Really friendly staff, the eggs Benedict was amazing as were the side of sausages. The price was really fair and it was a nice touch having such a polite and attentive waitress. Also great to see plates being removed from table when people have finished. Probably one of the best wetherspoons I have frequented

Basic hotel room with everything we needed. Plenty of tea, coffee etc. Friendly staff, excellent location. Pub was very busy and very noisy although we couldn't hear this from our room. Shower gel was up high in a holder by the shower so had to stand up to reach when having a bath!

Great location, few minutes walk from New street station. Rooms spotless and comfortable. Extra in room include, iron, hairdryer, fan, toiletries and selection of teas/coffee/ hot chocolate. Room service available at no additional cost ( resturant prices). Free hot drinks in bar. Definitely will stay again. Amazing value.

This is a classic spoons in the centre of Birmingham. Packed out on every table on Monday evening is everything you would expect. Didn't use the rooms but the online images show them to be basic and functional. The food was delivered hot and fast and the prices for drinks excellent value as always

Always stay here when I visit Birmingham - easy access from / to the station (Birmingham New Street) through arcade, and price that is affordable. Because of accommodation that stands above the bar and restaurant, it is very easy to get to the foods and drinks entire day. Room is equipped with pot (with water and refill tea bag and sachet) and bath towels etc. There are windows but shouldn't expect city view; can rather see other building view that is adjacent to the hotel.....

Absolutely brilliant. Amazing location. Great typical spoons downstairs, but hotel is fantastic too. Great rooms. Brilliant shower. Comfy beds. Cheap breakfast in the morning as it's a spoons! Fantastic value. Only place I will now stay in Birmingham

Based on price/product (all round), the Briar Rose is absolutely exceptional in every way. We were here on Sunday evening, a really lovely, spacious, bright yet cosy double with everything that you need on hand, all for £39 for God's sake. The welcome at reception was just fantastic (from Vanessa I recall her name being?), who was lovely and couldn't do enough. The room (502) has a large bath (the bathroom is great, really decent size) and massive deep sink. There's an iron and ironing board, hairdryer l, a big fan (it was a warm day) and teas, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water (with biscuits) all in the price. Beautifully comfy double bed too and a decent sized wall mounted tv. This place is absolutely spotless too. The staff are all super nice and the service is kind and efficient. Honestly, I'm amazed at how brilliant it all is fornthe almost free price. I cant praise it highly enough - we love it so much we've booked another night (41 quid). Ooh, the bar area too - again, flawless. Great service, nice staff, the bar is perfect, it just screams "well managed". The Freedom breakfast is the best £3.99 you're ever going to spend. If you're looking at staying in Birmingham, dont bother looking anywhere else (unless you're looking for spa's and 5 star etc). Pound for Pound, this is the best hotel in Birmingham. Have I been in "better" hotels? Course I have, I've lived in several countries, I've stayed in plenty of 5-star hotels, but for the price, its phenomenal.
