You still get choccy on the way round, and the experience extras (4d cinema) are excellent.
The staff were very helpful, friendly and took the time to make his visit enjoyable. Extra praise for the staff working in the “Have a go” area today, who were extremely helpful and went the extra mile for us.
When we visited there were a lot of attractions closed down due to building work
There isn’t anywhere to actually see the chocolate being made in terms of the actual factory itself and it would be good if this aspect was addressed.

The house is fabulous.
The restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price. Only downside, group of six, we had to split up into three groups.
Parking, we arrived before opening, so car park was still closed, had to wait nearby in a laybye.
On a small side note, car park is free but a little tight when busy. You may struggle to park if, like me, you have a larger vehicle! Just something to keep in mind.

By far the most interactive museum I have ever encountered, and very captivating for children. I feel like this is more than a science museum-we didn’t expect to find such a wonderful collection of taxidermy, and a selection of arcade games from the 80’s.
The ‘science garden’ was the winner with our little scientist and he happily would’ve stayed outside for hours playing with all of the different experiments and trying all of the different mechanisms. He also favoured the robot on Level 3 which he enjoyed programming.
There is so much to see and do here and we spent 4 hours, only leaving because I had a migraine. We certainly could’ve stayed longer.
Park in the Millennium Point multistorey nearby (blue badge parking is free of charge).
Accessible toilets were spacious and clean.
Coffee shop could’ve been better, with no oat milk or coffee syrup, but you can’t have it all.
Their history and manufacturing is outstanding worth experiencing

We recently visited the ThinkTank Museum in Birmingham with our two kids (ages 10 and 16) and had an absolutely fantastic time. The museum is clean, modern, and incredibly well-maintained. It offers a wide range of fascinating exhibits that kept both of our children engaged and entertained.
One of the highlights was the variety of hands-on experiments and interactive displays that really brought the exhibits to life. The museum does a great job of making learning fun and accessible for all ages, from younger children to teenagers. Both of our kids left feeling inspired and eager to learn more.
Overall, we highly recommend the ThinkTank Museum for families, educators, or anyone with a curiosity about science and technology. It’s definitely worth a visit!

This is an interesting museum where you can see how people lived and worked in these cramped conditions. You get a 90 minute guided tour and experience the houses over different periods of history. There are a lot of original narrow twisty stairs, dark dingy candle-lit rooms and low doorways, and if the group is full, it can feel a bit crowded, but that is part of the experience as that is how people lived here.
There is a separate exhibition space and shop. There was an interesting and thought-provoking exhibition about the recently forced clearance of a housing estate in Birmingham called Druids Heath, and its impact on the residents and community.
I highly recommend the visit.

The entry price was a fraction of the cost you’d pay for a National Trust property and the curators/volunteers were very very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their subjects.
So easy to get to and from with an Uber, or you can easily get there on public transport. Just keep an eye on events at the next door Villa park as that will impact access and parking. If you are ordering a return Uber I suggest you walk Upper Thomas Street (three minutes from the front door) by the bus turning circle as the drivers seem to prefer collecting you here than on the main entrance.
Wonderful that the old stables were finally converted into a new toilet room with the cafe and shop next door

Would be interesting for fans of J.R.R Tolkien (he lived in the house opposite Sarehole Mill)
The first two items (the mill and the Tolkien trivia) were an amazing experience! We definitely recommend this tour to anybody who wants to visit a good old run down watermill simply to see the works, or if you’re a Tolkien nerd as well!
Our tour guide was Ash, and he was marvellous! The tour lasted about an hour, during which he took us through the floors of the mill, explaining in immersive detail what milling was all about back in the day, occasionally treating us to a bit of insight into Tolkien’s life back when he lived around the mill.
The third aspect that we were looking forward to (the pizza) was unfortunately a big disappointment. Not only was it mediocre at best, we also had to wait over an hour just for our order to be taken! (No, it wasn’t that crowded. They were “backed up” with another order apparently.)
So after over an hour of waiting to place an order (during which time we had filled up on tea and cake because we were just sitting there hungry and waiting), and then a wait of about 20 minutes for our pizza to arrive, we were quite disappointed with what we were served.
In summary: definitely do the tour and take your time exploring the park and the trail, and the mill area.
