Novotel Birmingham Centre

We liked the hotel and the staff very much. We were not so keen on the style of the room /design. The toilet was in the wrong place. And the bathroom right in front of the bed. There were workmen working there on the morning we woke up however we were not advised they would be there. The lounge area was very nice and the bar was also very pleasant. The breakfast was outstanding. They just need to focus on the rooms and the designs.

We received a warm welcome by the member of staff on duty. Her attentiveness throughout our experience really made it special. She gave us a detailed run through of teas and coffees available and brought a fan over as it was a hot day. Her service was faultless. The presentation and taste of the food was wonderful. The atmosphere was relaxing and we didn't feel rushed to finish. Thank you for making this mother/daughter occasion special.

Great, friendly welcome from all the staff the minute the group arrived. The rooms and Event Suite were ready for us and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were clean, breakfast included everything you could wish for and was constantly topped up. The toasters were slow to brown, but isn't that the same in every hotel? A friendly bar area and the hotel is located with easy access to Symphony Hall and the city centre.

This was the second times I stayed in this hotel and found the staff very welcoming and friendly, which made check-in smooth and pleasant. The location is excellent—convenient for exploring the area and close to local attractions. The only downside was the noise at night, likely from nearby bars, which might be a consideration for light sleepers. Overall, a good spot for a short stay if you’re looking for comfort and accessibility.

Attended afternoon tea today. The service, food and surroundings were excellent. Had a lovely time. Many thanks to Kevin for looking after us. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be going back.

On the recommendation of a friend I stayed here for one night in July. Okay it was a Saturday and ELO and Ozzie Osmond were doing farewell concerts in the city but charging more than triple the week rates for a room seems a bit high. ||The hotel was as one would expect a Novotel, the staff were polite and the rooms clean and comfortable. Plus the breakfast was good. ||But the garage below the hotel was very small and the parking bays so tight that I managed to scrape the door of my car against a pillar, which was an expensive mistake.
