A star care home! Digby Manor is like a home from home and dad is very settled there. The residents are very well cared for by staff who really do go the extra mile. The monthly newsletter is fantastic! It shows all the wonderful activities that dad gets engaged with, which is very nice to see and reassuring for us as a family. An amazing care home. I visit weekly and the feel of the home is lovely. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the residents look very well kept. Every day there is a variety of activities put on and I particularly like their ‘National Days of Celebration’. A wonderful care home with the focus on the residents central to all that they do. A* in every way and our dad loves it there. We were concerned at first about putting him in to care, but Jane and the team have alleviated all our concerns. Thank you to everyone at Digby Manor for doing a fabulous job.

My 94 year old mother has been a resident here for approaching 2 years now. I never cease to be amazed by how well she is looked after by very professional and caring staff.She suffers from dementia but is always treated sensitively and appropriately by every one of the staff. I am incredibly relieved to know that I don’t have to worry about mom, and I am also happy in the knowledge that she is perfectly happy and content. A massive thank you to all at Digby Manor, I doubt there is a better care home anywhere.

A fantastic care home. Our dad is so happy here. He joined back in October 2019 and it is the best decision we ever made. He is so happy and the staff are wonderful. A great management team and it is lovely to see the owners so involved with the residents and families. The singers are great at getting all the residents involved and dad loves his sing a longs. My mother is in Elliot House for the second time and I can’t speak highly enough of this place. The staff work so hard, they are fantastic! always creating a happy, positive atmosphere for the residents. The house itself is a beautiful building, bright, modern though still has character and spotlessly clean. My mom and the other residents are shown constant care, respect, kindness and love as they go through this chapter of their lives. Myself and my family can’t thank you all enough. I first saw Elliott House earlier this year as my family were looking for a place for our father diagnosed with dementia.. I have some experience of care homes as my Mother was a resident in a nursing home for 8 years. On my first visit to Elliott House, I actually got upset as the the difference from my previous experience was overwhelming. The actual home is beautifully decorated with lots of areas for the residents to occupy. A lovely garden area and the residents bedrooms are a very high standard. The dining rooms are perfect and the food is great with a good choice…. but above all the staff are wonderful. They treat the residents with such respect and care… and their entertainment ladies are brilliant. I feel so lucky and relieved that my Dad is here and I can’t thank the staff enough, especially in these troubled times.. Pip

Elliott house is a brilliant place for your loved ones with dementia to live. They have a very experienced team they are kind, loving and caring. Karen the manager is the best she runs the home like clock work and has a very kind and caring nature . Everyone who visits the home are made to feel welcome. The home has beautiful gardens and the home is always clean and smelling nice . There are activities every day that suits all.
The food is tasty and they have a wonderful dining experience it’s like being in a hotel .the rooms are top notch. I would recommend anyone to go there if your looking for first class care. They are one big happy family and the atmosphere is brilliant.

My Dad has been a resident at Elliott House for 2 half years. We visited lots of homes but Elliott House was the one that stood out for us. It is lovely and clean and very well kept. The management staff are always there for you to give you help and support with your loved ones. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming and it’s the carers that stand out for us as they are so kind and caring to the residents with their individual needs, also the help and support they give each one. Lots of activities and entertainment each week and some lovely family days as well.

My partners elderly mother has been cared for at Elliott House since last July, when her current home were no longer able to give her the care she needed.
From the first visit we made, to collecting her belongings now that she is no longer with us, has been such a lovely, positive experience.
Karen and her team of carers have showed the whole family nothing but kindness, and the house and facilities are second to none.
I can happily recommend Elliott House, and congratulate them all.

Hygiene care needs to improve.
For whatever reason my has developed athletes feet and sores under her breasts since she’s been residing at EH. Management conduct is very poor. Journeying from London I was refused visitation from seeing my mother because there was an outbreak of scabies and I was not informed, Karen the manager came to the door and told me there’s nothing she can do about it, she didn’t give me another option but only slammed the door as I turned to walk away.

My Aunt has been in Elliott House for just over a year now and she is very happy there. Staff are only lovely, very friendly and seem to genuinely care for the residents that live there. lots of activities going on. its kept very clean , beautiful garden out back. During the CoVid crises iv never had a problem talking to my aunt over the phone, staff are very helpful with that .

As soon as you walk through the doors at Edgbaston Beaumont you can feel the warmth from the staff. Greeted by Helen and fantastic energy from activities coordinator Chanelle.

I visit this care home to deliver exercise to residents through my company, and I shall say what a lovely home! It has a very calming atmosphere about it, but the staff are amazing and keep spirits high simultaneously. I’ve noticed Chanelle is great with residents, there’s never a sad face when she is around!

I visit every fortnight to provide the residents with musical concerts and talks. I have always found the care home staff to be very welcoming and friendly. A very clean, caring environment and everybody appears to be well looked after. I would be most happy to recommend this care home to anybody.

Celia, my Mother, started living in this fabulous care home a few months ago and couldn’t be happier.
She has been cared for in every way possible and is thriving for it. The staff, especially Zsungai and Ethel, are constantly attentive to her needs.
She has established solid friendships with the other residents, which is a real bonus. She went into the home weighing only six stone, having been extremely unwell and in hospital for several weeks with a serious stomach issue.
The change in my Mum is remarkable, so thank you too to Rebecca who looks after my Mum’s diet.

This morning I have had the pleasure of attending Edgbaston Beaumont in a professional capacity. It has been a pleasure meeting the homes general manager Sarah and her staff, I can not praise ALL the staff highly enough for the care and dedication they give to their residents is second to none. All the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about their residents. I could not fault anything about this home. I base this on many homes I visit in my average working day.

I attended Edgbaston Beaumont Care Home to carry out educational training. When I arrived, I was made to feel welcome straight away. The Care Home is very well presented, hidden behind beautiful gardens that the rooms over look. All of the staff were very engaging and focused on quality of care first when discussing best practise. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and I would personally like to thank the manager Debi for her support! One of the best care homes I’ve been to.

First placement for a 1st year student and my experience was amazing. All the staff were so friendly and supportive, I immediately felt like part of the team. RGN Florence was my mentor and is one of a kind. A kind, bubbly teacher with heaps of patience. The management team run and maintain the nursing home with professionalism and offer the residents with quality care showered with a great sense of a homely feel for them. Edgbaston Beaumont is clean and spacious. The food is amazing!! But most of all, the patient -centered care being delivered is exceptional. Thank you all for a great first placement experience.

I visited Bourn View with the hope of both my parents moving here. The staff I met were all delightful and very helpful, taking time to understand my parents’ needs (especially Zoe and Grace). The atmosphere was calm and welcoming. All the observed interactions with residents were positive. I would not hesitate to recommend Bourn View to my parents when they choose their next step

We looked for a sponsor for our local football team and we enquired with the Bournville Trust about what they could offer the lads. They passed us to Jenna, home manager at Bourn View Care Home. She was super keen in seeing what she could do to help out the team and lads. We sent in some quotes and they kindly agreed to sponsor our away kit for the season 25/26, without sponsorship like this youth teams wouldn’t exist so we are by far indebted to Avery and Bourn View Care Home

St Giels care home has clean buildings, rooms and bathrooms. a wide range of activities for residents at home and outside. good quality food choices and options about where to eat meals. fast and easy access to health professionals, such as GPs and dentists.looking forward to join the team soon❤️❤️

We moved my mother out of there. The food was disgusting. The staff was mostly agency. We had to tell staff to shower her. Best part about it was the entertainment for residence. I certainly would not recommend putting loved ones there.

The staff are friendly and caring. St Giles feels like a home from home and it would be a place I would consider for my mom and I have recommended it to a few of my colleagues who were looking for a care home. It makes a change to see a well run care home after the horror stories you read about in the press.

Has the potential to be a great place , unfortunately the toxicity of some senior staff is in my opinion shameful. Concerns regarding care is overlooked by management. A small percentage of wonderful staff who feel undervalued, bullied, by senior staff with no sense of personal values and professionalism It’s a money making machine for the owners. What a wonderful care home which provides excellent care for its service users. The home is currently going through a renovation which will bring the environment up to compliment the care that is currently being provided. The staff are very approachable and strive to meet the needs of all service users and their relatives and friends who come to visit.

My dad stayed here for a while after a stroke and the family was disgusted with the place. Certain members of staff nurse Francis was brilliant and always friendly and the physio team were great but on numerous occasions my dad was given drinks without thickner, he had a fall on his first day there and the state of his room was disgusting. The last few days he was there, there was dirty pads piled up in bathroom, urine and wet tissue all over the floor, his bed hadn’t been changed although something had been spilt all over it. The carpet was disgusting! I’m grateful for the staff that did their job correctly but St giles needs a lot of inproving.

Initial meeting at Moundsley Hall appeared to be great and very personal.
Upon putting my father in there after a week or 2 it was truly appalling.
Constant delays in medication and pain relief. No response when raising the alarm, he would be left for 45 minutes at a time before family would have to go and clean him up.
Please do not make the mistake of sending a family member here.

I did a gig at Moundsley Hall Kensington House for one of the residents birthdays, what a fabulous place…the staff were incredible, you can openly see the level of care that is given. Thanks Helen for making me so welcome.

I am a student from cadbury college on work placement, since the moment i stepped into kensington i have been treated like family by both the staff and residents. From my time here ive seen how compassionate the staff can be towards both the residents and the families making sure they provide the best possible care, ensuring that residents enjoy their time here with fun activites and games as well as special guests.

When you go there to have a look a round they sell you a dream. Show you things that you will never be able to have access to. The care itself is awful. We had to move our family member from there as they were basically left there to rot in their room, sometimes didn’t even change their clothes. Medication was never done on time always late or missed. Also the things that went missing. Expensive things and personal belongings that went missing was disgraceful!

I have been doing my work placement at Moundsley Hall Care Village for a while now. Moundsley Hall staff are very nurturing and make residents feel comfortable and safe. I was also very comfortable working with staff and helping around where I can with the residents. I really enjoy my time here and look forward to it all the time.

I’ve been so impressed by Moundsley Hall care village. . From my initial meeting with the HR Director and the Home Manager I was met with high levels of professionalism and kindness. Their attention to detail is second to none. I have also met several residents who have all commented on how happy they are there and how they are made to feel like family. Moundsley Hall Care Village is definitely my second home. I’ve been here 17 years, and I started here on a 6 months contract and have never left. We have had some changes over the years, went from just Moundsley unit to having four others built, and then became the care village. I have done a few job rolls in the home domestic kitchen, and my heart is now head of laundry and over seeing domestics in Moundsley, which I really enjoy. Love getting involved with the residents got a very close bond with them, someone in particularly who came to my wedding, which was lovely. Love Christmas at the home, making it special for them. That’s my job, and I love seeing their faces when the trees go up. I have just received my long-term service, which was lovely to be appreciated. I think this will always be my second home x

My mom came to Austin Rose literally 3 weeks ago. In that shirt time my mom looks ten years younger and has settled in very happily.
The care home is beautiful and the rooms very comfortable. The staff are fantastic and have made my mom feel very much at home and involved with different activities, watching artists perform and taking her upstairs to their amazing cinema.
Mya acts very professional in her manager role and there is a lovely dog called Reggie who interacts with all the residents.
I would definitely recommend this establishment.

We were all very thankful for the care given to my father during his last years at Meadow Rose, so when it became necessary to find a suitable home for Mom with specialist dementia facilities, Austin Rose seemed the logical choice. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and it was great to see a familiar face in Marianne, the receptionist. The facilities are great, Mom’s room is very comfortable and the food and activities are very good. Looking forward to seeing her settling in to her new home.

Austin Rose provided the very best care for my mother. The staff were wonderful both to her, during the last six weeks of life, and to all of her many relations and friends who came to visit.
The doctor was available visiting regularly, as was the priest from St John Fisher.
For friendly 24 hour care, good food, a laundry service, warm rooms with access to entertainment from singers, a school choir one couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommend!

My Mom has just gone to live at Austin Rose The staff are all friendly and helpful and have cared and supported both the family, but especially mom settle in what has been an emotional couple of weeks.The facilities are great, and the care Mom receives is amazing, the food is great and to see mom dancing today during the activities was just lovely and such a comfort to us. Following an extended period in hospital, it became obvious that as a family we would not be able to manage the needs of my Uncle following his discharge. With this in mind we set about searching for an appropriate care facility for him who, as well as general old age issues, suffers from Vascular Dementia. Based upon several glowing recommendations, we shortlisted the Austin Rose Care Home as a potential new home for my Uncle. From my initial contact with Austin Rose through to every point of interaction, I could not find any cause for concern. I have no doubt whatsoever that all of the staff at Austin Rose were committed to providing the very best care as well as experience for those in their care and their families. This kind of outstanding care does not simply happen and can only be achieved when an organisation is run with purpose. Our contact, Mya Sharma, was a driving force behind our excellent impression of Austin Rose Care Home. Mya’s dedication to her role, colleagues and the residents of Austin Rose as well as their families is best described as perfect. As a result of Mya, her colleagues as well as our visits to the care home, I can recommend the Austin Rose facility and the wonderful care that they deliver to everyone.

I can’t say enough nice things about this home and particularly the management. They are the loveliest staff team you could ever meet. My aunt and I have been visiting my uncle in the home for over 18 months now and we now feel like family. The home manager is amazing shes so professional but so fair and robust in her approach, she will have your back when needed. The rest of the staff from the care team, the cleaners, and everyone are so friendly and approachable. My uncles care is second to none, yes there’s been a few small issues but once you raise them they are dealt with straight away if you go to the right people. Overall im so glad my we chose this home for my uncle.

I took my students and staff to visit heartlands care and nursing home. All the staff were amazing. Margaret welcomed us with a lovely warm smile. We were greeted and then shown around by the lovely Sharon. She was so welcoming and warm towards the students, she made the whole experience memorable. The students loved every minute, they are already asking when are we going back. They loved all the residents and found their trip to heartlands care and nursing home very educational. From initial enquiry, to assessment of mom in hospital, to helping her settle in and then looking after her on a daily basis since her admission, the team at Heartlands Care Home couldn’t have been more helpful, kind & professional.

It’s such a hard decision to place a loved one in a care home, but they really have made mom feel welcome and encouraged her to join in the many activities. It’s so reassuring to know she is being well looked after. Thanks all.

Hello, I visited Heartland for the first time today to see a relative.
I wanted to say how impressed I was with the cleanliness of Heartlands, and how cool and airy the building internally is.
I enjoyed seeing the various rooms on offer, and activities available for residents.
For example the ‘ pub room’ and cinema room.
I was exceptionally happy with the members of staff who were curious and offering a good choice of meal and dessert for my relative .
And how polite and happy they were.
I read the cqc report when I got home for heartlands and I do feel that after today visits the Heartlands care home in opinion should be re’
Rated as 3- 5.
My initial visiting time was that I randomly turned up to see my relative but staff were polite and as I was unaware of visit times, I was still able to visit.
Overall I am happy that my relative is here, my relative is new in heartlands and I am confident his care needs will be met.
Staff are very responsive and overall what a lovely place.

My mother has been a resident at Heartlands Care Home for over 2 years now and from day one I have been extremely pleased with how she is looked after there. She now has advanced dementia but the way that the staff handle her is wonderful. She is included in day to day activities and I feel that she is still made to feel valued despite her limitations. Visiting has been handled well with safety of residents and staff a key priority during covid lockdown but it is now good that we can again visit our loved ones. All in all it is a wonderful place for mom to spend her twilight years. Thank you to all who make it so nice.

This review is from care received in 2020.
I concur with all the bad reviews of that time, including receiving my deceased mother’s belongings (shoved at me as I waited outside the door, no condolences offered), containing half a dozen items of clothing that were not even hers – even though I purchased printed labels with her name on. Also missing a number of items that I had packed.
As it was during covid, I wasn’t allowed to see her before she was transferred to the hospital and subsequently passed away. Each time I (and 3 other family members) phoned the care home, the phone was answered by a cleaner or helper on a different floor and refused (or didn’t know how) to transfer the call.
We had very little updates and were constantly phoning trying to get information. I appreciate during COVID things were difficult, but that really should mean staff would be a bit more understanding. Mum hated it there even though it was less than a month, she would cry to come home but we weren’t allowed to pick her up as we couldn’t get access to her because of COVID rules.

Stacey was helpful but it wasn’t enough to allay our fears. Staff seemed very nice on the face of it, but look behind the smiles – I wouldn’t put my dog in there!!!

I feel pushed into writing this review, following the failings at this home. One of my close family relatives are currently here, to which I am ashamed to say.
Please find a breakdown of the issues listed below:

1. Staff – All of the staff I have seen upon every visit have not been doing their job, in supporting and helping the residents. The staff use the day room as there own personal space to go on there phones and talk amongst there self, ignoring many of the residents unless they “Have Too”. We put our trust (and money) into this home when putting our loved ones in here to be looked after, and to see this is really not acceptable.

2. Missing Items – Just like many other reviews on here, we have experienced missing items on every visit, even down to labelled clothing which clearly states who they belong to, and is never looked into properly, therefore leading the item to be classed as lost.
Other larger forms of items seem to also go missing such as wheelchairs, which are misplaced. When approaching a staff member to ask for where the residents wheelchair is, the response we get is “we had to put it in a room”. The staff then makes no effort to look for it, unless we pester them until we get a response.

3. Unattended situations – Again, like many other reviews state, we also have an issue with situations where we have seen residents unattended, and accidents have nearly happened.
One instance is just after Christmas, when we had extremely cold weather. We witnessed a relative being pushed outside for some fresh air, and almost forgotten about, as it took 15 minutes for a member of staff to bring them back in.

4. General Care – Upon getting to know a few of the other residents in the home, I have heard many occasions from the residents themselves where the correct care has not been given. This ranges from being handled a little too rough, to cream not being applied as the carers cannot be bothered.

I think a review should be conducted, from both an internal sector, and an external sector to ensure this home is up to standards, as looking at the reviews, this home has been failing so many for the last 12 months.

I am extremely concerned about the poor standards of care and lack of professionalism displayed at this facility, which have resulted in significant breaches of safety, dignity, and trust. These issues not only jeopardize the well-being of residents but also reflect a worrying lack of accountability and management oversight.
One of the most alarming incidents involved improper manual handling techniques that led to a resident falling. Despite the severity of this incident, it was not reported or addressed, highlighting a disregard for safety protocols and the welfare of residents. Such negligence is unacceptable in any care setting and raises serious questions about staff training and adherence to basic care standards.
Basic needs are frequently not being met, and the care provided is undignified. Residents are often left without proper attention to their physical and emotional well-being. For example, string was found still attached to meat served in the bain-marie, demonstrating a lack of attention to hygiene and food preparation practices. This is not only unhygienic but also poses a potential choking hazard to vulnerable residents.
In addition to these issues, there are disturbing reports of unethical behavior among staff. A nurse on the second floor has been bringing her boyfriend into the facility, falsely claiming he is a resident’s family member. This behavior is highly unprofessional and creates an uncomfortable and inappropriate environment for both residents and staff.
There have also been instances of residents being taken advantage of financially. One resident gave a staff member £20 to purchase essential items, including underwear, but the staff member returned with items that were not requested, including a visibly used t-shirt. This demonstrates a lack of respect and integrity in handling residents’ personal finances and needs.
Confidentiality, a cornerstone of professional care, is being blatantly disregarded. The administrator has been leaking private and confidential information about residents and staff to other employees. This is a clear breach of data protection regulations and undermines trust within the facility. It also creates an environment where residents and their families cannot feel secure about the handling of sensitive information.
These observations come from my daughter, who has worked at the facility for four years and has witnessed these troubling patterns of negligence and misconduct firsthand. When she handed her notice in, the manager was arwful to her. It is evident that there is a systemic failure in maintaining professional standards, ensuring resident dignity, and prioritizing safety and care.
Urgent action is needed to address these issues and implement comprehensive improvements. Staff training, stricter oversight, and a thorough review of procedures are essential to restore trust, maintain confidentiality, and ensure that residents receive the respectful and dignified care they deserve. Without immediate intervention, the well-being and safety of residents will continue to be at risk. This needs to be investigated promptly
The manager demonstrates a significant lack of people skills, and the CQC report highlights notable inadequacies, which speaks volumes about the current state of affairs. Given the ongoing issues, it is difficult to envision meaningful improvement without the implementation of serious and effective measures.
A few years ago, I worked at this care home when it was effectively managed under strong leadership. As someone who continues to work in the care sector, I have a clear understanding of basic standards of care. Unfortunately, it is evident that these standards are not being met at Clare Court.

I would never recommend this “Care Home” to anyone.
There has been a catalogue of issues with the care my family member has received.
My relative has advanced dementia. She deserves respect, care and dignity. None of which have been received.
I have been shocked by a great many things I’ve seen and heard within this place. Such as leaving her flat in bed with a food tray in front of her and left. With no ability to sit up or eat unaided. A choke hazard if she had even managed to get food.
Being left unclean and with a room that has smelt.
With carers that struggle with communicating due to language barriers. This is also mentioned in another review.
Constart overturn of staff.
Her belongings only being in her possession for a matter of days before they are all misplaced or go missing.
Not being informed of my relative being seriously unwell and even being taken to hospital with a condition that was life threatening, leaving the ambulance driver to actually inform us.
My family have complained to the home, the CQC and now again with the area managers.

I visited this care home to enquire about a stay for a relative. I was greeted by a very nice well presented receptionist Tahsena who was extremely helpful with the information she provided. A winning smile at the heart of the home, truly warming welcome! Definitely will be recommending this home to others in future!

I provided a Christmas buffet at Claire court this year and have nothing but warm and positive responses to the place as a whole. The staff are so welcoming and helpful and the building outside and inside gives you a homely feeling. I would definitely recommend any family and friends to look here first if you are in need of any of their services they provide.

We’ve been entertaining everyone there for few years now. The residents always enjoy our visits singing, clapping & dancing whenever they can.
The staff are all very caring, cheery and helpful. A home with a homely feel.

I have recently started to work for Clare Court and I am happy to be working here because the deputy manager, Nurse Sarah and the staff that I work with are very helpful and friendly.

I visited the home recently and have to say the welcome I received from the staff at the home was warm and friendly. I was given a tour of the home and saw smiling residents and staff. The rooms were clean and spacious and have their own bathroom. The staff were able to answer all of my questions and gave me information to take away and show the family.
