What a beautiful evening, Friday night with free upgrades on bottomless brunch!
We had a lovely amazing server called Gabriel who brought the vibes and such a lovely atmosphere when taking out orders and serving drinks. Really wid we could have hiven him a complimentary drink but he was so professional! He really made our evening! Friendly face and amazing personality!
We were also sat to our table by Anges who was very welcoming and accommodating! We will definitely be returning! The food and service was amazing! Just what I needed for a Friday night after a long week!

Great bar, loads of character and very popular too
Seating available but get there early as you’ll struggle to grab seats if you want them.
Good music, chilled atmosphere.
Bar can be busy, but the service is quick and efficient too.

Not a bad place to be down by the canal. Easygoing chillout spot. The service was quick, friendly and attentive. While we only ordered a couple of sides to nibble on, they were well made. Tripe cooked chips and beer battered onion rings were golden and crispy.

I visited here a couple of weeks ago for the Sunday roast with my mum. We both had the roast beef and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered 3 of the sides and the only thing I would say was the staff should’ve informed us that the cauliflower cheese dish handle was very hot, otherwise we have no other complaints. A lovely meal out with delicious food and a wonderful choice of cocktails

Went on Saturday 2pm and they had plenty of tables available indoors downstairs. Speaker system was fantastic indoors to stream the musician’s live music at the porch outside. Very lovely staff too.
Food wise, I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel and my friend got a chicken burger. The schnitzel was smaller than I thought for the price and was quite dry. Had to douse it in the mint sauce which was thankfully fantastic if you love mint. My friend really enjoyed their burger and it did look fantastic. The fries have a garlic seasoning on it which was pretty decent too.
I wouldn’t mind coming back again. Saw a table got the kebab which looks really good, would like to try that next time.

Can’t say I really enjoy the food here, they have a really good selection of dishes, but it’s too international, they tend to be a master of none.
At least the baked cheese and bread was tasty.
So was the crispy duck and wrap.
Overall environment is really nice and relaxing.
The staff are really nice and friendly.
After dinner, we went downstairs for some drinks and listen to the live singing performance, which was really enjoyable.

The Botanist at Gas Street Basin delights with its location and atmospheric interior full of greenery and light. It’s a perfect spot for a daytime coffee or an evening beer by the canal. The staff are polite and discreet, and the atmosphere invites calm and relaxation. A pub with soul and character.

Canal side bar and restaurant. Centered in the city centre Gas Basin, and bustling with life and people.
Beautiful canal area with long boats and music too. Overlooks a tri-connection of canals with loads of bars and buildings all around.
Peaky Blinders style vista in all directions.
Well worth a visit. Loads of indoor and outdoor seating. Expect to wait for a table of you want to eat and haven’t pre-booked.

Πολύ όμορφος χώρος για μπύρα και φαγητό απέναντι από τον Καθεδρικό.

Fantastic pub. Once you get past the grand aesthetic of both the exterior and interior, you get to a superb selection of beers and ales. I opted for a pint of Lavender Hill Pale Ale, followed by a half of Rebel IPA.
I was only visiting for a quick drink before heading to my lunch reservation elsewhere, but I want to come back and try out all of the different offerings. I may have to do it in half-pints!
Service is friendly and welcoming, if you get a seat by the large front windows in day time, there’s a lovely view of the cathedral and it’s grounds to take in.

☆ 5/5
Beautiful space; I went for the theatre which was a fantastic treat. Walk through the pub all the way to the back where the ladies’ loos are and then up one flight of stairs for the gorgeous little theatre bar and another for the small but perfectly formed studio theatre. A fantastic production and really fun experience. Non-alcoholic drinks reasonably priced, alcoholic typical for a classy city centre place. Stayed for a drink in the main pub at the end as it was too stunning not to take it all in for a bit!

What a great pub with lots of atmosphere right next to the cathedral. Great interior decor. I dived in here during a heavy shower and was welcomed by friendly staff. Good selection of beer. I wasn’t hungry but looked at the menus and was tempted.

If going for just a drink it would be 5 star. But we went for food. It was extremely over priced. I had the vegan onion bhaji burger as it was one of the only options. It was so dry, they obviously just microwave the patty and it had been zapped so much it was extremely hard on the outside and powdery on the inside. (You know when you put a pastry in the microwave for so long the crust goes rock hard)
If they want to charge just under £18 for a burger it should be made fresh!
My suggestion if going for food maybe just go for the pies or if not…. Go somewhere else. (Lots to choose from around colmore row)
I would have said something if someone came over to ask how the food was. But no one did even when they came to get the plates they didn’t ask how the food was.
I would have said something but it seemed pointless after I had eaten it all. Due to being so hungry.
Overall, great please to go for a drink… from my experience I wouldn’t go there again for food. 2 glasses of wine and a main meal £63!!! Not worth it.

Amazing wonderful old pub/picture house in Birmingham temple Street. The inside architecture is amazing and the wall murals, balcony and central Ceiling Dome really make this an outstanding pub. The central bar has a great selection of beers and ales, drinks, with a very appealing menu. A must visit.

We came here to see a production of Be More Chill, and I wish we’d have stayed for longer because the pub area was beautiful and the food smelled great. The show was brilliant, the facilities well kept. The theatre is up two floors of steep stairs, but a small lift is available & well maintained. All staff, stewards and performers were not only polite and professional, but enthusiastic and great to chat with. I’ll definitely be returning to The Old Joint Stock soon!

A lovely city centre pub, at the top of Bennet’s Hill, full of old world ambience and atmosphere. Lots of quality real ales, IPA’s and Ciders. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Nice and clean and accessible. Can’t comment on food as didn’t eat here, but enjoyed a few hours with my daughter sipping and chatting. Will definitely visit again again!

We came to Birmingham for the weekend to see the Black Sabbath bridge and bench where they had tributes to Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Also the Birmingham museum to see the Ozzy exhibition. Afterwards we stopped in to The Wellington for a few drinks. A huge selection of beers and the service was great.
We met some people there that were visiting for the same reason. We had a great time with them and really enjoyed our time at the pub. I would recommend a visit here while in Birmingham.

Beautiful traditional pub in Birmingham city centre stocked with a huge range of cask beers. Part of the Black Country Ales franchise, the excellent landlord, Nigel knows how to keep a beer, and has recently introduced a selection of cobs for customers who choose not to bring in their own food! A choice of bars and an outdoor seating area, plus lovely friendly staff make the Wellington a must for anyone visiting the city.

Met a friend I’d not seen for many years. Decided to meet here as we had worked across the road in the old Midland Bsnk ( yes that long ago). The Black Country pub group are doing a fantastic job in these pubs. Great selection of beers and ciders. Nice atmosphere and a good price for the beer. Even sell old style cobs.we had a great afternoon.

A Great Experience at Lost and Found
We had a really enjoyable time at Lost and Found. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated promptly (though it was a weekday), which was a great start. The interior is beautifully done—stylish and welcoming.
The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We appreciated the online ordering system, which made things very convenient. The menu had a good range of options, and I went with the fish and chips—absolutely delicious! We also took advantage of the 2-for-1 offer on selected drinks, which was a nice bonus.
Overall, a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back.

Staff were lovely and accommodating from start to finish. Very helpful and friendly, the place itself was really nice. Loved the decor, the facilities were lovely. Can’t really fault anything. The only thing I would say was the private bar wasn’t in use not sure if this was due to staffing as it was a Sunday but we had to go out the private room to the main bar for drinks and we had to order pretty much soon as we arrived as the kitchen closed at 8 and my booking was at 6. Apart from that our waitress Lolita? Was AMAZING!

Recently visited this pub, prior to a theatre show. Booking is definitely advised with this venue. It was very busy when we arrived and extremely hot inside. It was very noisy, with lots or party groups and hen party, too. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We were shown to a table and then asked to move to the one alongside, some 20 minutes later! Our food order arrived within 15 minutes. It was well cooked and presented, tasted delicious, too. Our server was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. The building itself was a bank, so the inside was beautiful, as you would expect from an old building. However, the leaves which hand around as decoration were very dusty and definitely due to be replaced/cleaned. Also, the downstairs corridors leading to the wash rooms require attention, along with the toilets themselves. On the whole, yes I would return, staff are wonderful, decoration/toilets in need of help.

Met with a friend for a late lunch, catch up, natter. Perfect! We ordered 4 starters and shared as neither of us were over hungry. Food delicious! Surrounding just lovely! We then sat there chatting so long we realised the 2 for 1 cocktails had started! Not many to choose from but my! They were so good! I know we’ll be back again!

Had a fantastic bottomless brunch with a friend who l hadn’t seen for a long while here. It was the perfect setting and the drinks just kept coming! The food was delicious and the cocktails were refreshing. I will definitely be back for another visit, it was so worth every penny and I even brought a dessert after our bottomless brunch time was up !! Thank you so much guys ALSO: I don’t know the waitresses name but she was witty and friendly and attentive, 10/10 staff.

☆ 5/5
The venue is nicely decorated and styled and we were greeted on entry and taking to our table by a polite and friendly and attentive waitress.
Unfortunately that’s where the positives ended. Myself and my partner had the beef roast, the beef had a slimy texture was seriously undercooked and very fatty. The potatoes were also undercooked. The broccoli was fit for the pin, way past its best and it was the same with my partner’s cauliflower cheese. My daughter who made the booking for Mother’s Day barely ate her fish as it was watery and very mushy.
We got the attention of the waitress to complain about the food, she was apologetic and said she’d get the manager to speak to us, we waited about 45 mins and the manager never arrived so we got the attention of the waitress again and she went off to speak to the manager again. Eventually we had the meals discounted but not to the level that matched the waste of money and poorly prepared food. I would not recommend this place for food.

An oasis hidden below the mayhem above. We visited on a quiet weekday night and stayed until closing. Super selection of beers and good service. Decor is imaginative but in a Michelangleo Greek renaissance theme. That’s my best interpretation but would recommend trying the bar. Sadly I will not get to experience the bustle of a weekend it was a good night.

Had a great Sunday evening dinner here. Really unique decor and cozy atmosphere, staff were friendly and attentive.
Food was nice and the menu had plenty of good options. We booked using FirstTable for 50% off food, so we got very reasonable prices as well. We didn’t get any drinks, but there was a wide variety at the bar.
Overall, highly recommended!

Been here before years ago on a friday night when it was lively and heaving. This time I visited during a quiet daytime.
It’s a striking place to be in terms of decor. They serve some fantastic beers on tap, and are also good for a coffee. They made my wife a lovely cappuccino.
The service was superb and friendly. I know the place must be good when my wife talks about going back there again. It’s a shame we had elsewhere to be, as we could’ve happily spent a couple of hours here.

Love this place! Full of atmosphere and theatre, top range of drinks and service stop on. This bar is under the Hotel and as such you can’t get a mobile signal so everyone is talking, socialising and there’s no annoying phone use. I didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the quality, but the menu looks pretty comprehensive and eclectic. It’s not the cheapest place to eat and drink but it’s full of charm, and pseudo history.

The Plough Harborne provides a consistently pleasant experience. The staff are welcoming and attentive, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. It’s a great spot for a casual meal or drinks with friends, or for a more formal occasion where you want a dependable and friendly establishment. The overall quality of the food is excellent, with a varied menu to suit different tastes.
A notable feature is the commitment to creating a feel-good environment. The pub is known for its warm ambiance and often has a gentle buzz without being overly loud. It is a reliable choice when looking for somewhere that balances quality refreshments with a truly enjoyable, easygoing setting, and its commitment to a generally high standard makes it a worthwhile visit.

Really great experience, food and vibes were immaculate. Great place to just have that nostalgic afternoon with friends. Like you met your friends 10 years ago in the present. On the other hand. Tables and menus could be a bit better really. Bathrooms having lotion is a very nice touch and greatly appreciated. For those reasons really I’ll give em a 5 star despite the issues. Please keep improving

Didn’t try the food so only 4 stars, but almost everyone else was tucking in to what looked like really nice food. Great mix of people in the pub, lots of families. If I lived in Harborne this would be my go to pub for drinks, meals or just a coffee. Next time I visit my daughter we will be eating here.
Good selection of alcohol free drinks (I was driving).

The atmosphere is wonderful. I recommend the outdoor sitting as there is really nice greenery around. And don’t worry about the cold, there are heaters next to each table. The food is very well cooked and I highly recommend the salad.

Came here to eat, rather than stay. We hadn’t booked a table but fortunately there was space for our visit. I opted for the goats cheese pizza whilst my husband had the spicy vegan burger, which I tried and was very spicy! Our daughter enjoyed her pizza from the children’s menu. All plates were emptied and we enjoyed our meals.

Great staffing and friendliness, efficient with advising specials and any food not available on the menu early on.
Great selection of tap drinks (Aspall cider).
Food was a delight – Chicken Pole Bowl with seaweed, pickled red cabbage, guacamole, rice and a good splash of teriyaki / soy sauce.
Will return!

Great service, vibe & beer garden ⭐️ but food wise it was mediocre wouldn’t have been happy paying the full £20 for the burger normal price lucky it was 241 burger on Tuesdays so only came out £30 for 2 main meals and 3 half a pints would recommend going for the deals 241 pizza Monday 241 burgers Tuesday & the lunchtime calzone but not the main menu Final note drinks are expensive at £7 a pint but great selection and rated my pizza larger

Beautiful venue with lovely food which was presented so well.
Lots of parking available on grounds (pay via machine/app) lots of indoor and outdoor seating and a bar area. Menu was great, however, limited vegetarian options were noted by a friend. Her meal was delicious though. Quality of food 5/5.
Live music was a fantastic surprise (Friday evening).Staff were very warm and accommodating. Toilets are upstairs and decorated beautifully.
The place has held its beautiful historic ambience with a romantic air. Larger rooms are available to be hired out for functions. A great place!

The Physician is absolutely beautiful and the food is excellent. We decided to eat here for a family meal, which was lovely. Then one the servers – Amber, who wasn’t our server – went out of her way to stop and say how beautiful me, my mom and mother-in-law looked just as we were leaving. She asked what the occasion was. It was actually my wedding day! We hadn’t told anyone, so this made us very happy that someone had noticed how glowing we were. It was a very happy day for us.
On our next visit, we asked if they could adapt a dish to accommodate a medical need, and they were able to do that for us. The staff are so easy to talk to. The atmosphere is relaxed and we feel very welcomed and comfortable. It’s a wonderful experience.

Great food and service from the staff. You can tell the food is made with quality ingredients as with all Brunning and Price pubs. They always have interesting and delicious vegan options and a range of great drinks behind the bar.

The perfect place to refuel just outside Birmingham City Centre. In the heart of Edgbaston this cosy and well designed pub has ample space for small and large groups.
I like the outdoor covered area and the garden room. But all of the spaces are located around the main bar/lounge area. The service is good and the food is delicious. Portions are not huge, but it’s the quality that really matters here.
Recently I enjoyed the Sunday beef roast.

A colleague recommended The Physician to us and she wasn’t wrong! Beautiful old building in Edgebaston Village, and it feels special when you walk through door. Massive bar area with a buzz of conversation, and an equally massive range of drinks. As soon as we said that we had a dinner reservation, we were shown to our table.
Daily menus were given to us and we were offered drinks. The menu is extensive, covering a wide range of cuisines. My wife had fish and chips, and it was perfectly cooked, with pure white flakey fish. I chose the braised neck of lamb, with veg and gravy. Fabulous, and the lamb just melted in the mouth. The portion sizes were generous and the prices seemed about right. We will return, and we’re plotting a weekend trip to sample a Sunday roast!

The Physician in Edgbaston delivers an exceptional Sunday lunch experience in a stunning, character-filled setting. The highlight was undoubtedly the roast lamb shoulder—tender, rich rosemary red wine gravy, and beautifully seasoned, served piping hot with all the trimmings. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, and the flavours were spot on. Attentive service and a great selection of drinks made the afternoon even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-tier roast in Birmingham!

The Malt House offers a pleasant atmosphere and a convenient location, making it a good choice for a casual outing. The menu boasts a range of options, with a focus on pub classics and a selection of local beers. Ordering via QR code streamlines the process, though direct interaction with staff might be reduced.
Overall, it’s a reliable spot for a drink or bite to eat. The canal-side setting promises a delightful experience, especially during warmer months. The pub demonstrates a commitment to offering diverse choices, featuring vegetarian options and focusing on a relaxed, accessible environment.

Awesome location and the best so far in Birmingham for a drink or dine. The view of canal from here is beautiful and definitely will be amazing in summer.
It’s a Green King pub. Choice of local beers as well as other breweries of UK. Staff were friendly. Service was good. Veggie options in dine. Very nice and cool atmosphere. Didn’t realised they have balcony until i was out. Next time i’lll be there for the best view.

Stopped in The Malt House for dinner due to it’s convenience. We waited for a little bit before we found that we had to scan the QR code to order. While this made the ordering fairly easy, it prevented us from being able to ask a waiter/waitress about the foods and drinks. It also made it a little painful when we wanted to add another drink. Outside of those challenges it was a nice place and the steak and ale pie was excellent. Now that I know the ordering process, I would go there again.

Had some drinks here with family, this was about 8.30pm just before an event kicked out at the arena so it was quite inside we asked for a few beers and 2 coffees and was informed that the coffee is now shut off for the day. The girl that served us was not a very good front of house smiling person at all looked like she did not what to be here. The pub it self is very nice and lots of seating, its located next to the canal which is also nice and has a good beer garden. The major let down for me was the heavy smell of cannabis that flowed in from the outside area which made you feel sick and as we had a 9 year old with with us we did not stop much longer as by this time the munchies had set in.

Food was nice, the restaurant was very nice, cozy indoor and outdoor but the service was terrible that let somebody cut in line and another staff said not serving at the moment used to be a big fan but now no more.

An ideal location on the canals, and have to be honest and say service is poor, I felt we were doing the staff a favour by ordering drinks, we got a white wine and had to ask for an ice bucket, the roof terrace is closed on a beautiful day. A party of 6 now moving on to a different bar because of the staff.

Popped in with family member to try out the meal and a drink offer. It was cold at the table we were sitting at, had to keep our scarfs on. Most of the tables including the one we sat at had people’s half drank drinks, tables wasn’t cleared or cleaned. I had to ask the bar woman and she cleared and cleaned our table promptly. I can’t fault the service. The food was tasty but not much to brag about. We had the bangers n mash(could have added more peas- the gravy was good ) and gammon steak meal with egg(could have been presented better, the look like someone had cut of the egg white and left just the yolk) with two large glass of Diet Pepsi. The drinks selection was great, you get a good amount per glass.
The ladies toilets need urgent maintenance work. Toilet seats and door locks need looking into and again it was that cold you could see the steam coming from the toilet bowl after it was used

Thank you both for making it such a great experience — we’ll definitely be back soon!

I went here to watch football and have a couple of drinks with my partner whilst our young son had a bite to eat. We were happy with the atmosphere and the service was fast even though it was really busy. We ordered via the qr code and drinks came quickly. Our son’s food was a very good portion size for a kids meal and tasted really nice. Lastly, the drinks and meals are priced very reasonably.
