Excellent hotel in an amazing location – right in the heart of the city next to Grand Central mall and New Street station. The rooms were large, clean and very comfortable. Only issue was the restaurant had a problem with the catering supplier and there were many items on the menu missing (hence the 1 star less). Otherwise on the whole I do recommend and would happily return as you simply can’t beat the location.

Excellent location, just right by the Birmingham New Street train station (when you leave via the exit that leads to the street markets – I hope this description is detailed enough).
It was a triple room I got, was spacious enough, neat and had great views of the city centre – I posted some shots from the room view.
Breakfast was great, the usual Premier Inn standard. The only thing for me was locating the reception. When you walk in, what you see in front of you are the lifts. You need to take them to the first floor upstairs , which is where the reception is. I struggled to figure out where the reception is, thankfully, someone walked in and directed me. Not sure I saw a sign to give guests this direction. Even if there is, it should be made distinct and clearly visible.

I stayed here with my wife and kids to enjoy the Christmas market and to take the kids on the polar express. Great location too. We went for breakfast and were told we could not unless we pre booked. No one told us this at check in. The restaurant was completely empty and the waitress was sitting on a table on her phone. We witnessed another family get the same treatment and we recommended the ‘grand central kitchen’ which we found down the road. We Had to roam the morning streets full off drunks shouting and swearing in front of my two young kids. Not to mention the broken glass and litter everywhere out the front early in the morning. Always love a premier for value and especially the breakfast. Will never stay at new street ever again!!!!

I love Premier inns and this was one of the best out of very many I have stayed in. Location was so convenient for New Street station, right in the city centre but so quiet in the room. Room was spacious and warm with a lovely view over the Christmas markets. It looked as if it had been refurbished/ modernised recently, nice walk in shower and comfortable chair in the room. Staff were super friendly and helpful, I would have loved to stay longer, just had one night to attend a wedding. Brilliant stay.

Conveniently situated hotel, less than 5 minutes walk from Birmingham New Street train station. It’s amid all the local shops and walking distance to the high street and Bullring shopping centre.
Unfortunately outside and leading into the building smells unsanitary due to constant urination
Amenities within the hotel are reasonable with a restaurant available for serving food with a bar.

Hostel is located in a somewhat scruffy area very close to Digbeth coach station. However it is modern and welcoming with friendly staff. All guest facilities are of a good standard. What let’s it down is the non stop pop music played in the lounge/dining area at an intrusive volume. It makes reading or casual chat very difficult.

A good place to stay if you are late arriving in Birmingham as it’s 24hr check-in. Staff were excellent. Rooms clean but basic but ideal for those on a budget. Some of the decor needs attention as the wallpaper in my room was a bit shabby and peeling. But overall a good place to stay with a help-yourself breakfast included.

4 star by hostel standards. Private single room is about the size of a cell for a very well behaved prisoner, plus en suite. Walls of the room were all scuffed up and chipped which added to this ambience. Check-in was easy.

Good shower.

Came with multiple clean towels.

Comfy bed.

One of the plug sockets didn’t work.

Room comes with a little kettle, mug and tea / coffee making equipment which again, adds to the lovely prison theming.

Did not use communal spaces.

Location feels sketchy but I’m not sure if it actually is or is just industrial. Has some nice street art.

Hands down the best Hostel. It’s well located specifically if traveling by coach or even train. The staff are amazing, the beds are comfortable and rooms are really clean. If they did a subscription, I will be first in line. They should definitely open up in more locations!

The fact that you have applied for a full license review citing excessive noise levels for a local independent grassroots music venue speaks volumes, no pun intended, about your business approach. Never let money get in the way of culture, eh? Best of luck with your future

Recently stayed at Hotel Holloway and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The early check-in was greatly appreciated, and we were delighted to find a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us in the room. It would have been a nice touch to have some plastic cups provided, but that was a minor detail in an otherwise fantastic welcome.

The hotel room was impeccably clean and had a lovely fragrance, making it feel inviting. The bathroom was equally spotless, and the shower was perfect—just the right pressure and temperature.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. It did take a few minutes to get used to the electronic buttons for everything, but once we did, it added a modern touch to our stay.

Overall, Hotel Holloway exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We stayed here for 1 night in a private room for our group. It was a spacious room with 4 beds. Lots of sockets to charge our phones and watches, clean room, and our own bathroom. It was decently priced and the staff were kind. A 15 minute walk into the main city centre but it was nice seeing a different side to the city

Close to the city centre. Staff welcoming and friendly, Lovely converted industrial building with many original features. Good communal areas, including main foyer/bar/ cafe including a small shop. Communal Gym, sitting room and kitchen at top of building. Room was small and basic but this was clearly communicated at time of booking. Paid for additional continental breakfast which was substantial. Communication before arrival was good although on line check-in a little confusing as I had booked a room with towels but at check in was informed towels cost £4, so I booked one just to be safe. When we arrived the clerk was unaware that our room stated it came with towels, however when I explained this she did give us towels. The main issues were with the shared bathrooms. Our booking details said we would share a bathroom with no more than 4 rooms, however although there was one small single shower room with toilet and a larger bathroom with more showers and toilets, only one shower on the whole floor was able to be used and only 2 toilets. One of those did not flush properly and I twice had to clean someone else’s mess away. I needed somewhere cheap and at short notice, so this fitted the bill, although I have since discovered other hotels with their own bathrooms at a similar price in this area. Apart from the bathroom issues I would stay again.

Really nice hostel, lovely modern design, well priced, staff are very friendly however just in the wrong place. The area around feels a bit unsafe and there is a club just down the road meaning there was quite a hit of noise through the night. However didn’t impact stay largely, would recommend!

We stayed for a couple of nights here and it was acceptable. The staff were very friendly and the reception area is nice, so that was a good start. Our room and bathroom however were poor. The walls must be made of paper because you can hear everything from the hallway, other rooms, and especially other bathrooms. We faced the street and you could hear people walking by. If you’re not a light sleeper and all you’re looking for is a place to sleep and shower, this will do, but otherwise I recommend you keep looking.

Rooms comfortable enough but those by the street are single glazed. Men out talking on the street well after midnight, doors slamming. Don’t accept a room on the street side if you want to sleep. Receptionist was apologetic and very accommodating finding another room (at 1am!) NB Towels £4 extra.

A place feels like home. The stay was indeed memorable. The rooms are nice but the architecture is old (although it’s great if you are looking for old British heritage). Bus service is at the doorstep. It’s in the midway of the city centre and Universities (such as UCB and UoB).
You won’t feel homesickness here.

It’s a nice clean place but kind of hostel where you have to update your timings when you come and go and you can’t get anyone there, you can’t smoke or drink, if you’re a girl you’re not allowed to where shorts in common areas like dining room and kitchen. But there’s a plus point, once in a week your room is cleaned. Also if you don’t was your utensils for more than 4days then it would be thrown out without your consent. There’s domo pizza just outside the door of YMCA and Tesco is roughly 2mins walk, Morrisons is 20mins walk and 2 stops aways by bus.

I stayed there for 1 year, I’ve only recently moved on to my own flat. The rooms are clean with a bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers for all of your belongings. Meals are provided twice daily, breakfast is bacon, sausage, beans ect or a continental type and evening meals are varied with pudding and of a good standard . The staff are friendly, helpful and do not judge anyone. They also provide a support worker who will help as little or as much you want, obviously all people are different and some require more help than others. Overall, St Anne’s Hostel provides stability and a safe environment for men who have fallen on hard times for whatever reason and gives them a chance to turn things around and get back on with life.

Although missing some of the basics, such as a lock or even a handle on the bathroom door, curtains that actually fit the beautiful window, and a wardrobe that doesn’t lean on you everytime you open it, it was okay. Very run down rooms. And currently undergoing renovations. But the staff, esp the 2 gentlemen on the front were great. No job was too big or small. Huge car park (free) and rooms were a decent size. Furniture requires upgrading, but room contained fridge, microwave and kettle! Handy location too.

Coming to stay at this property is probably what it feels like to be in hiding. As you stare at the dirt on the walls at 2am, kept awake by the screaming of the other guests and shouting of yardies in the road outside it gives you pause to evaluate your life choices so far. The shared bathroom has one dirty, broken shower cubicle and a leaking toilet. The kitchen facilities are unusable as the washing machines are always full and the surfaces covered in dirty plates and leftover food. The three-piece suite is a nice touch but it’s outside the front of the property and somewhat weathered. You’re basically paying to stay in a squat. However the room was warm and the bed was clean.

The room is large and the facilities and sanitation are good. There is a bus stop nearby, 15 minutes to the city center

1.The owner will not actively inform the check-in method. You need to call.
2.The worst is the kitchen. The tenants are not self-disciplined. The kitchen utensils and food used are left for many days and no one handles them. Hygiene is worrisome
3.Not wifi support at 00:00~12:00pm

Eerie to stay in would not recommend. When we arrived the front door was left open, boarded up window and door with metal, no answer on the phone, no clear instructions to where the key was, our room door ended up being open and the key in the lock box didn’t work and the room keys left in the door, plus screaming, shouting and banging from other guests from 5am-10am, unclean and heating didn’t work. Overall uncomfortable and terrible, avoid.
