MidlandsGrizzlys offers a truly exceptional dog training experience. The focus is clearly on building a strong, positive relationship between owner and dog, rather than just teaching commands. The team’s approach fosters understanding and provides owners with the tools they need to confidently manage their dog’s behavior and address specific challenges. It appears their methods prioritize a well-rounded training solution.
The emphasis on canine psychology and individualized attention is particularly impressive. It creates a supportive environment where dogs can thrive, regardless of their individual temperaments or prior experiences. The commitment to consistent, positive reinforcement is evident and leads to remarkable progress and noticeable improvements in both the dog’s and the owner’s confidence.

Have completed the obedience and the off lead training with Adam, and it has made a massive difference to our Romanian rescue dog Bramble. Amazing difference even after the first lesson, and the off lead training has been a revelation. Bramble is so happy when he is off the lead, and so am I as I know I can control him, but still let him enjoy himself.
Sessions were always enjoyable and Adam makes effort to give individual feedback to all, as well as giving useful nuggets of information on all sorts of aspects of dog ownership. Socialising with other dogs made a big difference too, from tiny dogs to very large!! All added to the overall experience.
Would highly recommend.

I can not recommend Adam and MidlandsGrizzlys highly enough. From the very first session, it was clear that this isn’t just another dog training company — it’s an exceptional service that combines deep knowledge of canine psychology with real, practical training methods that actually work.
I have now trusted Adam with two of my dogs, each with very different temperaments, personalities, and needs. What impressed me the most is how adaptable and skilled Adam is in tailoring his training to each dog as an individual. Both of my dogs have completed the Obedience Programme, and the results have been nothing short of incredible. The transformation in their focus, behaviour, and responsiveness was clear from the very first few sessions.
I am now enrolled in the Off-Lead Programme, and once again, Adam’s expertise and patient, structured approach are shining through. The level of control, trust, and communication he helps you build with your dog is second to none. He doesn’t just train your dog — he teaches you how to understand and work with your dog on a deeper level, which makes all the difference.
Adam’s professionalism, passion, and dedication to the dogs is evident in every session. He strikes the perfect balance between firm, fair guidance, and encouragement, ensuring that both you and your dog feel supported every step of the way. His ability to explain canine psychology in a way that owners can understand is invaluable, and it gives you the confidence to continue reinforcing the training outside of the sessions.
It’s no surprise to me that MidlandsGrizzlys is rated among the top 3 in the UK — they absolutely deserve it. Adam has exceeded my expectations every single time, and the progress I’ve seen with both of my dogs has been life-changing.
If you are looking for dog training that truly delivers, with a trainer who genuinely cares and goes above and beyond, Adam at MidlandsGrizzlys is the one to trust. I would never go anywhere else!! I Honestly can’t thank them enough.

CHARLIE AND ELLA.
We couldn’t recommend Adam more!
We were at breaking point with our dog’s reactivity and aggressive towards other dogs, whilst he was on lead- we had to avoid dogs at all costs- walking the other way, or hiding in a bush, until they went by, distracting with food/ toys, 50 different types of lead, we tried everything! 60 out of 61 dogs, he would react towards and we couldn’t work out why. Was he scared, was he dominant? We had no idea how to fix him. We were at the point of we can’t do this anymore… The embarrassment we felt each time and the worry he would just keep getting worse. I remember feeling overwhelmed at some of our first sessions as we were desperate. We worked with 3 different trainers before Adam and no one was able to fix Charlie’s problem.
BUT NOW, We have a completely different dog and now maybe 1 in 60 dogs he reacts too but only if the other dog reacts to him first.
After the reactivity programme, we did the off lead programme, which has meant we are able to have him off lead, running around living his best life.
We went on holiday and had them off lead on the beach at all times and had no worries about having control of our dogs- which allowed them to enjoy freedom
Furthermore, Adam has given us the skills and knowledge to train our 10 month old puppy. She is a dream… no long lines getting tangled up…
Not saying we didn’t have to put in a lot of hard work and time in, but a million percent it has paid off. With the support, encouragement, critique and pointers, during our sessions. Knowing what to work on week by week, gave us goals to reach. It has completely changed our lives.
Thank you so much Adam.

After only 2 home visits and one 1-2-1 off lead session, we’ve seen incredible improvements with our 8 month old working Labrador. Currently strolling round the lake district without a worry. Adam’s help has been brilliant and delivered immediate results. Cannot fault one bit. We’ve signed up for the obedience class and will move immediately onto off lead once completed. Would highly recommend Adam if you’re looking for fast results and excellent service

An outstanding trainer who delivers exceptional results. Adam’s expertise in dog behaviour and training is clear from the very first session. He has an effective, no-nonsense approach that works wonders. After completing his obedience and off-lead course, our whippet pup is incredibly well-behaved. A wholehearted recommendation for any dog owner seeking a top-tier professional. Can’t recommend him high enough, totally exceeded my expectations!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I found Adam at Midlands Grizzly’s when desperately searching for behavioural support for my dog, who was struggling with severe anxiety and reactivity. At the time, she had been placed on high doses of anxiety medication and I was deeply concerned about relying on that long term.
Even after just the first session with Adam, I felt something I hadn’t in a long time – hope. Hope that my dog’s anxiety could genuinely improve and she could live a calmer, happier life and that my own confidence and technique as a handler could grow too. Adam’s calm, structured approach and deep understanding of dog behaviour and psychology gave us both exactly what we needed.
By the end of the initial session, my dog was calmly walking around an incredibly large group of other dogs (most of them much larger than her too) something that would have been completely unimaginable before.
The training environment is professional, supportive and focused on real-world results. I wasn’t just given advice – I was taught how to lead my dog with clarity and confidence.
I’m so grateful to Adam and the team at Midlands Grizzly’s and I cannot wait to see the impact of our future sessions over the coming weeks and months. If you’re facing behavioural issues and want real, lasting change – this is where you go. ✨
Bonus: She slept the entire 1-hour drive home… and for the rest of the day! Usually, she’s frantic, panicked and a panting mess whenever we go in the car – so that alone speaks volumes.

Our dogs first training day with Adam at MidlandGrizzly’s
We could see the difference in our dog within the two hours we were there.
He’s very polite and knowledgeable in all aspects of Dog Training and how to get the best from your pet.
Lots of other Dog owners on same training ground with all types and breeds of dogs, everyone we spoke with said that Adam had been fabulous with their pet, and themselves, teaching owners how to look after, and how to behave around their own pet
Highly recommended just from our first visit.
Fabulous 2nd training day for our Bailey, he’s such a different dog from a few weeks ago.
Thank you

Fantastic cat sitting service. I’ve been using kitty angels for a number of years and the service is always excellent. Easy to book, clear communication and confirmation. Updates after every visit with photos/videos. Our cats are super happy with kitty angels and they definitely prefer the visiting cat toys to the ones we have at home! I would highly recommend.

We have been using Kitty Angels for many years for various cats. We are always impressed with the care the Angels give – not just feeding but playing and spending time for fuss and cuddles. They give updates for every visit and the photos are lovely and you can see that your precious pet is safe and happy. Full marks – we wouldn’t use anyone else.

We have 2 house cats who we’d tried leaving with a cattery in the past. They were very unhappy and anxious in an unfamiliar setting, and one of them even stopped eating! Cue Kitty Angels to come to the rescue!! Our beloved cats ars well cared for in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. Each visit includes playtime and enrichment activities. Best of all is that we get daily pics and videos, so we can see just how happy and relaxed our pets are. Highly recommend using Kitty Angels

Brilliant service all around and great value for money.
I booked a cat sitting service for 4 visits over 3 days. My cat (see attached photo for cuteness) was fed on time each day and given treats and attention to ensure she wasn’t lonely. I was sent multiple photos during each visit to put my mind at ease and so I could see she was being looked after. The sitter came to meet my cat beforehand to befriend her which was a great thing to do and when I came home she was happy and healthy and perfectly looked after. Her litter tray was clean and her dinner bowls had even been washed up.
I have booked to use the cat sitting service again already and I will be using We Walk Woofs for all future cat sitting as I am so impressed with the quality of service I received.

Sharon has been walking our pup for 8 months now. She’s been brilliant. Always very flexible as our timings and days change every week, and completely reliable. Sharon and Dave were fantastic and very professional when we needed our dog, Oscar, to be looked after when we went away at short notice. Dave came and met Oscar and made a big fuss of him; Oscar responded really positively and willingly went out for a walk with Dave straightaway. While we were away Dave came to feed and walk Oscar several times a day and as an added bonus he also made sure our house was secure. The whole experience was really positive and we would not hesitate to use We Walk Woofs again; we would highly recommend them.

Booked Sharon in to care for our two cats, one a relatively new rescue cat, whilst we were away for a week. We couldn’t be happier with the service. Amazing service from Sharon and Dave. I have 2 wonderful pooches but they just do not walk nicely together. On a normal day Dave walks one while I walk the other, he is really flexible. The boys are both devoted to him, he’s like part of the family. I get regular photo updates and I can see they get to go on really fun walks with other doggies. It’s clear to me they’d rather go for a walk with him than me! Fabulous to deal with.

I have just collected my dog from Vanity Furr after her first visit and I am so pleased. The groomers were lovely and did a great job. They asked what I wanted and did exactly what I asked, listened and took note of my dogs habits. When I returned I was greeted by a very calm dog who had really enjoyed being pampered, spoilt and cared for by a team who truly love animals and their job. We look forward to returning again soon. Thank you so much.

What I don’t understand before we moved Symba Chow Chow went to Tails of Brighton for his bath, cut, claws and groom he was gone all afternoon.
This morning he went to Vanity Furr and was there 40 minutes, he came out still wet and not sure and slippers or sissors have been near him except for where chunks of fur has been chopped out .
She claims she couldn’t do his paws or claws as he wouldn’t stand up.been he is 13 years old ! but why could they not have been done whilst he was laid down.
The only concellation for today was I was told £65 and I only paid £45.
But he won’t be going again and I wouldn’t recommend…
As you can see on the photos he’s got chunks missing and left long straggly bits all over.

I had been having a hard time finding the right groomer for my cats, but I’m so glad I discovered Vanity Furrr. From the moment I walked in, Laura and Kian were incredibly welcoming and made both me and my pets feel comfortable. I noticed how gently and attentively they cared for every cat that came through the door, not just mine, which really showed how dedicated they are to their work. Their professionalism and hard work truly stood out, and honestly, they deserve recognition (and a pay rise!) for the effort they put in. I couldn’t be happier with the results—my cats came out looking spotless, fresh, and so well-groomed. I would absolutely recommend Vanity Furrr to anyone looking to pamper their cats. Thank you so much, Laura and Kian!

I can’t say how highly I rate Sherrie. She went above and beyond – driving from Kent to Aberdeen to collect my rescue springador and then all the way down to Southampton and back to Kent. She was so mindful of the dog’s needs and kept me updated all throughout her journey. Please use Sherrie – it truly is bespoke.

I could not recommend Sherrie more highly! She transported my 10 week old Bernedoodle puppy Stevie all the way from Cornwall to north east London yesterday. I had text photo and video updates from Sherrie all through the journey and was able to track her progress through WhatsApp which was very reassuring and really helped me plan my day. Sherrie was so kind and caring and genuinely loves dogs and Stevie was completely at ease when she arrived, despite an 8 hour journey. She stayed a made sure Stevie was well settled and it was lovely just to chat and helped put me at ease. Thank you so much Sherrie and Pete A2B for making a slightly nerve wracking day so much easier!

We recently moved from London to Sheffield, and one of our biggest worries was how to get our cat, Beanie, there safe and sound. We’re so glad we found PetsA2B – Sherrie was an absolute lifesaver!
From the moment Sherrie picked our cat up, we knew she was in great hands. Sherrie had everything set up – a comfy crate with a bed and litter tray – and took the time to settle her in before setting off. Along the way, she made sure to check in on Beanie, even spraying her bed with a natural calming spray to ease any nerves.
One of the best things was the live tracker she set up via WhatsApp. Being able to follow their journey in real time was so reassuring, and she also sent little updates after pickup and during stops, which really put our minds at ease.
Not only was Sherrie incredible during the trip, but she also provided valuable tips before and after transport to help our cat settle in smoothly. Moving house is stressful enough, but thanks to her, bringing our cat along was the easiest part of the whole process.

Honestly can’t recommend Sherrie and PetsA2B enough. Brilliant communication every step of the way. We loved the live tracker and had confidence in the whole set up in the vehicle. Neville made the long long long journey from Bedfordshire to Aberdeenshire and arrived happy and not at all stressed. He’s settled in beautifully in his new home. Absolutely worth every penny. If you love your pet don’t even think about handing them over to anyone else – just book PetsA2B. You can trust them!

Stopping on the journey for a cuddle and water. You can clearly see Sherrie adores animals and that they are in the best of hands with her. I wouldn’t dream of using anyone else in the future. I highly recommend Sherrie. I loved that she had a tracker on her route which she shared with me . I could see where she was the whole journey. Fantastic service thanks Sherrie. Sherrie is an absolute Gem. Her communication beforehand was superb and she arrived early. Marley took to her immediately, he is very lively and Sherrie made him feel relaxed.
The journey down was very smooth, the use of Cruise Control meant that Marley was settled all the way, and we arrived in plenty of time for our flight.
We had a great conversation on the way down, which actually helped Marley relax as it was like having an extended family member on the journey.
I thoroughly recommend Sherrie, she helped with the obvious worry of taking your Pet abroad, and would happily receive calls to tell of the experience.

I was looking for a safe and reliable dog sitter for our cavalier, as my family couldn’t look after him whilst we went on holiday. I truly could not have found a better person to look after hi than Gabs.
From the moment we met him he welcomed Nero, and I was impressed on how clean and tidy the house was. He asked for detailed information on Nero’s habits, likes etc and nothing was too much.
We went on holiday feeling assured everything would be fine, and it was. Nero met other dogs at Gabs so has some new friends and had so much fun. The daily pictures and even video’s were fantastic.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gabs for day care or like us when you go away on holiday.

I have been sending my dog Bonnie to Gabs Dogs daycare for 8 months now and spending time there has grown her confidence with other dogs so much. She was very nervous puppy when she first started going, but thanks to Gabriel’s effort and patience she now enjoys spending time with him and the other dogs.
I always have complete peace of mind when I send Bonnie to Gabs Dogs, as I know that she is safe, looked after and is having a great time.

Our cat was housed at Village Garden Cattery and it was her first time ever being away from us. The staff and owners were very reassuring and made sure Luna was comfortable and well looked after while we were away. They give a lot of information beforehand on the arrangements and the to-dos which makes the process much easier for the customer. Luna came home happy and stress free. We will definitely use this service again.

Thank you so much for looking after our Hazel. The communication throughout was amazing. We took up the offer for Hazel to be picked up and returned to our house, and then went smoothly. We received photos and updates whilst she was away. She’s come back happy and well looked after. She’s a small kitten and this is the first time she’s been away from home and it was an easy experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to leave her at the Village Garden Cattery.

Hi! Absolutely brilliant!!
In friendliness, in welcoming, at the start, at the finish… understanding about the stress of the animal (and the owner!!) An unprecedented event happened this last time with one of the cats at home before they left. So much so that the little meow arrived very poorly and didn’t even hold the They took care of it and cleaned it as if it were their own. Amazing team! Thank you.

We have used The Village cattery for the last 5 years. Our cat was always so well cared for whilst staying. They provide updates on how your cat is settling in and updates when you collect them. It was like leaving our cat with family. A great family run cattery.

This is the first time we have used a cattery. Me and my wife were very anxious about leaving our cat for the very first time. From the initial phone call to meeting Bibi for the first time, we were instantly reassured by her that our cat Flossie was going to be well cared for.
Whilst on holiday, Bibi provided us with photos and messages about Flossie which made us feel more relaxed on holiday.
Will definitely be using the cattery again and would 100 % recommend them to anyone.
Thank you to Bibi and everyone who looked after and pampered our baby Flossie.

I highly recommend Village Garden Cattery. I have been using this cattery for just over 12 months. My 13 year old Paddy has stayed quite a few times. He has IBD and has special food, I no longer worry about leaving him because I know he’s in such safe hands and looked after well. He has always come home contended and happy. The cattery is very clean, and the cat houses are spacious. The owners and staff very friendly and caring. They take time to get to know all the cats individually. It’s easy to book and pay online, and drop off and pick up smooth with appointment times for each. Thank you!

Amanda has been great with helping me to train my puppy Border Terrier, Thor. Helping with greeting people and dogs has been fantastic still a work in progress but so much better with the tips from Amanda. Walking to heel, never thought that would happen but Thor was doing this after just 1 session. On our last session we walked in the park with Thor mostly off lead again never believed that I would be able to do this. Amanda has given Thor and me the confidence to continue with our training and I know that she is there in the future if I need help. Would throughly recommend especially if you have a puppy, I have had dogs before but learnt so much in the 7 sessions with Amanda.

We found Claire at Our Love For Dogs through a request on a local FB page for recommendations of a dog trainer. Amongst the “Good luck with that, paid a fortune for a trainer and it’s not helped” there was a recommendation for Claire. We had decided we needed a trainer for our 13 month old Australian Service Dog Gabriel after it had taken my OH 90 minutes to put his lead back on him after a play at the park. There were a few other issues, not walking to heel, he’d managed to pull both of us over whilst on his lead and we could only walk him on a figure of eight lead which he hated and we didn’t like using either.
My OH really wasn’t on board as he felt he could cope with Gabriel’s “naughtiness” but I dreaded taking him out and wouldn’t let him off his lead to play. If I’m honest I also doubted 8 hours would be enough to make much difference to our puppy’s behaviour.
Claire has been a Godsend. Right from the first session she has had Gabriel quite literally eating out of her hand. Our circumstances are a bit unique in that we live on a narrowboat travelling constantly. We don’t always have access to a suitable or safe environment to train our dog. Claire took all this on board (no pun intended) and came up with ways around certain issues.
The difference in Gabriel after just one hours training with Claire was amazing. For the first time I had the confidence to let him off to run in the park wearing a training lead and he would come back to me if I called him. Again after one session spent on heel training he will now walk to heel pretty much all the time.
As we were only staying in Birmingham for 5 weeks Claire has had to sometimes visit us twice in one week. This has meant we have not had a week to work on Gabriel in between her visits but the improvement is immense and I feel that she has equipped us with everything we need to go forward with his training.
Claire has been an absolute delight, cheerful and positive. Gabriel loves her and is beside himself when she comes for his lessons and wants to follow her when she leaves. I know he would cheerfully recommend her and we would too!

The impact Claire had was significant, even after the first session. The tailored training, starting at home and progressing to the park, has been great for Griffin.
The positive approach has been effective and Griffin really enjoys the sessions. I highly recommend Our Love For Dogs, especially for puppy owners.
With Claire’s help, we now understand our pup better and he understands us better too, resulting in a happier and better-behaved pup.

I can’t thank Claire enough for all the support and guidance she’s given. Archie’s behaviour has really improved and he loved working with Claire, as did I. Training focused on positive reinforcement of Archie’s behaviour and was always relevant to what I wanted to work on. We worked on training in the house, garden and used local parks to introduce new environments and stimulus. Claire would check in with us throughout the week as to how training was going and provided pictures and videos to support us. I would fully recommend Claire and For the Love of Dogs training.

Toby had had three previous homes and had been extremely reactive. We were really worried we would be able to be the best help to him and we’re a bit scared of him at times! Today we completed our journey with Claire. From not being able to leave the house to go to a neighboring road to being able to take him on holiday with us we are grateful to say that we have a much happier dog and feel much more confident owners. Heed Claire’s education and input and your dog can have a much less stressful life following trauma or lack of training. Thank you Claire for keeping our dog safe and calmer.

We’re halfway through our 10 week course working with Claire to train our 10 month old Cockapoo, Bluebell and could not recommend her enough.
Bluebell is a high energy pup who loves people and to play. We’ve been working with Clare to teach Bluebell to keep calm, learn some puppy manners and to settle/ play independently when we’re working from home and can honestly say she’s come on leaps and bounds. She is an overall much calmer dog who lets us work/ watch tv in the evenings together/takes herself to bed in her crate and has started to walk much better on her lead. She’s more focussed and you can see her listening to our commands and making her decisions.
She’ll always be a bouncy, bubbly dog but it’s amazing to see her be more calm, listen to our commands and most importantly have fun and enjoy her training. It’s also been really east to integrate the training into our lives and we’re having great fun too. We can’t wait to see her growth over the next few weeks but are already so impressed! Thanks so much Claire!

We had Lola at 7 wks old at the end of December, she turned out to be really naughty and aggressive, we thought a few times we’d have to get rid, but we didn’t want to give up. I contacted Love For Dogs and was given a date, so started her training end of may. Since Simon has been training Lola, she has turned into a different dog all together. She is obedient and very friendly to us and everyone else. We couldn’t have done this without the support from Simon. They are brilliant at what they do and I definitely recommend them to any one that is thinking about getting there dog trained. Don’t give up as we never and the results are well worth the money and patience. 5 star service all around. Thank you very much OUR LOVE FOR DOGS

So pleased we chose the fantastic team of The Pet Bus to relocate our senior cat from Jersey (on the ferry) and up to Yorkshire. From enquiry to successful VIP delivery, Les & Gary were kind, professional, swift to communicate and worth every penny. Their DEFRA compliant van is smart, clean and monitors the internal temp. too. Our cat had a spacious ‘kennel’ area with clean litter, fresh water and his own preferred food. Highly recommend.

Would highly recommend these guys to everyone.
The pet bus is a fantastic form of transport, they care about your dog and also gave us a lot of support a reassurance about getting our pup in the bus as he had never experienced it before. He jumped in good as gold and had a comfy ride! Gareth also transported me an my partner along side our dog to take us to a trail day at a kennel and even waited for us! Genuinely lovely, kind and caring people! Thank you so much.

The Pet Bus Team are an absolute pleasure to deal with, since making first contact through to delivery of puppy Sonny they were efficient, kept us informed and gave clear and direct information about the collection times and details, travel and times of arrival etc.
They sent us pictures when they collected Sonny and when they got to the overnight stay they sent more picture and an update on how puppy slept etc, then again when boarded flight so we knew to track the flight to be at the airport to meet them. Sonny arrived calm and wasn’t fazed at all by having travelled in a van and had an overnight stay and then a flight completely happy wagging his tail when he came out of the crate.
Friendly, professional, state of the art pet transport vehicle, cannot recommend The Pet Bus Team enough if you have a furbaby to transport.
Thank you all – Sonny is happy and settled in his new furever home in Guernsey 🙂

I cannot recommend Pet Bus highly enough. They helped our family through a difficult time when my elderly Dad went into a care home and his dog 14 year old dog Bella urgently needed a new home. Pet Bus organised the transport of Bella on the Pet Bus on Condor ferry from Guernsey to Portsmouth and delivered to our door in Dorset. From the moment I contacted Pet Bus, less than a week ago, the company were informative and so helpful.
All throughout the process and journey we were kept up to date with messages and photos.
And most importantly Bella, who is a nervous dog was treated with the greatest care and respect. Bella is settling in very well with us today. Thank you to everyone at Pet Bus.

Highly recommend the Pet Bus for transporting your furbaby. Our 9 week old pup had a rather long journey from Scotland to Jersey and they kept us posted every step of the way with updates and lots of pictures and videos.
It really put our mind at ease – so a MASSIVE thank you!

I can’t thank The PetBus team enough! They made our cats move from Kent to Jersey so much easier than it originally was going to be. From the moment I booked, to collection of my darling little Beau Cat, to collecting her off of the ferry… it was all just amazing. Even with my constant messages during the process, they were beyond friendly and helpful. I am beyond grateful and can not recommend The PetBud enough!
Once again, thank you so much!

Frequently Asked Questions about Pets in Birmingham
What are Birmingham’s leash laws?
Birmingham has ordinances regarding pets that owners need to be aware of. Generally, all dogs must be kept on a leash when off your property. There are designated areas where dogs may be allowed off-leash, but these are limited and require adherence to specific rules and regulations. Failure to comply with these laws can result in fines and other penalties.
Are there designated dog parks in Birmingham?
Yes, Birmingham has several designated dog parks where dogs can socialize and exercise off-leash. These parks offer a safe and controlled environment for dogs to run and play. Popular options include Cahaba Valley Dog Park and Avondale Park Dog Run. It's important to check the park's specific rules before visiting, as they may vary.
What are the rules regarding pet licensing?
Birmingham requires all dogs and cats over a certain age to be licensed. A pet license helps the city track the number of animals and aids in the return of lost pets. Obtaining a license typically involves providing proof of vaccinations, especially for rabies. The application process and associated fees can be found on the city's official website.
What vaccinations are required for pets in Birmingham?
While specific vaccination requirements can change, Birmingham generally requires pets to be vaccinated against rabies. Additionally, veterinarians often recommend vaccinations for distemper, parvovirus, and hepatitis. Keeping your pet’s vaccinations up to date is crucial for their health and the overall public safety.
Are there restrictions on the number of pets allowed per household?
Birmingham’s ordinances regarding pets may include limitations on the number of animals allowed per household. These limits are typically in place to ensure the well-being of the animals and minimize potential nuisance to neighbors. Check the local ordinances for specific details and any related permitting processes.
What should I do if my pet gets lost in Birmingham?
If your pet gets lost, the first step is to contact Birmingham Animal Services and report the missing animal. Also, spread the word through social media and post flyers with a picture of your pet in the surrounding neighborhoods. Consider attaching a microchip to your pet; this increases the chances of them being returned to you if found.
What are the rules concerning barking dogs and noise complaints?
Birmingham has noise ordinances that address excessive barking. If a dog's barking is deemed disruptive to neighbors, it can trigger a noise complaint. Responsible pet ownership includes managing a dog's barking and preventing disturbances. Addressing the underlying cause of the barking (boredom, anxiety) is also recommended.
Are there any regulations regarding pet waste disposal?
Birmingham has strict rules regarding pet waste disposal. Pet owners are required to clean up after their pets immediately and dispose of the waste properly in designated receptacles. Failure to do so can result in fines. Always carry bags when walking your dog.

Several organizations in Birmingham provide low-cost pet care services, including vaccination clinics, spay/neuter programs, and pet food banks. These resources are invaluable for pet owners facing financial challenges and ensure that pets receive the care they need. Researching and connecting with these organizations can greatly assist with pet ownership costs.
Are there breed-specific legislation in Birmingham?
