We had a spectacular time at P&P and the brunch experience was fantastic (one of the best, if not the best we’ve ever experienced in Birmingham). And much credit to our wonderful hostess, Zee! Who made the experience what it was. She interactive, attentive, friendly, and always positive throughout, makes it an easy decision to return!

Nice place to sit and have a drink outside in the sun. I didn’t have anything off the food menu so can’t comment on that, but enjoyed a couple of beers overlooking the canal. Service was great. Drinks prices a little high, but expected with the location.

Such a lovely spot for bottomless brunch! The staff are very attentive and check up on you regularly. They are so friendly and make sure you have everything. Greesh was a fab host and ensure we had everything we needed and made sure we were topped up on drinks! Will definitely be back!

The breading on the underside of the fish was soggy and falling off onto the chips. It made it more difficult to eat as a result. It was otherwise tasty. It may have been because the fish was served on top of the chips. The curry was mildly spiced and a good combination of flavors. It was excessively noisy making conversation difficult. Perhaps some a noise absorbing panels would help.

Our favourite pub in Birmingham. Has a fantastic selection of real ales and the added bonus of a couple of friendly cats roaming around the pub! We mainly go each week to see the cats, but the beer is also fantastic and atmosphere is very friendly with very welcoming staff.

This pub contributed greatly to my decision to pick Birmingham as my new residency. I have this idea that you can tell a good place by checking its pubs, and after living in the South for 10 years I needed some change. Birmingham has so many nice pubs, and after sampling a few places, I quickly got drawn to The Wellington. Central location, gorgeous interior and style, friendly guest and staff members, record number of hand pulls and most importantly, they keep their real ales fresh. This pub introduced me to the beers of Black Country Ales and gave me a new favourite, the BFG. I will be forever thankful to the gentleman who recommended me this beer on my first day of visit. The pub also has two cats. They are not in your face and you can consider yourself lucky if they come to you. If you’re allergic or just dislike them, please show your support for other pubs in the area instead of complaining about this.

Absolutely love this place – it’s been my go-to pub in Birmingham since I moved here.
The staff are friendly and welcoming, there is a good selection of drinks, it’s reasonably priced (especially for a city centre pub), the atmosphere is cosy.
The highlight of any visit is spotting the pub cats, Malt and Hops – it’s just an instant happiness boost to have a drink next to two adorable kitties, and that keeps me coming back again and again.

16 ales at the bar! Now that is impressive! Busy on a Monday lunchtime, their ale list was varied and the beers that I tried were all in excellent condition. Comfy carpeted interior with the beer list on screens. Impressive back bar as well, I was tempted into trying a long row red whiskey that was finished in Pinot noir barriques. You could spend many an hour in here. Lovely pub

I’ve removed 2 stars from my original review on account of BCA’s decision to remove 2 stars from the pub (malt and hops). Had so much fun with these cute characters over the years, they’ll both be missed so much. Just hope I’m not sharing a pint with mice now…

The Figure of Eight in Birmingham has consistently been a venue I’ve enjoyed visiting. Its classy and sophisticated atmosphere sets it apart. It was always highly regarded for its well maintained interiors and, with its central location and overall quality, this lication is a top choice for dining and social gatherings in Birmingham.

Dirty table, nobody bothered to come round to wipe our table after requesting this at the bar. Food was not enjoyable, not even average. On the plus side, it looks quite a nice place and could be just that with a bit more effort and better food. And Strongbow is back which was good. But I’ ll gladly pay more somewhere else going forward.

I’ve been here before and wrote a positive review… I’m pleased to say that The Figure of Eight is as good, if not better, than it wad before (a couple of years ago).

Sure, it’s only a Wetherspoon’s but Jada served with great care, consideration and politeness. Gav also was supportive of customers, always busying around and even asked us, as he passed, if the food was okay.

As I say, it’s only a Wetherspoon’s but we received a genuinely connected service sometimes lacking in more regarded venues.

As I said to the manager before leaving, he and his team have represented their brand and city very well.

Thanks to all.

As with most Wetherspoons, there are good drinks at good prices. This one was quite busy as it was Friday night on Broad Street. I ordered at the bar first, and the staff were great, very friendly and polite. More importantly, they know how to pour a decent pint, unlike the last pub I’d been to this week.

I then downloaded the app to try for the first time. I was impressed with how quick my drink came to the table, but something was a little off with it. There was a cherry flavour in there, I’m thinking it was because they accidentally used cherry pepsi max instead of the standard pepsi max I’d ordered. I’m hoping it wasn’t some kind of cherry liqueur instead of JD.

Drank it anyway and moved on. The place looks so different to when I used to pop in 15-20 years ago.

A nice restaurant with a wide range of food choices and dining areas, all in one premise. Unique, one of its kind.
Food is good, fantastic taste. Service is good.
Free refills of soft drinks and beverages if you order with drinks.
Prices are affordable.
A comfortable place to wee the hours away. You can choose to read a book or get online on your notebook and even play a slot machine.
You can dine in the in house air-conditioning area or at their open space backyard.
Nice place to get together with friends and family.

We were here on a Saturday evening for a few drinks. The atmosphere and interior were very nice – a really interesting place to relax. However, the service leaves much to be desired. There were only two bartenders working at the bar , and unfortunately they did not know how to make cocktails correctly: the proportions were wrong, and they could not make a non-alcoholic cocktail at all. I wish the staff knew the menu better and knew how to make drinks, especially on weekends when the flow of guests is high. We hope that in the future the service will be at the level of the atmosphere of the establishment.

Visited Bacchus Bar for drinks, and it was a great experience! The ambiance was cozy and relaxed, perfect for an evening out. The drink menu had a fantastic selection of cocktails, beers, and wines, and everything we tried was spot on. The bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable, and made some excellent recommendations.

Whether you’re looking for a casual drink with friends or a night out, Bacchus Bar is a solid choice. Definitely looking forward to going back soon!

What do a pair of Aussie tourists fresh off the plane get for dinner on their first night in Birmingham? Easy answer, a pie, of course! But not just any old pie, no no my friend. You ain’t had a pie until you have ventured into the subterranean bar/ restaurant that is Bacchus.

Located in the Burlington Arcade in the heart of Birmingham you descend down a fight of stairs into the most over themed, ostentatiously decorated pub you have, and will, ever experience. Is this a negative? No way! The venue is cozy and inviting and has lots of little nooks and crannies where you can secrete yourself for an intimate dinner or relaxed drinks with mates.

The choices at the bar are extensive and the food coming out of the kitchen is top notch. Their pies are what they are famous for and for good reason. Packed with quality filling and doubling down on flavour the range of pies is impressive and great value of money.

I’ve left the best for last. The service is impeccable. The staff are amazing here. Super friendly and attentive and most importantly can have a joke about how rubbish English beer and cricket is compared to Australia.

We were served by the guy who I assume is running the show down there. Will, what can I say… the guy is an absolute star. Smart, witty and handsome; I was about to marry my mum off to him if I thought I could get away with my dad not finding out…

We had a great time. Cheers guys.

This was a fantastic pub for drinking, located not far from the nightlife district of Birmingham! The style is really nice of the glassless window like structures between certain seats and the architecture on the ceiling, area has a nice bright feel too. Counter is well-presented and the outdoor seating is solid even in the rain, where I had a pint of Stowford Press!

Wetherspoons #110.

Popped in for a beer en-route round Birmingham. Had been to London and North Western an hour earlier for Breakfast. So can’t comment on the food served here.

A mid size branch, in an ‘L shape’, situated around China Town/Gay Village suburb of the City Centre. Also has a large beer garden out the front of the pub.

Had a pint of Brew 61 Hop On. Although beer in good condition was disappointed that this pub only has five handpulls in total. Three serving the bog standard stuff, plus two guest beers.

Been in here loads of times and every time was fine, but the other day let it down unfortunately
Stood at empty bar with a male manager and a female member of staff talking at other end, but knew I was there, maybe 2 minutes.
He came over, I said hello to him no response.
Asked for the ale I wanted, said ‘card’ before even getting a glass to pour the ale I want to pay for
(considering how often ales can run out)

And then didn’t interact once with me, like it was hassle me being there, was talking to the next guy, a local, already, before finishing pouring my drink.
I don’t ask for much, but a little ‘cheers mate’ or ‘enjoy your pint’ doesn’t cost anything eh
If was busy I can understand but there was about ten people in there.
On the same day had been in a spoons in Liverpool and the difference in service is night and day honestly, and sadly because I like this pub

I had a clear veggie soup with noodles. New on menu. It was delicious but warm, not hot. When asked, though, it was taken away and came back piping hot, fairly quickly. Loved the busy-ness of the place and staff were pleasant, seemed efficient but not fussy or intrusive

Lovely location on the Canal. Large seated area inside and a reasonably sized terrace. It’s a Green King pub so has the standard selection of beers. Outdoor seating could benefit with a little TLC.

We tried to get food on a Friday night when Peter Kay was on at Utilita and it was chaos. Very few tables, big lines at the bar. We almost bailed, but managed to get lucky. Food came out quickly which was a blessing. The pie seemed a bit overcooked to me with more pastry than filling. Overall a stressful experience, but somewhat unusual circumstances.

I picked this place simply because it was the first restaurant near me to open in the morning, but I had read some reviews and thought it sounded good.

I ordered the full breakfast which was only £8.99 and it was very tasty! (I did substitute the mushrooms for more beans since I’m not a mushroom fan.)

It was very quiet when I went – I’m pretty sure I was the first customer of the day, but it was nice and clean and the service was great. The only qualm I have about the service, isn’t about the staff, it’s just that there was a QR code I didn’t notice (because it was so small) at the top of the menu so you could order and pay directly from an app, however I was able to just place my order with a staff member. I did however sit there awkwardly waiting for someone to take my order, until I noticed the QR code, but that’s more my incompetence.

I don’t know what I was expecting for the washroom, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It appeared newly renovated/decorated and was clean.

I’m glad I was able to find this gem!

Flat pint also i had mixed grill and EVERYTHING apart from the egg was cold, same with the wife’s gammon and chips. I think they forgot where the food was going as took a while but everything was room temp at best. Egg was hot though so they probably did fresh eggs but forgot about everything else. Used to be good and have used before, I doubt I will use again after this visit

The Brasshouse was a short walk from our hotel, but looked very inviting. What a fabulous find! Staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Wide choice of drinks, beers on draught and food was honest ‘pub grub’ fayre. My wife was GF and the chap taking my order was careful to annotate this on the order to the kitchen. Our food was hot, tasty and plenty of it! Cannot recommend The Brasshouse highly enough. There seems to be a growing number of bars and restaurants all over the city centre in Birmingham, but for a decent pint, honest grub and reasonable prices, you’d be hard pressed to find a better place to have dinner! Nice one and we will be back! Thanks very much!

The food is worth the the wait and tastes good. The service is quick. Great value for money and serviced with decent portions. The staff are friendly and when the atmosphere is quiet, it can be quite relaxing especially after a day out. It’s also a nice atmosphere when there are quite a few customers are around.

Located by the canals on a busy Broad Street. The Brasshouse is an old-fashioned building which brings a unique vibe once you enter. Tried their English breakfast as well as their sunday roast, nothing special, but above average. Overall, a great place to get a pint, breakfast or the sunday roast

Lovely looking pub, with nice vintage aesthetics. I have visited here a couple of times a few years before with friends. My latest visit was a quick solo lunchtime pint.

There was a very good beer selection to pick from, and great, friendly, welcoming service which is something of a rareity around this particular area these days. Definitely one of the best pubs in the city centre.

What a wonderful pub! Right next to Snow Hill. Love the interior and the atmosphere (even on a cold, wet Monday) was lovely. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the beer was fantastic. Food was a little underwhelming for the price unfortunately, but I’ll still definitely be back for more beers

What a brilliant night we had for my husbands birthday. The atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming. Service was excellent and the food was so tasty and out of this world. Thank you chef!! Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and even helped with family photos and the birthday cake. Thank you so much. We will definitely be returning.

A pub to be strongly recommended. Went on Saturday with Cambs Western Front Assn solely because of the pubs history with The Old Contemptibles. Lots of memorabilia to study, whilst an excellent selection of well kept ales satisfied the thirst. I had the steak & ale pie and was not disappointed. To top all that, Rob & Rico were terrific hosts and great fun, thanks guys. We will be back.

Very friendly staff, you could see good team work and co-operation. Place was clean even the bathrooms which isn’t always the case in pubs and bars. The food was outstanding. We’ve been back a few times and I’ll be back again.

I went to the bar mainly for a language club that takes place inside. But it’s very nice inside, although it’s a bit tough without air conditioning and they charge you money for charging your phone, it’s not free.

Went on a first date, the place had nice atmosphere and was pretty chill in there. The kind bar staff even came over to prompt me on getting food before the birthday party queue started.

Carvery was very tasty. The stuffing was a little dry and but nothing a bit of gravy couldn’t fix.

It was very welcoming, lovely that Chris acknowledged the reason we were there (birthday celebrations) and welcomed us so nicely. Food was amazing and plenty of it too, will definitely visit again.

Came here for food and for the wacky warehouse. When we walked in, our table was being used, so we had to wait for them to ask a family to move. When we got our seats, the table was filthy and sticky. We finally ordered food and we had ordered a steak and chicken fondue which came with no chicken. We ordered a side of onion rings and told the guy we were waiting. He said they were on the way and they never came so we gave up asking. The floor which children were walking on with socks had wet paper towel, food etc and not once did I see a staff member cleaning the floor. The boys toilets were out of order. The whole place is terrible.

Came across this lovely friendly pub, great food with a good menu, and service spot on. They have pay phone chargers on the bar, plenty of TVs to watch games, etc. I think the only neg, is from standing at one end of the bar near a till. You’re asked to come over the other end to be served even just for a pint. Would definitely go back as a great selection of beers and loved the Steak & chicken fondue, spot on. Pictures are taking early on before it got busy.
