Bacchus Bar

An oasis hidden below the mayhem above. We visited on a quiet weekday night and stayed until closing. Super selection of beers and good service. Decor is imaginative but in a Michelangleo Greek renaissance theme. That’s my best interpretation but would recommend trying the bar. Sadly I will not get to experience the bustle of a weekend it was a good night.

Ambiente molto suggestivo, un pub ricavato in un antico locale gotico, quadri e ornamenti ovunque. Si ordina al bar, sia da bere che da mangiare, ed una volta pagato, le portate arrivano direttamente al tavolo che hai scelto. Servizio veloce, i piatti non erano granché, le salsicce di maiale erano insulse ed il panino niente di particolare oltre che piccolo. C’è una vasta varietà di birre.

Had a great Sunday evening dinner here. Really unique decor and cozy atmosphere, staff were friendly and attentive. Food was nice and the menu had plenty of good options. We booked using FirstTable for 50% off food, so we got very reasonable prices as well. We didn't get any drinks, but there was a wide variety at the bar. Overall, highly recommended!

I always visit this bar when I'm in Birmingham,it's really beautiful inside,tucked away underground by the Burlington hotel. Nice friendly staff,drink price's are high,but it is a big city.I'll order some food next time,as they looked like they had a lot of nice things on the menu.

Popped in for a pre-theatre dinner. Love this place with its brilliant atmosphere and great food. Had the pie deal which is great value and my rabbit pie was delightful. Great service from staff, especially a gentleman with a distinctive Mohican style hairdo and earrings who was super helpful

Been here before years ago on a friday night when it was lively and heaving. This time I visited during a quiet daytime. It's a striking place to be in terms of decor. They serve some fantastic beers on tap, and are also good for a coffee. They made my wife a lovely cappuccino. The service was superb and friendly. I know the place must be good when my wife talks about going back there again. It's a shame we had elsewhere to be, as we could've happily spent a couple of hours here.

Love this place! Full of atmosphere and theatre, top range of drinks and service stop on. This bar is under the Hotel and as such you can't get a mobile signal so everyone is talking, socialising and there's no annoying phone use. I didn't eat here so can't comment on the quality, but the menu looks pretty comprehensive and eclectic. It's not the cheapest place to eat and drink but it's full of charm, and pseudo history.
