Rosies – Birmingham seems to consistently face issues regarding its door staff. Reports suggest a lack of proper training leads to inconsistent enforcement of entry policies, and concerningly, sometimes aggressive interactions with patrons. The atmosphere could be enjoyable, however, the experiences shared indicate a need for significant improvements in staff conduct and management of patron safety.
The club’s reputation is unfortunately marred by allegations of deceptive practices, particularly concerning promotional offers. It appears entry fees are not always honored as advertised, leading to frustration and a perception of unfairness. It’s vital that the venue prioritizes transparency and establishes reliable communication to avoid misleading customers and foster customer trust.

I had such a bad experience yesterday at Zinc, at Rosies last night. I went out to have a drink opposite Rosies and wanted to go back to Zinc as my kizomba social usually finishes at 4 am. It was exactly 3.04 and the bouncer told me I’m not allowed to go it anymore. I asked why and he said it’s bar’s policy. I had to ask a friend to take my stuff with them as I wasn’t even allowed to get my stuff back. He was rude and raised his voice at me as I was just trying to resonate with him. Not a good night unfortunately

The bouncers were completely untrained in their approach to “safety” Having an adult grab a young girl by the throat isnt a great look on you rosies. Was watching some people get kicked out at around 3am and it escalated very fast and security got physical very quickly.

SCAM!!!!
Given a promotion voucher for £4 entry, got there and charged £10!!!! to get in because ‘the vouchers aren’t working’
Absolute scam targeting vulnerable young people out drinking, got to be illegal / definitely dodgy!
Beware if you’re using vouchers from people off the street to get in – also poor workers expecting commission but getting nothing if their vouchers aren’t being used??
AVOID…

I’ve been coming to this club for years and always make a point of saying hello to the security staff on my way in. Unfortunately, my recent experience has completely changed the way I see this place.
While waiting in line, one of the security guards asked who I was with. I explained that my friends were already inside, but he told me there was no solo entry and said I’d have to leave. I tried to clarify again, but he ignored me. When I said “yo excuse me,” he snapped back, telling me not to speak to him like that.
At that point, another staff member who usually stands out front stepped in. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, he repeatedly told me that if I didn’t like what the security guard said, I should just go somewhere else. The way he spoke came across as dismissive, like he wasn’t interested in hearing me out at all.
What really stood out was how he kept smiling while speaking to me, as if he found the situation amusing. Then he started looking at me like I was the problem, speaking down to me in a way that felt very condescending and looking at me like I was crazy.
When I asked him about it and why hes smiling, he simply said “that’s how I speak to people.” I told him directly that if that’s how he speaks to people, then he’s not representing the establishment well
For me, the issue isn’t just the no solo entry policy it’s the way it was handled. Instead of showing any professionalism or respect, I was spoken down to and dismissed you could tell he couldn’t even be bothered to speak to me, as though my respect and loyalty to the club meant nothing. And everytime I tried to come to a understanding he kept telling me if i got problems with the security guard go somewhere else. So that’s exactly what I’ll do
The funny thing is ive had numerous conversations with this guy over the years at the club and been respectful but its clear respect means nothing to the people at rosies they care more about having a security guards back then trying to understand and speak to there customers who support the business absolute shame
Be careful as they’re the kind of security guards that will protect eachother even if they are wrong they could careless about the paying customer
I’ve supported this place for years, brought countless friends, and promoted it heavily to others. But after being treated in such a disrespectful and unprofessional way, I no longer feel welcome. Sadly I won’t be returning.

If there was an option for zero stars, this place would deserve even less.
My night at this so-called “nightclub” was nothing short of appalling. From the moment we arrived, we were met with the most unprofessional, arrogant, and downright hostile staff I’ve ever encountered.
The doormen behaved like power-tripping security guards at a prison gate—condescending, cold, and completely full of themselves. They acted as if letting people in was some kind of exclusive privilege they were bestowing upon the unworthy masses. When we approached, they barely looked at us, muttering snide comments under their breath, laughing amongst themselves like a bunch of high school bullies on a power trip.
We came dressed properly, excited for a night out, and had already paid £30 each for entry. But the staff made it clear we weren’t welcome. No explanation. No reasoning. Just the most dismissive and infuriating response: “It’s just how it is tonight.”
That’s not a policy—that’s an insult.
When we tried to get clarification, we were talked over, mocked, and ignored. One staff member even rolled his eyes and walked away mid-conversation like we were beneath him. The attitude was so disgusting, I honestly can’t remember the last time I felt so deliberately disrespected in a place that calls itself a business.
This wasn’t just bad service—it was blatant arrogance, unprofessionalism, and a complete lack of human decency. It was like they took pride in ruining people’s nights.
Avoid this place at all costs. There are hundreds of better venues where you’re actually treated like a paying customer instead of a nuisance. I will never set foot near this joke of a nightclub again, and I strongly advise anyone with self-respect to do the same

It was a really good show from the Dreamboys. And they were all nice and were respectful of boundaries especially that I was not that very comfortable since I wasn’t used to that kind of show. But my friends and I had a blast. Special mention to Chambers for being extra kind and polite. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing place! Came all the way from Portugal and it was the best night out I have ever had in my life! Super friendly bar staff, bar was looking very busy but we were served immediately. Arrived around 9 pm and dance floor was busy. Very clean toilets which was surprising for the night club. Good and cold drinks – you can definitely taste alcohol and range of drinks is incredible! So many different flavors of vodka and shot range was amazing. Would recommend !

We go there tonight.the security guard said you are not allowed inside.I asked what’s the reason first he get angry and said don’t ask me question and then he said you are not allowed because you are and single. Then we staying there for a while we seen too many single persons go inside. He was disrespectful and racist. I kindly request to the manager and owner to ask this guy why he doing this to people.

I pre-booked the karaoke room for 2 hours and then a booth with 4 drinks packages for what could only be desribed as a small fortune. The karaoke room was hot and smelly and the floor was sticky, instead was 30 degree heat outside and inside the room there are no windows, no aircon and was not even a fan although the club itself was cooler. Although the music selection was vast the volume of the music was so low that the majority of the time the music outside the room overwhelmed it with some tracks not even being able to be heard. One out of the two microphones wasn’t working, we told the bar staff twice but nothing was done. We then went out to the booth and at the bar we ordered additional drinks packages but took an hour and a half and 3 reminders to staff to come to the table and it arrived warm. The coordinators were nice but seemed very busy. I would not book kareoke there again, its very expensive for the rubbish experience we had.
The club itself had a good selection of music but the bar felt completely overwhelmed and being served for a drink was taking 30minutes at a time which eventually caused our whole party to get fed up and leave very early which is a shame because we spent a lot of money in there and we have really enjoyed coming to this club in the past!

Only giving 2 stars for the bouncers at the front door who were great. Got in with no problem and went to the toilet when we first got there. Being disabled I have a disability key for the accessible toilets which I used as the ladies queue was so long. Upon getting in there though the toilet was completely blocked and out of use so I told a security guard that was near the toilets. However he took my radar key from me (that I was given by the NHS) and disappeared??? I went to speak to the bar staff but they had no idea where my key went. I waited about 15 minutes for them to keep coming back and forth not knowing where it was, all whilst I was desperate for the toilet (and I clearly have a key for a reason but no one seemed concerned by this whatsoever) I decided to give up and speak to the bouncers at the front who were lovely and gave me one of their keys and I left to find somewhere else as it was a complete lost cause talking to anyone inside. Please do better for your disabled customers. It’s not like we’re asking a lot for an accessible toilet so we dont have to wait in the massive queue. Please train your staff better/be more aware of this and why people may be using your accessible toilets, especially if they have a key, they have it for a reason and definitely don’t expect their key to be taken away from them!

I am so angry. The bouncer on tonight exploited his power and disallowed my entry to the club for being single, on my own, with no woman (in his words.) This has never been a problem before and why should it now. Only last week i visited on my own, on a saturday night and it was not a problem. For some reason, tonight was. And when management showed up, they said it was because i caused hassle. OBVIOUSLY! When i was denied entry, i stood my ground and disagreed with their reasoning. I did step aside eventually and waited patiently for management. I doubt anything with be done from my email and review because they always stick by their bouncers. But this is a massive injustice!

Our new favorite place is Tbilisi, what you accomplished is something truly special, the environment is cozy, not too big, not too small, the candles, the tables by the window, the music not too loud. Snobs is just a place where I could see myself going multiple times, either with friends to have a drink and catch up or with my partner to have a romantic evening while we try the cocktails and share some appetizers, even if you want to have a full dinner they have amazing pastas.
I would highly suggest to try the cocktail Hyppolita, it was our favorite, the cocktails you see on the pictures are AI IA, Hyppolita, Green and Milk Kingdom.

My daughter was having a great night here until someone sexually assaulted her 29/08/25. A guy stepped in to help her and was beaten up and ended up in the QE. Your bouncers stood by and did nothing. Wore a white beanie to this bar and was removed twice for no good reason other than I was an easy target. The bouncers were pleasant however they still saw me as an easy Target to remove due to them being easy to spot me. I was with at the bar with friends and my partner who asked about me and they pushed her to the side and told her to leave the establishment, overall unpleasant experience, for all universities do not use this place as it does not welcome people who are in for a good time and will separate couples without good reason

The most disgusting place i have ever been. Fire exits blocked..piss and water all on toilet floors.. exposed electrics on hand dryers. Sobar in the Arcadian is hands-down one of the friendliest bars in Birmingham! The atmosphere is buzzing without feeling overcrowded, the music keeps the energy high, and the bartenders are absolute stars warm, welcoming, and always up for a friendly chat while mixing great drinks. Was having a lovely night with my boyfriend , our first time in Birmingham and even though it wasn’t full at all , the atmosphere was nice and had lovely bartenders and most security were okay .
Only one security guy ruined the end of the night for us for shouting at my boyfriends face ” because he is too tired” and he got a reaction.
Shouldn’t be shouting at clients that were enjoying the whole night without causing trouble , just because you had a long day at work.
I work as a bartender in a very busy nightclub and I have never shouted at one last costumer ( especially knowing they been having drinks) for wanting more drinks even when we’re closing down , I stay calm and still politely tell them it’s closed , I don’t start shouting “GO HOME” at them because I had a long shift.
Hopefully he works on that so clients don’t react that way anymore. Rest of the security were helpful and respectful to my boyfriend.
So overall was a very good night but the end bit.

What’s wrong with the bar staff? Club empty on a Saturday and they were just chatting and leaning on the back of the bar. Stood there like a lemon, not one of them came forward but I did get a head nod as if to say “what” whilst he still leant on the back of the bar. Honestly what an attitude Left not long after that.

XOYO Birmingham appears to offer a unique space for events. The architecture itself seems promising, potentially lending itself to a memorable atmosphere. However, reports suggest inconsistent experiences, especially concerning event management and security protocols. A strong focus on safety and equitable treatment of attendees is crucial for creating a welcoming environment for all.
From what is suggested, a potential issue lies in the level of accountability and professionalism demonstrated by the promoters and security personnel. Ensuring consistent, respectful interactions and swift resolution of any issues would significantly enhance the overall experience. A clearer communication channel to address concerns and maintain a higher standard of conduct is also essential to allow for positive guest experiences.

Had a great time here on a 70s disco afternoon event, started at 4pm to 8pm, so perfect. Drinks are limited from an ale and beer perspective hense the 4 stars. The venue is what you’d expect. With some good outside space.
The DJ was really good and played some brilliant 70s bangers however only 1 chic song which was disappointing. The prices and fairly standard for this type of venue in the city centre. The dancers were also pretty good.
As it was a 70s event the music suited our group, over 40s. All in all a great time.

Reposting due to my original post being hidden. Absolutely horrendous, security physically assault anyone they can, made my friend bleed and refused to get management or give security license numbers when requested – all over us doing nothing!!! My friend sat on the side of the stage (like many others were) and rather than being asked politely to get down, security all jumped my friends and got multiple of them in head locks and chucked them out of the back door – NEVER go here !!! (When waiting outside to get our jackets etc, which they refused to let us get, we saw person after person come out saying that they had been kicked out unprovoked by security). CAMERON – HEAD OF SECURITY is the one who started the aggressiveness and got my friend in a headlock. Also, for reference the man with the hat on in the photos attached tried to offer my partner out down a back alley and started on an innocent girl (not me) getting in her face and staring her down – very scary experience and security should be losing their jobs

The venue itself would probably have been nice but because it was so uncomfortably hot with no fans, it was intolerable. Its appearance is nice to be honest but drinks are very expensive in my opinion.
The real let down was the promoters of the event (rooftop takeover) that I attended because while they seemed to be upholding the rules of the premises to a strict standard, it because apparent as the night went on that actually favourites were able to get away with anything!!! Hugely disappointing and if the choice is my own, I have no intention of returning to be ridiculed in such a manner.
Bar staff were actually pleasant as were the security to a degree but still 1 star due to promoter and his staff who did/did not implement rules fairly.

Went here to see High Vis and really enjoyed the venue. The sound and lighting were excellent. Only downside was that they ran out of tap beers.

Went here for a drum and bass event tonight and for some reason the security there especially the 6ft 1 tall balled guy who’s a juiced up turkey who apparently says it’s “his club” in which case is a lie absolutely body a group of people just to feed his ego and get his little bit of adrenaline was straight up bang out of order and not needed. He could definitely do with some communication training or re go over his security training where it teaches you to de escalate situations. Ironic really. Guard with one eye was really nice and I could understand where he was coming from as he was just the fella at the gate. The fella in the picture also was abusing his powers but he just avoids communicating and stays by the door.

Always read reviews before making plans to go anywhere. The low stars have all been the most honest reviews with XOYO Birmingham.
Go at your own risk. Highly dangerous place, the crowd management, the staff, the food, the drinks, and the costs don’t align. They falsely advertise the events with skyline views and spacious areas, only to keep sealing off sections until the crowds are packed into a small section of the venue. The fact that they have not been permanently down already is very surprising.
If you’re looking for a good time, this is not the place. Avoid it if you value your time, money, dignity, mental and emotional health.

Went here for the Elder Emo Summer Party event. Security was very good however when we got to the venue there was not alot of space for people to dance or stand. Being that it was catered for an elder crowd, there should have been more seating areas. And the only other thing was there was not much of a drink selection, considering we spent £17 on 3 drinks which were all cans. Overall, decent music and security but let down by the lack of space and drinks.

Lab11 offers a unique and memorable experience for those seeking an alternative event space. The atmosphere is electric, focused on enjoying the music and connection with others. Security measures are clearly in place to ensure a safe environment, and the staff generally provide a professional presence that contributes to feeling looked after during your time there.
The venue itself prioritizes the music and shared atmosphere, which results in a distinct character. Drink prices are reasonable, allowing attendees to focus on the music and socializing. It’s a place where people go to enjoy a specific kind of event, prioritizing the sound system and the overall community vibe. The event organization is clearly well-planned.

We went to Lab11 to see Roger Sanchez and we had a time! Security is tight but all the guys were professional, I felt safe the whole time we were there and I didn’t witness any hostility at all from staff. Lab11 is an authentic rave warehouse so certain areas are a bit rough and ready but it is what it is. It didn’t feel overcrowded and there weren’t too many phones out – mostly bc it was a slightly older crowd actually enjoying themselves. Drinks are reasonably priced and we hopped straight into a taxi at the end of the event. I would go back for sure.

Went to a concert at Lab 11 and it was awful. The venue was massively overcrowded with no room to dance. Staff were extremely rude — when we accidentally went the wrong way to the toilets, instead of politely redirecting us, one woman started shouting and even threatened to call security. Reception staff were just as unprofessional.
Easily one of the worst venue experiences I’ve had. I’ll never come back and don’t recommend it to anyone.

It’s a warehouse, and some of it is outside and inside so I understand that not all of it is going to be pristine.
But the toilets are so dirty here.
When I asked for some hand wash, I was told there wasn’t any. There’s hundreds of people there with no hand soap!?
The toilets are also too small for the capacity of the venue. I know they have multiple, but one set was closed even though the place was rammed.
The girls on the bar are lovely, great service from the staff. I really like the layout of the place, and it was a good event.
But the toilet accessibility and hygiene definitely needs to be sorted.

Great venue, although security kicked us out instead of the people next to us who were fighting. Got the wrong people although despite telling them it wasn’t us, they proceeded to be rude and say ‘we don’t have time for you, get out’ and continued to aggressively push us out. Security need fixing up, ruined our night!

Kicked out loads of people for no reason just trying to have fun and used the excuse ‘ too drunk ‘ when there was literally 50+ people in the same way, minding their business and having a laugh not doing anything illegal despite some people actually doing so. Bit of a shame considering we bought tickets. They also made a big fuss about security and having dogs but overheard people walking through bragging how easy it was too get stuff in so that isn’t great either. Shame

Absolutely awful experience at Lab 11 today. There was literally no space to move – packed beyond comfort. Singers/DJs should think twice before coming here because the venue clearly doesn’t know how to handle the crowd. There needs to be a maximum limit on the number of people allowed in, but clearly money comes first for them. On top of that, the staff were extremely rude and unhelpful, which just ruined the whole night even more. Never coming back.

Worst experience ever at Lab 11. The place was rammed with no space to breathe, let alone enjoy. It felt like they just kept letting people in without any thought for safety or comfort. Singers/DJs need to realise this isn’t the vibe – it was chaos, not a show. Channi Natan, Inderpal Mogha, Miss pooja please be considerate enough. My bra was sweating so much heat too many people Staff were rude on top of it all, talking down to people like we should be grateful just to be there. Total waste of time and money.

Mango Night Club appears to offer a unique experience with its curated music selection, leaning towards Afrobeats and related genres. They seem to cater to a particular palate with their food and drink options, providing a culturally relevant selection that many patrons would appreciate. It’s a venue that sounds promising for those looking for something a little different than the usual offerings.
While prices for drinks may be a deterrent for some, the overall impression is one of a well-managed space suitable for gatherings and parties. The club’s staff appear attentive and the sound system is impressive, contributing to a potentially enjoyable atmosphere. The establishment’s focus on specialized music and food makes it a distinctive and potentially successful venue.

Customer Reviews
Went to this nightclub with my friends, and it was a huge disappointment. According to their opening hours, they should have been open. This was a Sunday night (9pm-4am) we arrived at 11:00pm but when we arrived the place was completely closed. No sign, no notice, nothing. It caused a lot of problems for our night out, since we planned around coming here. Very unprofessional and unreliable. I definitely won’t be coming back in the future, and I can’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a dependable spot to go out.

Positives:
1. very good music, a good mix of afrobeats, raeggae dance hall and a bit of R&B and techno.
2. Vast options of edibles which an African would really appreciate because we love to have our drinks chewables. They have suya, shisha etc…
Negatives:
1. Drinks are very expensive. JD and coke for 10 pounds while JD on the rocks ( with coke) was 7 pounds. Not like entrance was even free. Compared to other places around, that’s not cool
2. Charging an entrance fee of 10 pounds for a place that was scanty isn’t encouraging for a return. Saw about 5 people at the door who went elsewhere because of the entrance fee. I don’t mind paying that, but paying that and your drinks are still expensive isn’t good enough.
But in all, the music is great making it worth the time and money spent.
