I had a very disappointing experience with Dua Boutique. After returning an item, I was owed a refund but it took them over a month to return my money. I had to send them a formal letter threatening legal action before they finally issued the refund.

I initially left a negative review about the situation, and instead of addressing the issue properly, they called me asking to remove the review. This kind of response shows a lack of professionalism.

While I eventually got my money back, the process was unnecessarily stressful and unprofessional. I would not recommend this business based on my experience.

I ordered 2 months ago and been chasing for weeks where is my outfit apparently the staff left and management badly managed orders I keep messaging and calling them they won’t get back to me really poor customer service. I first stumbled across Jo and The Couture Company a few years ago, long before our engagement, on YouTube where Hannah Witton described her experience of having her custom dress made. I was intrigued and parked it deep in my brain should I ever plan a wedding, and when the time came, I had a lot more experience with dress shopping and knew even more firmly that I wanted to work with Jo and her team, and booking my appointment with Jo was one of the first things that I did. There are many reasons I chose to the custom dress route. Going clothes shopping, and particularly occasionwear shopping, has always been tricky for me because I’m inbetween sizes and my large chest (a H cup) never fits properly. I knew that I didn’t want a plain white dress, I loved the 1950s style and wanted a shorter, tea-length dress.

I took these very hazy, not even half-baked ideas to Jo who listened dutifully and after only a 45 minute whatsapp call, with poor signal to boot, was able to sketch out my dream dress (that I didn’t even know could exist!). Over the next three appointments we iterated on the design, and Jo created a dress that not only exceeded my expectations, but made me feel so special on the day. When discussing the aforementioned bra problem before, Jo suggested she create me a corset to go with the dress and although I was hesitant, I did trust Jo and it paid off massively. I never felt self-conscious on the day and it held up to a proper two-hour Scottish ceilidh followed by lots of dancing, which is no mean feat! Jo was also incredibly supportive with my mum who came to my appointments with me – my mum is deaf and Jo was very patient in showing her how to lace up the corset and dress, and even filmed a video on my phone that we could refer to on the day.

I can’t put into words how grateful I am to Jo and her team for working with me on my dress. It was well worth all the trips we made from Glasgow to Birmingham, and the way I felt on the day in my dress was truly priceless. I can’t wait to find other opportunities to wear my dress, and to receive the rest of our wedding photos so I can show it off more!

I found Jo and The Couture Company at EWE in March 2023.
I was a 2024 bride and had just begun my search for a wedding dress.
I would describe myself to be a little quirky in my style but not overly what would be considered ‘alternative’. There was a part of me that still wanted a more traditional style white wedding dress, however I had visited several local bridal studios by this point to no avail.
After meeting Jo at the fair, I made an initial appointment and as soon as I walked into the studio I thought ‘Yes, this is a bit of me’.
The appointment consisted of trying on some of the beautiful sample dresses and working through ideas, likes/dislikes. Jo and the team make you feel completely at ease with nothing to much trouble. I left that first appointment with a deposit paid, a pencil drawing of my dream wedding dress and an overwhelming sense of relief that I had found The Couture Co.
I then had 3 appointments in the 3 months leading up to my wedding 2024, with the final appointment/dress collection a couple of weeks prior.
My dress was exactly what I wanted with splash of colour and sparkle to reflect my ‘slightly quirky’ style, but it also still felt like a traditional wedding dress.
During the design process, I had sent Jo photos of my wedding shoes and the colours of my bridesmaid’s dresses, so that these could be incorporated. The handmade embroidery was beautifully detailed, and I absolutely LOVED the coloured buttons. Everything went together perfectly. My dress was also wonderfully lightweight which was perfect for my summer wedding.
Just on price point as well, my one-of-a-kind dress was cheaper than some of the dresses I had previously tried on!
Overall, what Jo and all the Couture Co do its just magic. It is an incredibly wonderful, colourful and inclusive bridal studio and I would recommend them to anyone.
Thank you all so much for my amazing wedding dress, which I will treasure forever.

Jo says she’s a dressmaker, but I think she may be an actual magician, as her creations are pure witchcraft!! I knew I wanted a Couture Co dress even before I was engaged, and from the moment I walked into the studio I knew in my bones this was going to be an epic experience! I had a vague idea of what I was after, tried on a few dresses and then in a flick of her wrist, Jo sketched out my absolute dream dress (add in mind-reading to magic abilities)!

Every fitting I had was gorgeous, Jo and her team make you feel so welcome and her ethos of inclusivity really shines through. I’m short, curvy and disabled and at no point did I feel anything but celebrated. The dress I came away with made me feel beautiful and met my random brief of “think Stevie Nicks crossed with Galadriel” perfectly!
On top of being a brilliant dressmaker, Jo is a top-notch, excellent person and I feel super lucky to have found her!

In short, if you’re after a wedding dress made for you, with no limitations, RUN, DON’T WALK to the Couture Company!

Jo and her team were amazing right from my first visit. Jo seemed to understand exactly what I wanted and designed the perfect dress for me. Then the whole team crafted all the stunning aspects of my dress, including hand sewn flowers, and were even able to embroider a quote using my dad’s handwriting on the underskirt. I was made very welcome and comfortable during all my fittings and when I did my final try on, I must admit I cried because it was all so beautiful. The team also made me a matching headpiece that was amazing.
If you are looking for something a bit different, at a very reasonable price, then I highly recommend the Couture Company. I love my dress and Jo intuitively understood what I wanted and made me the dress of my dreams.

Me and my husband visited on 7th august 2023 at such short notice for a mehndi outfit for my husband. Due to his work, we had 2 leave it almost 2 weeks before the mehndi and he is a plus size. So getting something in a larger size meant getting it ordered but not getting it back in time. We were recommended ADS by a few shops for larger size. The lady who dealt with us found my husband a shalwar kameez and a waist coat which was reasonably priced.

My Brother sherwani fitted well and the design was according to how he wanted it, he had shown Adnan bai picture of a sherwani which he made exactly to the design shown by my brother. The package includeded shoes, Inner kurta,Jewellery,hat and scarf which were given to us for a very unbeatable price AND WE LOOKED IN ALOT OF SHOPS FROM MANCHESTER TO LONDON. The grooms men had ordered 10 waistcoats which came on time.

Mark provides some of the most unique and beautiful fashion in the UK today. The choices of designs and materials are agonized over, the quality of the construction is perfection and Mark is a joy to talk to. The best feature is that the store is local, all their goods are designed locally, by them, and here’s the best bit – locally made! No sweat shop child labour here, just good, honest work. A massive shout out to BAZ the brummie fan. He actually got a colleague to try an Aquascutum Harrington style Jacket on for me and then advised me to get the XXXL size.

Been buying outfits from them for a while and unfortunately last week we brought an outfit and the back half of the kameez shrunk by more than 3inches, the outfit hadn’t been worn. Took it back to the shop and experienced unprofessionalism, they wouldn’t exchange the outfit let alone give partial refund. We spoke to the man himself as the manager wasn’t calling him and faced nothing but unprofessional behaviour. Ended up leaving the suit there and got no refund so was in double loss. I purchased a beautiful £130 outfit last year in store for a family wedding and recently ordered my Eid clothes through their WhatsApp number, as I don’t live nearby. The store regularly shares outfit updates via WhatsApp stories, which I’ve found helpful as a remote customer.

However, a recent interaction made me uncomfortable. After I replied to one of their WhatsApp stories with a simple “Eid Mubarak” – as I’ve done before with businesses I’ve supported. I received a reply but later a photo that felt inappropriate, a casual photo of the business owner that didn’t feel suitable for customer exchange.

I’ve since deleted the conversation, as I felt discomfort, but felt it was worth sharing this experience. It also helped me understand why a few previous reviewers mentioned discomfort working for or engaging with this business.

The outfits are elegant and well-made, and my past shopping experience with the product itself has been positive. That makes it even more disappointing to have this kind of unprofessional interaction. I hope the feedback is taken seriously.

Today me and my partner went in to look at men’s jewellery, and the man that served us was rude and snobby, and would not share any information on the rings or sizes due to the fact we wanted to look online, which was strange as the prices were more expensive in store than online. Spend over £400 on a bag. Wasn’t used and the print has faded and has discoloured. After only having the bag a month. Manager took photos and sent them off however they are not prepared to do anything. I also mentioned the scandal of people returning fake good and them selling them. The manager denied all of this even though it’s been in the news. Very disappointed, certainly not a luxury buying experience. No different than buying a £10 bag from Primark, in fairness they probably would give better service. Would certainly avoid!

I have been sent a faulty watch twice and i was promised that they will double check the watch before its send out to me. Received the replacement and the watch is not working again. Called them 10 times or more and seems like whenever i call thats when they decide to send me an email or act on the problem. On the they said is a warehouse issue. I dont understand why the warehouse would send out watches with dead batteries. Then i opted for a 3rd replacement then all of sudden they cancelled it and said its out of stock when its still available online. Very inconvenient as its a gift and just messed everything up. Came in store and the staff told me that they cant help as its an online order and that the warehouse always send watches that do not work.

Item also came in a zip lock bag rather than a gift box considering its a luxury designer store

But I shall Worn you about this place .
I would worn any one who wants to work here! You think the name and clothing they sell is high end and luxury.. It is..

but THE MANAGER IS A BULLY!
and all the part timers 0 – Contract staff are scared to death to voice there opinion on anything as he holds it against them and has his favourites.so only gives his favourite longer shift.

Full time staff are made to work over there shifts constantly and not paid for it or given in time back..Especially if you just had a holiday and come back to work…

He uses the rota as a tool to stress you out and you could work up to 7-8 days with out a day off.
He always convieantly books his days off around big events .
such as New window display due in or big delivery’s Which normally get left to the very hard working assistant manager and team.

Staff are made to feel stupid on shop floor by he’s constant shouting out ,
when a customer Enquiries about a item of stock, You go to scan it and look,but he shouts out we got none…and then you see we have…? So you have to run to back secretly…

It’s a miserable place to work as staff have to follow customers around ,
due to amount of thief’s they have in store… and how expensive stock is..

They hear customers speak to each other about us following them.. but the staff do feel horrible doing it too.
There no training your are meant to learn a long the way and rules change constantly ,
as staff don’t last and leave as quickly as they came.
As carnt stand the atmosphere..
He controls all visual merchandising ,
no staff are allowed to try!
He just change it, it’s his store.
He has his own rules as he don’t follow Flannels Vm rules…he been there to long for him to change..
so you have to gusse what right…

Dinner is half a hour only and that changes sometime 45 mins depending on shift.
But he sneaks breakfast every morning under his paper and pops out all the time for cigarettes..

New staff when you try to get your sales and commission be prepared.
he don’t care he has the biggest commission sales in store and will tread all over you to get it!…and shout at you in front of customers if you get it wrong…

But the staff there have great love for the brands that’s why the try to stay..
Looks great in your cv but if your not thick skinned forget it…

To all the customers that read this please don’t be angry with the staff there controlled by a manager who is not managed and gets away with everything…

I visited Flannels on New Street, Birmingham, this morning to purchase Gucci jewellery after seeing it at Flannels website, but my experience was far from satisfactory. As a brown skinned Asian individual, I was deeply disappointed by the behavior of the staff, particularly one who made me feel unwelcome and judged. From the moment I entered the store, there was no greeting or acknowledgment, only uncomfortable stares, as if I was there for the wrong reasons.

After several unsuccessful attempts to get assistance, I finally received a response, but it was delivered in a rude and dismissive tone: “We don’t stock Gucci jewellery in-store.” This level of service stands in stark contrast to the friendly and welcoming experience I consistently receive at the Flannels store in Meadowhall, Sheffield.

This visit left me feeling disheartened and unwelcome. It not only ruined my day but also made me question the professionalism and inclusivity of the staff at this location. I strongly recommend avoiding this store if you value respectful and courteous customer service. It’s disheartening to see such behavior, and I hope the management takes steps to address these issues.

If you purchase from this shop and want to return (despite still in packet, tags on, not worn etc.) you are issued with a credit note instead of a full refund, which is unlike all other high end fashion retailers. Whilst the young staff are friendly and helpful the manager appears really miserable and unhelpful despite him working there years… I really think he’s in the wrong job.
After I’ve used my £200 credit note I’ll never use flannels again.

Went to this shop yesterday and returned today.
They have a good variety of clothes and sizes (up to XL) and good range of prices too.

On Sunday, there was a lady who served us, very polite and helpful.. really good customer service.

Came again today to see if we could find a couple more suits to finish our wedding shopping. This time we were served by a guy, also very helpful and good customer service.

Five stars all around, we will be back for more shopping the next time a wedding comes around!

From beginning to end, my experience at Luxe was so smooth. Esha handled my order and was so helpful throughout.

Even when I had doubts and wasn’t sure about colours etc, I was able to contact Abdul for advice on other colour options and he was available to advise me on what works etc.

My final outfit turned out beautiful, and I am still up-cycling it for family weddings because I love it. I will return here for all future events.

I had used a different shop for my baraat day and they were unable to deliver the same immaculate customer service as Luxe.

You will get quality and affordable designs at Luxe, with the authentic Pakistani style design you’re looking for.
