more of what to be expected of the examination would have been helpful to prepare for this visit. I understand he was swamped this day, but individualism still matters.

My doctor is Mr.Matthew Purcell, very intelligent ,informative,and accommodating. Answers all my questions without judgment or prejudice and made me feel comfortable talking about male things. My Grandmother Elizabeth Harris helped train him in his younger days so it’s good to have good ppl like him still around.

Dr Purcell provided Excellent care. We appreciate his friendly expertise, and will recommend him to others!!

Dr. Strang takes the time to sit down and answer your questions and is never in a rush! He is very personable and wants to know about you as a person. Great doctor and staff. Doctor Brewer seems like a good person in general. It made the uncomfortable procedure more comfortable. He was quick, detailed, and answered all of my questions. The nurses still had good attitudes and smiles middle of the day and checked on me throughout the process. I went as a referral from a friend who recommended him as a good doctor as well.

I had a very good experience with Dr. Brewer. I had an appointment to get a second opinion. He was very knowledgeable and showed genuine interest and concern for my situation. I did not feel rushed in any way during my appointment. I am considering Dr. Brewer for my primary doctor.

I always have a good experience when I come to Dr. Brewers office. From the front desk to the nurses and Dr. just has a way of making you feel relaxed when he’s talking to you.

First off, Dr. Brewer is at a top-notch organization Grandview Medical Center all of my doctors are at Grandview primary care, cardiologist urologist I’m very pleased. It’s worth the trip to Birmingham but as for Dr. Brewer, it was my first meeting. I was very impressed because he came across as a real doctor. He talked to me very personally and explained how things worked and let me know there were no red flags and to come back in six months and we’ll keep an eye on things, and it was very comforting and enjoyed the experience very much

I had kidney cancer on the lower part of my right kidney Dr. Brewer removed it and I have had no problems since. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a Urologist.

Everything was good. All employees were nice, the waiting area was comfortable and the television made the time waiting fly by. I waited about an hour, but that’s OK.

We have had a first class experience with Dr. Baumgarten as a urologist. First class communication, patience and care/compassion over and above expectations. His staff was a joy to work with on insurance handling, scheduling and random questions.

Phone call harassment. Edit in response to their reply: I never said I was the one who is his patient. I handle the affairs of one of his patients. We have no issues with Dr. Baumgarten, but his staff has been very stressful to deal with. On top of that, they are lying on here saying they have never called me.

Dr. Baumgarten is not only an excellent urologist, but a kind and caring one as well. It is hard to find all of these qualities in a physician these days. Highly recommend!

Dr Bivins in my opinion the best urologist around the south. He performed my wife’s surgery for kidney cancer using robotics. She has recovered well and sees Dr Bivins yearly for scans. Dr Bivins is kind, compassionate and qualified.

Dr. Niven’s cared for my brother and, we found him to being very kind ,caring and compassionate. He spent a great deal of time with him and explained all his options for care. He more than met our
expectation’s as a physician. I am sorry other patients had a less than positive experience in his office.

Dr. Bivens was respectful and professional while performing my procedure. He gave me confidence in his skill while being friendly and empathetic. The office was clean and all the staff were kind. I can happily recommend them.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Bivins since June 2018. My experience with his practice and the staff is superb! They are always on point. The wait in appts. is not long and if its going to delay they will alert you. UCA is very caring and professional. Thank you so much!

I have seen Dr. Bivins approximately 10 times over the last year. Each time I have seen him he has been kind and patient. He even “added me on” to his surgery list once because I was in pain and he didn’t want me to have to wait and be in pain over the weekend. I would definitely recommend him.

I had a serious problem and I’d called them to confirm if they could help me. They said they could help me with my personal issue, so I’d schedule an appointment and go there. After a 12+ hour drive, I got there and then said there’s nothing they can do about my personal problem. Now I have a 500+ doctor’s bill because they lied, and I’d gained nothing from this BS. I did email them to see if we could work something out, but they didn’t even care to respond.

Dr Tracey Wilson is great. However, UAB is so ridiculous with pain pills. I asked her if I was going to be in pain after surgery and she lied and said no. I know this to be false, because my cousin had surgery and they refused to give her any pain meds that helped her. The pain was excruciating for her. I’m about to have the same surgery but the place I’m going to is much better about making sure your not in pain before, during, and after surgery. UAB has great equipment and smart doctors and they diagnosed me with a rare disorder that nobody else could figure out. If your lost then go to them and they will figure out what’s wrong with you. However they are too strict with pain pills so keep that in mind when getting surgery with them. I suggest you go to UAB for diagnosis and then somewhere else for surgery and procedures.

Tracy Wilson was very rude, she wouldn’t let you ask questions, she basically said we were there because our son’s problems were a inconvenience to us, we’ll never go back to her again, maybe if we were a different color she would’ve been more friendly

The nurses and staff were so sweet and helped to soothe my nerves about my procedure.The Dr on the other hand was abrasive,rude,and condescending to me. I won’t be going back.

It took me a while to make an appointment with them; 2 days before my appointment, they change called me to change it without a reason and no one called me back to for the new appointment…I left voicemails and I’m still waiting with pain
