Did the tour at 12:30 today. An excellent hour of history, information and sights of the centre of Birmingham from the canal waterways. If you are ever in the area this is a must do trip. Very reasonable pricing and a great presenter with live commentary. Great way to see the new and the old architecture in the UK’s second largest city. Thank you.

What an excellent way to spend an hour or so in Birmingham on the canal.

Charlotte was great and steered us safely through the canals for this informative tour of the canals.
As a party of 3 (including my less than mobile mother) we had a lovely, relaxing time.

They were very helpful with her walking frame and helping her onto the boat. Everyone was considerate and patient.

A great multi generational experience.
Learnt a lot about the canals too
Plus it’s very good value

Had an excellent experience with Brindley Cruises. Our guide Chris gave a fascinating and entertaining talk for the hour long cruise, pointing out landmarks and points of interest along our route. Axel, our captain steered us safely and calmly along the route, while the hostess (whose name escapes me ) was on hand to manage ticket purchase and drinks dispensing as well as lookout on narrow bends. Prices of drinks on board were super value, but it was a tad early for us on this occasion!
Our only downside to comment on… small but a point worth making… is that there is no advance booking, so if you’re with a large group there is no guarantees of getting on the cruise you planned as its first come first served. The method of paying on board (correct cash or card) also seemed slightly awkwardly managed and risked some people not actually paying. Why not sell tickets in advance so both problems could be solved? This aspect certainly didn’t spoil OUR experience, as we were queuing early (20 mins beforehand), but we did see a large group of 30 extended family members unable to board and have to hang about for the next cruise (1.5hrs!). Whatever, though, this cruise is highly recommended

Me and my daughter came to Brindley place for the sea life centre and saw the boat as we were leaving. She loved being on the boat as did I. The price was good and they also serve alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages at really good prices. The tour itself was brilliant and very informative. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice chilled time going along the canal.

Really informative tour, helped my family board, our daughter is a wheelchair user and i emailed weeks in advance to confirm if they could accommodate her.

It took a couple of days to recieve a reply but pleased with the response. We stored the wheelchair on the roof, although there Isnt a dedicated accessible entrance, we were helped with our belongings and assisted onboard.

Once the trip finished, assistance was offered again and wheelchair was in good order.

Trip itself was very interesting, our guide was very informative and entertaining. Driver was helpful and confident navigating the boat. We’d definitely consider a private hire and will look to take the trip again in the future.

⭐ From Birmingham to the Cotswolds and back, everything was flawless – thanks to Perleny Tours and Misha!

We joined the Perleny Tours Cotswold trip on 12th September 2025 and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The entire tour was well planned, economical, and organised to perfection, making it great value for money.

The coach journey from Birmingham and back was very comfortable, with smooth travel and everything running on time. Our guide, Misha, deserves a special mention. He was highly knowledgeable, sharing a wealth of history, local stories, and cultural insights that brought each village to life. What impressed us most was his considerate approach—he paid attention to everyone’s needs, gave clear guidance, and ensured that the pace suited all travellers.

The highlight for us was Bourton-on-the-Water, where Misha’s explanations about the museums, local heritage, and charming bridges made the visit especially meaningful. There was also a perfect balance of guided commentary and free time to explore on our own.

We came back with wonderful memories and would wholeheartedly recommend Perleny Tours and Misha for anyone wishing to experience the Cotswolds in comfort and depth.

It was an amazing day of travel with my family
We were able to see the famous historical monuments and get into that historical atmosphere
Our bus was very comfortable, our guide Daniel greeted us warmly and accompanied us throughout the trip. We had enough time to explore Stonehenge with the museum and the Roman baths in Bath. There was also time to enjoy the beautiful views and architecture of the streets of Bath and eat the most delicious ice cream
There is access to the audio guide and choose your language!

I have purchased Family tickets ( 4 adults + 1 Infant for free) via Groupon and the tour was supposed to be for May but due to rainy day it was cancelled. Instead, we were offered for FREE Birmingham – Cotswolds Full-Day Tour which was amazing and momorable day.

We were offered to choose next available slot which was on 18th July 2025 for free.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a day trip to Stonehenge and Bath with Perlyny Tours on 18th July 2025, and I can confidently say it was one of the most well-organized and enjoyable tours I’ve ever taken. From start to finish, the entire journey was smooth, informative, and unforgettable. The travel guide lady was awesome.

The booking process was simple and efficient, and communication leading up to the trip was clear and helpful. On the day of the tour, our guide greeted us warmly and set a friendly tone for the entire group at 08.45 AM, on time. The vehicle was clean, spacious, and comfortable, making the drive between destinations very pleasant.

We reached Stonehenge at 12.30 PM with 5 minutes short break, we were given ample time to explore and absorb the mystery of this iconic landmark. We were given 1.5 hours to explore the insights. It was meant to be 2 hrs but due to traffic delayed. Our guide provided fascinating historical insights that truly enhanced the experience. The visit was perfectly timed to avoid crowds, which allowed for great photo opportunities and a more peaceful exploration. We were back in the van at 1400 and departed for Bath. I recommend everyone to book Stonhenge ticket in advance as it wil be expensive on the booking site, sometimes you might not find ticket slot.

We reached bath at 15.00. We were given 3 hours enjoy in Bath. In Bath, we enjoyed a scenic tour of the city and had time to explore the Roman Baths and charming Georgian architecture. The guide’s commentary was both engaging and educational, blending historical facts with local legends and a touch of humor. We never felt rushed and appreciated the balance of guided information and personal free time.

What truly set Perlyny Tours apart was their attention to detail and customer care. The guide was attentive to everyone’s needs, ensured we stayed on schedule without feeling pressured, and even shared tips on the best local spots to grab a quick bite.

This trip was more than just sightseeing—it was a beautifully curated experience that left a lasting impression. I highly recommend Perlyny Tours to anyone looking for a professional, warm, and enriching day trip to Stonehenge and Bath. They truly go above and beyond.

I hope Perlynn Tours provide more day trips to other places in the UK as well. I express my heartfelt thank you to Perlynn Tours.

We were fortunate enough to end up with a “private” tour just for the two of us, and that made for a delightfully warm, intimate and extremely fun experience. I can’t recommend My Tours Ltd enough! I’ve travelled with them on several holidays, including trips to Disneyland Paris, Haven Devon (twice), Barry Island for a day trip, and Gulliver’s Kingdom.

The booking process with My Tours is easy and smooth, with no stress or worrying—plus they even offer payment plans, which is a great help when planning ahead.

The service provided by the coach drivers has always been professional and friendly. We watched films on the coach, had access to toilets, and there were convenient stop-offs for breaks midway through the journeys.

Thank you for consistently making our travel experiences smooth and enjoyable!

Wow, what an amazing coach day trip we had to Barry Island and Gulliver’s Kingdom! I can’t express how much my family and I enjoyed every moment of it. From the moment we boarded the coach, we knew we were in for a fantastic adventure.
Barry Island was simply delightful! The sandy beaches and sea breeze were so refreshing, and it was the perfect spot for some quality family time. The kids had a blast building sandcastles, and we all enjoyed strolling along the promenade, taking in the beautiful views. It felt like a little slice of paradise.
Then, we headed to Gulliver’s Kingdom, and let me tell you, it was an absolute thrill! The rides and attractions were so much fun, and we couldn’t get enough of the excitement. The kids were all smiles, and even us adults couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. It was like a dream come true for the whole family.
I must say, the coach journey was a breeze too. The seats were comfortable, and we had a smooth ride throughout the trip. Our tour guide was incredible, always keeping us entertained with interesting stories and facts about the places we visited. It made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, I can’t recommend this coach day trip enough. It was the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure, and we created so many wonderful memories together. Big thanks to the organizers for putting together such a fantastic itinerary. We’re already looking forward to our next family outing!

I went on the ‘from canals and Victorian’s to today’s city’ tour yesterday and would highly recommend it. Jonathan was an excellent guide, we were told lots of interesting facts and covered quite a lot of ground. Headphones are used, which means that you can easily hear everything that’s being said.

I’m not familiar with Birmingham and this tour allowed me to see parts of the city that I wouldn’t otherwise have seen. The route that we followed was well thought out and passed a good mix of sights.

Definitely worth the price!

What a brilliant tour! Jonathan, the organiser as well as our guide on the day, is a very approachable and knowledgeable person who treated us like old friends, with a group photo to boot. We had overseas visitors on our tour, some of whom couldn’t speak much English, but Jonathan kept them involved by relating aspects of Birmingham to their home country. Indeed, along with his wit, Jonathan adapts his narrative to the audience to keep them engaged.

Although a walking tour, we didn’t find it physically taxing at all as most of the attractions are centrally based. We went on a very gentle amble, and with audio headsets, it didn’t matter if we lagged a little behind.

We learned both historical and geographical facts about Birmingham that have made it a leading city in the world for industrial and cultural innovation, including references to bands that have achieved wide international fame.

Whilst having been on many tours around the world, this is the first one where we have been handed a substantial complimentary tour guide (produced by Jonathan) at the end and where prizes have been handed out along the way.

I was like a bull at a gate when I saw this tour (pun intended). Seriously though, it was great and such good value for money! I learnt so much on it. I had no idea that Birmingham was the no.1 city in the UK for public art, for instance. What’s interesting though is that even though I’m Australian there were so many locals from Brum and the area on it. In addition to showing us all the sites, we got a free book and Jonathan also went out of his way to recommend me a great spot for me to have lunch at, at the university. Thanks so much. Would recommend to any one going to Birmingham or any one already there any time! I also did the Canals & Victorians to Today’s City, which I’d also recommend.

We’re in Birmingham for the Commonwealth Games and what better way to explore the city than on a run, such a great idea from Lucy who started run of a kind. We got to see and learn about much more than if we walked/ran ourselves and it was great to learn about the city from a local. Despite being a lifelong Brummie I learned loads of new facts and stories about the my city and its history, and saw a few new places along the way. As a novice runner I was a bit nervous about whether I’d be able to keep up or not, but the pace was really relaxed and there were plenty of stops to hear about our surroundings.
Lucy was really lovely and welcoming, she introduced herself and got the group to do the same, and very soon we were all chatting to each other while running between the sights. By the end of the tour we had all made some new friends and I was really surprised at how much ground we had covered.
I’d recommend it to anyone, and will definitely be going back when covid restrictions are lifted.

Absolutely LOVE!!! RUN OF A KIND!
Such a great way to see the city. Lucy took us to so many places I would never have seen otherwise. We learnt a lot about the history of Birmingham, lots of interesting facts. The pace was perfect, not too quick or slow, whatever works best for the group. They’re always super friendly too. We stopped at the pub for a nice social afterwards as well which was optional but really adds to the friendly social feel. Would 100% recommend.

Such a great way to see different parts of Birmingham, learn some fun facts and meet some lovely people (all while going for a run)! Even as someone who’s lived in Birmingham nearly 10 years I still learned a lot and really enjoyed it. I’d definitely recommend booking onto one of their running tours whether you’re new to Brum or not.

Birmingham Beer Bike offers a truly unique and memorable experience. The whole concept is brilliant – a pedalling pub crawl! It’s a fantastic way to see the city and have a laugh with friends. The staff are clearly dedicated to providing a fun and engaging atmosphere, ensuring everyone enjoys themselves.

The pedal power aspect adds a playful element, and it’s a brilliant way to get a little bit of exercise without really noticing. It’s a genuinely refreshing and different take on a traditional night out, and a really great value for the entertainment provided. Highly recommended!

Declan was an awesome driver, music was great, weather was great, vibes were good and the downhills were even better. I would give 1 star just to the uphills but that’s more because 6 very unfit lads were on it with 2 extra lads being the true horsepower and driving force.
Over all a great experience and both Thanos and Declan were great fun. Highly recommended

Honestly it’s a pointless experience. On arrival into Sherlock street our group were taken back by the smell. The industrial estate was covered in human excrement and the whole street smelt of bodily fluids. We were even met by yogurt pots with uses needles sticking out of it…. extremely dangerous to anyone’s health and safety. But still we tried our best to make it OK for our Stag. The bike itself wasn’t maintained and was really unkept and quite honestly safety police should have taken this off the road. Bits of metal were falling off it as we rode it. Bike seats and back rests were all broken and falling apart. Cold beer was sold to us in the itinerary but what we recieved was warm beer that hadn’t even seen a cube of ice let alone some type of fridge.
Complaints were made at the time but the 2 members of the team were doing what they could with what they had. DONT waste your money or your own health and safety on this shoddy operation. It might be a fantastic ride In a different area where the bikes are maintained. But in all seriousness save your money and do something else.
Expensive for the experience you get.

As an organiser using Mary was a delight. We corresponded by email and on the day text. It all went very smoothly. We had 55 members on the coach tour lead by Mary round the highlights of Birmingham which there are many. Birmingham is a city that keeps reinventing itself and Mary was able to blend the old and new in a steamless informative way. Everyone enjoyed the coach tour including the coach driver. Thank you Mary for making our visit to Birmingham so enjoyable and as an organiser so easy.

Birmingham offers a wide variety of guided tours, catering to different interests. You can find tours focusing on the city's industrial history, canal network, architecture, street art, or even historical figures. Some tours are walking tours, while others might utilize boats or even buses to cover more ground.

How much do guided tours typically cost?

The cost of a guided tour in Birmingham can vary considerably based on the tour’s duration, theme, and the group size. Generally, you can expect to pay anywhere from £10 to £30 per person for a standard walking tour. More specialized or private tours will likely be more expensive, possibly costing £50 or more.

Are guided tours suitable for children?

Whether a tour is suitable for children depends on the tour's theme and duration. Many walking tours covering historical sites might be too long or complex for younger children. However, tours focusing on canal life or interactive elements are often well-suited for families. It's important to check the tour description for age recommendations and potential limitations.

How long do most guided tours last?

The duration of a guided tour typically ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours. Shorter tours, often focusing on a specific area or theme, can last around 90 minutes. Longer, more comprehensive tours exploring broader areas of the city can extend up to 3 hours or more. Confirming the exact duration beforehand is always a good idea.

What should I wear and bring on a guided tour?

When participating in a guided tour, it’s crucial to wear comfortable shoes as you’ll likely be doing a significant amount of walking. Dress appropriately for the weather, considering layers are often useful. It’s a good idea to bring a bottle of water, and you may want to bring a camera to capture the sights. A small bag or backpack can be helpful for carrying your belongings.

Do I need to book a guided tour in advance?

While some tours might be available on a walk-up basis, it’s highly recommended to book in advance, especially during peak season or for popular tours. Booking ensures your place on the tour and prevents disappointment. Online booking platforms are often the easiest way to secure your spot.

Are guided tours accessible for people with disabilities?

Accessibility can vary greatly between different guided tours. Some tours might be wheelchair accessible, while others might involve uneven terrain or stairs. It's important to inquire about the tour's accessibility features before booking, particularly if you or someone in your group has a disability. Contacting the tour operator directly is the best way to confirm details.

What happens if it rains during the guided tour?

Most guided tours proceed rain or shine. Participants are generally expected to be prepared for inclement weather. It’s advisable to bring an umbrella or rain jacket. Occasionally, tours might be canceled or rescheduled due to severe weather conditions. The tour operator should notify participants in advance of any such changes.

Can I take photographs during the guided tour?

Generally, photography is permitted during guided tours. However, it’s important to be mindful of other participants and avoid blocking their views. Flash photography might be discouraged at certain sites. Always be respectful of historical artifacts and follow any specific instructions provided by the tour guide.

What level of fitness is required to participate in a guided tour?

The required fitness level varies depending on the tour. Most walking tours involve a moderate amount of walking, so a reasonable level of physical fitness is generally needed.
