I had the pleasure of attending Rickey Smiley’s karaoke event, and it was an incredible experience. This was my first time seeing Rickey Smiley in person, and he certainly did not disappoint. The karaoke participants were equally entertaining, making the evening truly memorable. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and look forward to attending again in the future.

The atmosphere was up-beat and pretty good. 4 stars only because the show started pretty late than expected. Line was long to get in but moved pretty quickly once doors were finally opened. I would recommend reserving seats pretty early. We reserved at the last minute on the day of, and our seats were up high in the last row, but that was expected. We had already eaten, but drinks were pretty good, and the food being served looked pretty good.

The facilities are great, and the customer service is wonderful, but the food I ordered was mediocre at best, and they require everyone to buy 2 items. My seasoned fries were good, but my burger’s consistency didn’t taste like 100% beef to me, and my fried mushroom appetizer was bland & full of breading so I’ll give the food & drinks a C. That’s why the 4 star rating: 5 for service & facilities, but 3 for the food.

Above and beyond what I expected!!! The customer service was outstanding and the food was G.R.E.A.T!!! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

My sisters and I went to see Steven Ho last night. He was hilarious! We all had a great time. The food was delicious! I had the loaded fries and my sisters had the wings, nachos, and brownie. The drinks were really good too. The only disappointing things were the fact that you had to purchase merchandise to meet the comedian, we didn’t find out till we had been waited in line and got up to the front to meet him, but I think that was the comedians policy not the facilities. The service was really really disappointing though. We would have ordered more food and drinks but we barely saw our server! My sister didn’t get her last drink till the show had ended and then we had to sit and wait while everyone else was leaving because we hadn’t gotten our cards back. I have been a server for many years so I understand how it can be busy but, aside from the initial two times when we ordered our first drinks and our food, we had to try and catch her attention as she passed by to order more, otherwise I don’t think we would have seen her at all the rest of the night. We’re planning on giving this place another try, my sister wants to see a comedian coming in September, so hopefully the service will be better next time. Otherwise I doubt we’ll be back again.

Great location and great venue.
Always good for a more close up intimate evening up close with performers.
Always love that fact that food can be ordered to where you’re sitting. And to be fair the food is really good value and very nice for what you might not normally expect at clubs.

Always enjoy good comedy and music here for reasonable prices.

Whilst attending a show I lost some jewellery. I contacted the venue the next day explaining the situation and the staff were kind and diligent in locating it and returning it to me shortly after (extra special thanks to Chris!). The show was excellent as well!

First time at the venue. Wine is awful but not that expensive considering! Lots of choice on taps. Didn’t eat there but the food looked decent. Chairs and tables are very basic. Staff efficient. Watched Sarah Keyworth and they were absolutely brilliant, I was crying with laughter. Great night.

What a great pub the Pat Cav is..a real social hub in Moseley. Get here early on the comedy night to be sure of a seat but don’t sit on the front row unless you want to be mercilessly grilled by the compare… Great night out but can get a little blue at times. Great night out and well done to all those involved in setting this up

Very enjoyable evening at a price point that works for everyone. Great acts, mix of new and established.
It’s held in the upper room of a pub and the informal and friendly atmosphere help the acts to relax and interact will with the audience.
Pleased to have found this comedy club and will certainly be attending regularly.

We’ve been (semi) regular bums on seats at Jay’s gig for a few years now. Jay manages to book some top headliners but is also awesome at bringing in new talent. He has built up a club with a great rep and it’s always a pleasure to come along and do photos for him.

Moseley is blessed with some great pubs and amazing food. It is now blessed with a great comedy night as well. Have been there many times and the organiser hand picks quality talent (including TV acts)
Have never left disappointed.

One of the very best comedy nights in the region (and we watch a lot of live comedy). Always great quality performers and a good bunch of regulars in the audience without it being in any way unwelcoming to new arrivals. The current crop of Edinburgh Fringe previews is really good and you will probably pay £20 to see the same two performers at the festival. No advance tickets so you contribute what you think it was worth on the way out. Jay politely recommends a fiver each but it’s worth more.

The pub is ok as well, with a decent jukebox. I’m always driving when we go, so can’t comment on the beers but they have a few decent ones there. Combined with a very interesting and tasty (try the Chili Cheese Toast and Aloo Tikki Chat) meal at Zindiya a couple of doors down and you have the basis of a really good night out.

A really good and FREE comedy night in the centre of Birmingham. It’s held in a nice bar called Sommar and there was a great guy called George who was the M.C and throughout the evening, 3 other comedians came on. There were breaks in between each act, with George coming back on to engage with the audience and introduce the next act. We thoroughly enjoyed it and we highly recommend it for a good night out.

The atmosphere is inviting and the selection of comedians showcases a diverse range of talent that keeps audiences engaged and entertained. With a well-organized venue, it certainly makes for a memorable evening.Convenience is also a plus, as patrons can enjoy drinks from a private bar, ensuring minimal disruption during performances.

Went here last night with friends to see some comedy … never again it was just awful! The comedians not good. The only good one was the compare who was introducing the acts. The chairs were so uncomfortable , no draft beers only bottles. We even got asked to be quite very rudely! we was just talking quietly. Then had a hot dog that cost £5 it was cold and the bread roll I nearly broke my tooth on it , as it was that hard. The venue was not a good atmosphere. We left half way through the last act as couldn’t take anymore.
I would NOT recommend a waste of money and a big disappointment!

Attended this venue on Saturday 21st just before Christmas. Not all acts that were advertised were on that night. The show also started more than 40 mins late. We arrived at 7.45 and the show didn’t start until nearly 9 o’clock. People were getting bored and walking out. I wouldn’t recommend it at £40 a ticket. Go elsewhere for a good laugh.

Just the Tonic Comedy Club is a commendable destination for comedy enthusiasts seeking an enjoyable night out in the heart of the city. While the location on Broad Street offers vibrant energy, it does pose challenges, including limited parking options and a busy thoroughfare that may impact accessibility.

The venue itself is thoughtfully designed, with effective lighting and a well-structured stage that enhances the performances. The lineup of comedians we experienced was impressive, showcasing a range of talent that kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout the evening. Additionally, the availability of a private bar provided convenience, allowing guests to enjoy drinks without disrupting the flow of the show.

However, there are notable areas for improvement. The seating arrangement was less than ideal, with chairs that were uncomfortable and positioned closely together, which hindered relaxation and comfort during the performances. This aspect of the venue could benefit from reconsideration to enhance the overall guest experience.

Despite these seating challenges, the quality of the performances and the inviting atmosphere make Just the Tonic Comedy Club a venue I would consider revisiting. With some adjustments to the seating configuration, this comedy club has the potential to elevate its overall appeal. For those in search of an evening filled with laughter, Just the Tonic is a worthwhile option, keeping in mind the seating limitations.

I had a fabulous evening at Just the Tonic’s comedy evening. I didn’t really know what to expect and booked the evening last minute. Great event with a good crowd and some fantastic comedians. I would definitely go again. Good venue and atmosphere. Only little niggle- I was driving and the alcohol free beers were a bit on the hefty side at nearly seven quid. Next time I’ll know and leave the car at home 🙂

Decent club situated on the main entertainment strip. Spacious inside for the comedy night, some pretty good acts too.
Soft drinks reasonably priced alcoholic ones, well it’s central Birmingham so as expected.
Staff all seemed friendly and nice, would’ve stayed for the club night too after if we didn’t have to get back.
