ODEON Luxe Birmingham Broadway Plaza is a top-tier cinema that takes your movie-going experience to the next level. The moment you step in, it feels like a treat—modern design, clean spaces, and an inviting atmosphere. The real magic happens inside the screens, though. Every seat is a luxurious recliner with plenty of legroom, so you can fully relax while watching. The sound and visuals are incredible—crisp and immersive, perfect for films like Moana 2. It’s a great place for families, couples, or even solo movie nights. Plus, their snacks and drinks selection is solid, from classic popcorn to more premium options. If you want comfort and quality for your cinema trips, this is the spot.

Management need to manage their staff properly at main entrance. Got there 20 mins before my movie and nearly missed the intro. Only because they left one member of staff to sell tickets on a long queue for which it looked like she wasn’t to sure what she was doing as if it was her first day and they thrown her in the deep end with no help. Mean while there was like 7 people at the collections bit moving around like spaghetti some of them looked ideal.

Used to frequent this cinema a lot many years ago when it was still an AMC. Was pleasantly surprised at how much it’s been updated.
Watching a movie in isense with a decent screen, superb sound, & the recliners up is great. I think that even though there’s another Odeon a lot closer to my home, I’ll be going to this one more often for the premium screenings.
It’s worth noting there are many screens, and a lot of the others are most likely just basic ones, but I won’t be coming here for those, so I’m unable to comment on them. Also worth adding that the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful.
I used the metro to visit, which stops nearby at Edgbaston Village, but there is a car park which is free for 3 hours if you get it validated here.
Dal

This is just one of my favourite cinemas that I visit with family, the nachos and popcorn os good. The seats are comfortable and overall the service is decent.
The toilets always seem to be dirty, never been and the toilets were actually clean. If they fix this, they probably get five stars.
Nandoosh

Premium formats here are probably some of the best in the country. The other screens are still good, but have a lot of flaws. If you don’t have limitless, I wouldn’t recommend coming here at all. Cineworld Broad Street, albeit without recliner seating, is just round the corner and is much cheaper. The experience here will also differ massively depending on what screen you are in.
Screens 2 and 3 are the premium formats, iSense and Dolby Cinema. The projector in iSense has had a significant drop in picture quality and contrast recently. The screen size and sound are still fantastic. Dolby Cinema is one of the best cinema formats I’ve ever seen a film in. The technical accuracy in the sound system and picture quality is unmatched and is truly outstanding.
Screens 1 and 4 are also located downstairs but are just standard screens. The picture quality can sometimes be a bit fuzzy and the brightness of the screen is a bit too dark, but once again the screen size makes up for it. Not as big as 2 and 3, but still very large compared to other cinemas.
All the other screens are upstairs. These screens are much smaller. The picture quality can be questionable just like the downstairs standard screens. Some of the upstairs screens are also not fitted properly and have ripples in the corner of the screen. Most of the seats upstairs also have rips in the leather armrests which feel horrible when you rest your arm on them. Lots of broken mini tables too. Despite being so modern and luxurious in its design, the entire place feels like it’s fallen into a slight state of disrepair. This is especially noticeable upstairs. The escalators are often broken too, and the lift feels proper sketchy. It’s also worth adding that Broadway Plaza isn’t located in the nicest of areas. There is always an air of hostility around the area. Definitely not somewhere I’d like to be at night.
If you can’t tell from this review, I come here a lot, and because of that I’ve seen all it has to offer. With all its flaws, I can only recommend the premium formats. Unless you have limitless, the standard screens are just not worth the money.

We have been going to this cinema monthly for about a year now and today was the most horrible experience. We took our little 6 year old big Sonic the hedgehog fan to watch the new movie. He was very excited. And he asked if we could get him the special Sonic cup with a topper. We literally spent 30 minutes in the queue behind just one couple with 2 kids. 30! minutes took them to make 2 slushes, 2 milkshakes and 2 nachos!!! That is unacceptable! But to top it off we did not get the cup because they have run out of the toppers!!!! There were no information available that they have run out and all the adverts around the tills were showing them as available to purchase! Shame on management who do not care! We even had to pass the info to other families standing with their kids in a queue wanting to get the nice cups with their favourite characters! Very disappointed little boy and the family!!!

Yesterday i was sat in theatre 15 and it was absolutely atrocious. Underneath all the seats was popcorn and food and dirt, as well as some seats they didn’t even bother taking the bin bags off them. All over the seats they had stains on them and popcorn. It was extremely disgusting and off putting. Cinemas like this make me want to revert back to watching at odeon even though the prices are cheaper here the quality isn’t there. When they finally complained instead of noticing all the other dirt in the theatre and cleaning it they just got a young staff member to wipe the chairs down with dry tissue paper. This was extremely disappointing and made me want to leave the cinema immediately. Throughout the movie I felt thoroughly uncomfortable and disgusted. It was not only just the theatre that was atrociously dirty but also the outside. As soon as i stepped upstairs the movie theatres pungent smell attacked my nose and was extremely off putting. This immediately was a sign to go home. Overall I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed as the movie theatre was a place to enjoy yet now i won’t be returning and am absolutely horrified about their lack of hygiene and cleanliness.
Alaina Akram

Has spacious theatres and good food as well ( quite expensive though ). The screen size is fine and depends on which screen you watch the movie. However, the sound quality is average. Some are too loud and some are just too mild. It does not give you the best theatre experience, sound wise.

I’ve consistently frequented Vue Cinema at StarCity in Birmingham, finding it consistently excellent. Its proximity and easy car access enhance the overall convenience. The numerous well-maintained screening rooms offer a diverse selection of movies. Payment options, both at the desk and online, provide flexibility. The punctuality of movie start times is commendable.
The facility maintains a high standard of cleanliness, with a welcoming entrance room featuring light architecture. The video and audio quality consistently meet expectations, providing a satisfying cinematic experience. The pricing structure remains reasonable, catering to various budget constraints.
The presence of a well-stocked bar, offering a variety of food choices such as popcorn, hotdogs, and nachos with diverse flavors, adds to the overall appeal. Vue Cinema at StarCity delivers excellent value for money. Appreciation extends to the team for their commitment to maintaining a thriving cinematic experience.
The Red Fox District - Cycling Workshop

They do not make fresh popcorn on site. We brought two boxes of popcorn and they were dry not sweet at all whatsoever and they were rubbery.
I’m still shocked at how awful the popcorn tasted. I’ve been to other cinemas and we’ve had fresh sweet popcorn made there and there on the spot. I literally saw the staff members bringing huge clear plastic bags full of popcorn and pour it into the glass container if I could give reviews, I would, complete waste of money buying popcorn from this place is best to take your own

This used to be a superb place many years ago, especially for date nights, but it seems to have had a bit of a decline.
There’s a decent cinema to catch films in, but not as much variety in places as there used to be. I think it would impress first time visitors though.
There is a good sized underground car park, and it’s very easy to get to on the tram.

Broadway Plaza in Birmingham, UK, is a leisure and entertainment complex located just outside the city center. It offers a mix of attractions, including:
Vue Cinema: A popular multiplex cinema with multiple screens showing the latest films.
Bowling: Hollywood Bowl provides a fun bowling experience suitable for families, friends, and groups.
Gym Facilities: There are fitness centers like PureGym for those looking to exercise.
Restaurants and Cafes: Dining options that cater to a variety of tastes.
Entertainment: Other attractions such as adventure golf and amusement arcades.
It’s conveniently located with good transport links and parking, making it a favorite spot for both locals and visitors to the city. Let me know if you’d like more specific details about any of its amenities!

Nice cinema but no dining options. The pub/restaurant has been closed for a while and not been replaced. Some enterprising company should take advantage.

Movie theater is amazing. Very comfortable chairs. Sound was amazing . Accessible bathrooms
Mufida Abubakar Sadiq

Really nice complex with ample parking and some nice activities to do. You can validate parking if you do some of the activities. However, in the last few months there has been an increase in antisocial behaviour. Plenty of beggars harassing everyone, asking for money and following people, cornering, going into shops and being a nuisance. Doesn’t feel like a safe space anymore. I even saw a homeless guy trying out the car doors in the car park. So make sure you don’t leave anything valuable on display.

The renovation has really improved the whole cinema experience. The seats are so comfy and spacious now- with recliners and your own table! You are not too close to the people around you either which is a big bonus. Defintely think its worth paying extra for a cinema trip when its so good!
Deb Lovesthis

Lovely cinema, used to go a fair bit when it was Empire years ago. However a combination of being a spidey fan, the summer holidays and my wife’s mobility not being good persuaded me to buy memberships back at the end of July. Glad I did, we have used the cinema most weeks since then. Great staff (especially Amanda, who was really helpful taking my young daughter to the toilets for me during the renovations). Lovely seats, and great films!
John Boone

Nicely Refurbished. Love the new layout, more spacious and little table with drinks holder on each seat. We booked the reclining seats and they were worth every penny! Super comfortable and great to lie back in and watch the film. Food is pricey but Cinema food has never been cheap. Will definitely go back and enjoy more films in comfort.
David

I understand that it’s a new franchise that’s taking over, but wouldn’t it be a great start to open the venue when it’s completed? It’s really a shame as you walk in. There is work being taken place. Hammering, drilling, and dust particles hovering in the air. At 2 points, we could hear hammering through our viewing, which was shocking. Popcorn is stale as it’s been sitting under the heat lamps for too long. Unfortunately, I gave this place two opportunities but not a third sticking with my regular cinemas going forward.
P.s. the seats are nice and comfy
H

The IMAXX screen is gorgeous, and we love lounging on the beds on the front row. Food and drink are very expensive though, almost becoming not an option at the cinema at all. I’d advise bring your own treats/drinks.

Cinewolrd at Birmingham Broad Street is absolutely wonderful place to watch movies ..
It’s a bit shame this place doesn’t have any super screen, recliners like other places but still having IMAX, 4DX is also a kind of great compared to others
Unlimited pass allows to watch as many movies as you wish and having advance tickets and watching movies in iMax with a small uplift price makes me so happy
Not to forget the 10% discount with unlimited card is also like a bonus
Jaswanth Ainala

Astonishingly good cinema that makes travelling into the city centre to see a film more than worth it. IMAX is incredible and much better than the one at Empire Great Park (now defunct). The seats are incredibly comfortable and the standard screens are really decently sized. Prices are not too bad. IMAX can be steep but is worth the extra money. It turns literally any film into an event. Would 100% recommend this cinema over any other cinema in the West Midlands, including ODEON Broadway Plaza just 2 mins walk round the corner. God I love this place.

Place was lovely and clean. Had the large popcorn , hot dog and 2 large drinks £6 pound of using my cineworld unlimited card , would recommend everyone to have one, great discounts. Free car parking in car park up to three hours, just have to put your registration in the cinema machine, when you return to the car park you just put ur registration in ticket machine. Will definitely go back again.
Deborah

Good cinema but with a very busy lobby area. Ticket prices are a little on the steep side, but it’s got a very good IMAX & 4DX set up. The location makes it great for a date night, with so many bar & restaurant options nearby. It’s easy to get to, as it has a car park, and also public transport stops right outside.

Best place to watch cinema, I lost count of how many movies I watched here because of unlimited cinepass. But my major complain is the escalators do not work most of the time. Hoping Cineworld to fix this, otherwise this is personal location to watch movies

Customer Reviews
It’s not very often i give one-star reviews, but considering how hurt i am, i think it’s just. I have feelings some have said, and Imax at Cineworld at Resorts world in the middle of nowhere has hurt every one of them.
Went to see Across The Spider Verse. i was really looking forward to seeing the film and Resorts World itself as i had never been before, and it was a great chance to check out the imax there. Cineworld has an imax closer to me, but its at a smallish venue that doesn’t seem to equate to the extra monies being transacted considering its no imax Leicester Square so i was hoping that being in the mighty Resorts world would make the difference.
If i were to describe the world of resorts, i would say it’s a cross between an aircraft hanger and a modern-day office block full of glass and steel. Not very appealing as it turns out, but i was here for the film and the glorious imax presentation that Cineworld was putting on.
As always super friendly and helpful staff ready to offer help if needed with anything from parking to tickets. The cinema was nothing to jump and shout about either only the familiar branding around the place letting you know what they were actually peddling. They had seemed to opt for digital posters rather than actual ones. Maybe its just me but a place that sells two and half hours of pure imagination with a hint of wonder and magic thrown in should be as focused if not a little more focused on selling the tricks to dazzle us with rather than the food for us to graze off.
Where is the love for the cinema itself? It’s like now it’s a one-off treat rather than a must-have activity. Where is the comic con feeling when the big blockbusters come a round? where were the Miles Morales cardboard standees for people to pose with?
The free Spider Verse cards were a nice touch and im always happy to get things for free off a cinema when its cost me £4 for the daysaver £21 for the ticket and £4.50 for the food which i brought from my local shop because i would’ve been laughed at if i had’ve had the cheek to try and by popcorn and a drink from the cinema itself
There was a cabinet that had things inside from movies that were out or coming out, but it didn’t scream,’Look at me!’. You should have many more cabinets with toys or props. Lego sets of films out or coming out being built in the lobby area or cosplay events put on by cineworld.
Now you’re probably wondering about the lady in front with her feet up on the occupied chair in front of her. The feet stayed up even when the absolute gentleman in front left and came back (never moved them once) The “lady” and her friend Alcohol had decided that the screening had been put on for them and them alone. A directors commentary is one thing, but when you haven’t made the film and the alcohol makes you hard to understand, it’s probably best not to speak over it. Its hard to concentrate on a film when someone has no respect for the people around them.
But why shouldn’t she? Cineworld dont really care about the theatrical presentation anymore unless you’re eating, so why should she.
Nathan Stewart

Went to see Garfield on 03/08/24.
There was a slight technical problem with the screen. The staff were brilliant. They were apologetic and tried to sort it. They kept us informed of the progress and options of refund and compensation etc.
In this world technology breaks, we understand that. It’s the service provided when the technology goes wrong that makes a difference.
All involved at Cineworld were brilliant.
My children and I will happily go again.
david hubbarde

This cinema has the nicest screens in the area, and for big cinema aficionados there is the option of an unlimited card to watch unlimited movies on standard screens.
Lijo Varghees

Wicked in screen 1 last night, they didnt turn the lights off and screen itself looks dirty or old. Huge distraction trying to watch the film.
It was so bad it looked out of focus.
Jack Marshall

One of the best cinemas in the West Midlands if you visit the IMAX. The big screen picture is so much better and the sound is amazing!!! It can get busy in the evening but generally not too busy during the daytime because of the location and the decor of the cinema is modern and fresh and its always nice and clean there. It a pleasure to visit everytime.

I recently visited Everyman Cinema in Birmingham with my family, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and were incredibly friendly. They went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect for us, making it a truly stress-free outing.
The cinema itself is wonderfully family-friendly, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made my child feel right at home. The seating was so comfortable, more like a luxury sofa than a standard cinema seat, and it really enhanced the experience for everyone.
The menu was a big hit too! We loved being able to order delicious food and drinks directly to our seats—such a unique touch. It’s perfect for families as you can relax and enjoy the movie without interruptions.
The quality of the screen and sound was superb, and the whole experience felt like a premium, yet relaxed, treat for the entire family. Everyman Cinema Birmingham truly knows how to create a memorable outing. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

A fun place for a date. You get to enjoy your movie in a couch and be served food while watching it. However, the price is too expensive. What made me very mad was the amount of ADS you have to watch even before the trailers. If I’m paying almost 20 pounds for a movie I don’t think that amount of ads should be allowed. It was almost 30 minutes of ads. This is not ok in any cinema but what upset me the most was that I payed for an experience and had to sit watching them for a long time.
Gabriela Luz

Fantastic cinema in the Mailbox. Large and aesthetically pleasing bar area as you enter. The tickets are expensive in comparison to Odeon, Cineworld or Star City/Vue but worth it for a good film as you get to sit on comfortable sofas and they bring food and drinks to you. Picture and sound quality are also good but not as loud as some cinemas.
Raja Bains

I’ve given 3 stars as the food beats standard cinemas hands down.
If I could rate the comfort separately I would only give a 2 , the sofa type seating isn’t comfortable no reclining chairs.
A standard cinema is more comfortable
dawn ashburn

Great cinema if you want to treat yourself to some comfort and a cosy up with someone special (they have sofa seats for 2, as well as single seats). Tickets aren’t cheap, but it’s more of an experience than just going to see a film. We’ve seen two of the National Theatre Live shows and though it can seem odd to watch a play on the big screen, it’s a great way to see theatre if you couldn’t make it to the live event in person. We haven’t ordered food there but the menu looks good and we may well do in future. Staff friendly though seem a little flustered when delivering the food and drink.

Terrible. Staff are extremely rude. Cinema is extremely dated and poorly designed. Smells damp. Extremely dirty. Multiple broken toilets, seats, etc. Screens are not flat, are tiny, and the seats are so far off angle that you get an incredibly warped view. Avoid. Get a refund.
Jack Peters

I don’t usually give negative reviews here but this cinema shocked me, especially for one in such a big city. We were in Birmingham for the weekend and decided to watch Moana 2.
(Bare in mind we pay £5 in Wrexham Odeon which is a lovely cinema, so the low price has nothing to do with the awful experience we had)
Firstly walking to the screen was like walking to a basement and was very old and tired.
The auditorium was awful, stains all over the walls and uncleaned from previous movie. We paid £3 extra each for premiere seats, these turned out to be no different to the regular seats apart from a headrest. One of the seats we had booked was broken and hanging off so we had to move. They were also so low that the headrests in-front covered half the screen.
The cinema also has zero sound proofing, meaning you can hear every sound from the people around you. The sound and screen quality was also bad.
Two groups walked out, one before the film started and the second half way through. We stayed as we didn’t want to waste our money and we had no other plans for the evening.
This is the worst cinema experience I have ever had and there was nothing enjoyable about it apart from the movie itself. Unless this is only possible option for you to watch a movie, I would not come here.
Ella Harriet

For a budget cinema, it’s pretty fantastic.
For reference, I’ve actually been to both an expensive cinema( Luxe Birmingham Broadway Plaza) and now a budget one.
For budget experience, I was rather impressed. Obviously, it’s cheaper, only £5 per ticket rather than the £12 I paid at Broadway. Both have nice seating with plentiful restaurants for snacks. The seats aren’t as comfortable but the screen size is the same.
In summary, if you only care about the movie and nothing else like I did with Dune Part Two then this is a great choice.

I used to visit this cinema quite a lot with my mates in the late 1990s, so for the sake of nostalgia, I thought I’d take my wife here. I will never hear the end of this.
The screen room we were in was incredibly dated and underwhelming, so in a way, I got more nostalgia than I bargained for! We were there to watch a film with a 3½ hour runtime that had been out for 11 days. Around 1 hour in, the film began to freeze and pause, eventually crashing. Not dissimilar to a buffering stream.
We were given the option to either stay in hope of them getting it going, or leaving and accepting both a full refund and guest passes. Everyone in the room opted for the latter. The passes are good for imax showings in better Odeons, so I was happy with that, despite not seeing the film.
Staff were great, can’t really fault their service and they handled the situation well. They’d also offered my wife a lot of freebies for films unrelated to what we were watching, and this was before we’d gone in to the screening. I doubt I’ll ever return to this branch though.

Customer Reviews
TLDR: good venue, good prices, good films.
Great little cinema showing wide variety of films and events (such as movie marathons, late night screenings, and themed events) at very good prices. Friendly and relaxed staff. Comfy little lobby although it can get a little crowded in winter as people are less likely to sit outside. Wide range of hot and cold drinks – including local beers – and snacks for such a small venue. Often a small, fun selection of cocktails. Always a good time in the big screen, and screen 2 was great and very comfy when a friend hired it for a private screening for a birthday party. They have since updated the screen 2 seating as well (pictured). Recycling facilities are available in the corridors. Screen 2 and the lobby are all level access. I think screen 1 is level access but access to the toilets is down steps unless you go through screen 1 (I may be mistaken – please contact the venue if you need to check). The place is a bit of a rabbit warren but the signage is very good.

What a brilliant venue! Our first visit last week to see the Commitments movie and live band. It certainly won’t be our last. Comfortable seating and great visuals. The auditorium was cleared during the interval to create the dance floor. All very impressive, and great service from the bar team with a good selection of drinks at very reasonable prices. Everyone was super friendly and Lee was an absolute star, going above and beyond to help us secure tickets. Cannot recommend highly enough.

First time visiting both the Custard Factory and the Mockingbird Cinema for the all-day Twilight movie marathon. I loved it! The staff were friendly, films were great and the chairs were comfortable. The room was a little bit too warm but that can’t be helped. I think I may have found my new favourite spot.

Went to Solve Along Murder She Wrote this evening. Such a great atmosphere and really entertaining. Great little cinema in the heart of the Custard Factory in Digbeth, I really like the area. Membership packages available that work out for some great savings just check out the website.

First time visiting here for a fantastic James Bond event. Double feature, meet and greet with Bond girls, Lotus Esprit parked outside and live music. It was all so well organised. The screens were intimate and comfy (not a bad seat in the house) and the staff went above and beyond to make sure customers were happy. I’m looking forward to visiting again soon.
