They have designated talk and feed times for penguins and otters, so you could enjoy that.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Specially enjoyed the penguins.
Would have given a 5 or even more if otters were close instead of on screen. However I understand and appreciate that they need to adapt first to this environment before exposing them to public.
Overall, it was a very fun experience and Happy Weekend instead!!

Had a lovely visit here on Saturday, wasn’t too busy and no wait to go inside. We booked it in the morning through our Merlin passes and there was plenty of admission availability. So many things to see if you take your time, but it’s easier said than done. Lot’s of talks going on throughout the day, we really wanted to watch one of them but there was too much pushing and shoving from other adults and didn’t want my child getting trampled on. Some better crowd control would be ideal at the talks/feeding times. Nice gift shop at the end with plenty of stock and very lovely staff.

There is a helpful little tip for visiting – in the corner of the gift shop there is a lift back up to the toilets. These are back at the beginning of exhibition so you can head round again to pick up any bits you missed!
It is a great half day out with the kids. The centre feels like it could do with some updating and refresh on some of the side activities but the exhibits are all great, and the feeding / talk times flow quite well through your visit. The staff are all super friendly and helpful, our daughters especially loved the roaming pirate!

Visited the National Sea Life Aquarium with my kids and we had a beautiful, exciting time. It was such a delight discovering different aquatic creatures—there’s so much to see and learn! The only downside for me was how crowded it was. Maybe it’s just the holiday season… maybe not. Either way, it was a bit too packed for my liking. Also, I was a little disappointed to learn that the big sharks are no longer there—they were apparently removed a while ago. That said, the kids didn’t seem to mind and had an absolute blast. Overall, a delightful experience and we’ll definitely be back—hopefully during a quieter period.

I’ve gone 3 time, I had gone for events before, today was the first time going as it it. Was still really enjoyable. Staff has been nice and are happy to talk about the animals. This time greybeard made our day lot of jokes as well as a lot of information on the sea otter.

Brilliant little day out. Love it! Kids love it! I think its reasonably priced considering proceeds go towards helping the animals so thats always worth it! The creatures are all gorgeous, the bits where kids can crawl through the tanks its a fun little treat and keeps them engaged. Staff are all lovely. Was all in all a positive experience that we will all remember for years to come.

£9 entry for adults + £3 per car might seem steep but is 100% worth it for these beautiful gardens. With about 15 acres to explore you could easily spend 3-4hrs here!

Perfect for a nice relaxed afternoon if you go during the week, I imagine it’s quite a bit busier on the weekends and school holidays.

Be aware that the hot-houses are very hot and humid! Probably 30-35? so if you go in the colder months make sure you can remove some layers easily.

The grounds are broadly wheelchair accessible, with sloping ramps. Although if possible take someone who is able to open doors as one door in the cacti room to an accessible ramp does get stuck and some slopes (while gentle for those walking) could be a little steep for a manual chair.

Plenty of benches around, some in the sun and some in the shade as well as a large gazebo-like structure near the rose garden you could duck into if it rains.

Perfect for kiddos, if you park yourself in the cafe with a view to the hothouse door you can safely send them off on their own to run around for hours. There is a plat area as well if that’s more their thing than running through bushes.

Love the little shop, lots of gardening bits as well as cards, pottery and artwork all priced fairly high as you would expect for any garden centre/ public attraction.

The cafe seems well enough, again watch out for your wallet as the cakes on display look delicious!

Hidden treasure!! My first time!! Has to be seen to believe!!The staff wore smiles, friendly & ready to help. The diversity of the plants, the japanese gardens, the water features, tidiness of the place, wonderful trees & pretty roses, incredible hidden corners of solitude & the wonderful cafe staff ‘amazing bakery’. Incredible value for money 10/10.

Came here with my partner. Pretty easy to book, can do so online. £3 per car parking – would advise not to go at a busy time as the car park will be full.
Lovely day out full of various plants and trees. Most of the outdoor plants are British origin with others being housed indoors.
Managed to get around in an hour and a half, seeing all of the plants we wanted to see.
As per usual, snacks and drinks are a bit costly £1.50 for a can.

Wonderful place we spent whole afternoon inside. Lots of plants to discover and different types of trees and flowers we never know. Quiet and peaceful place. Really nice along with lovely gifts to get in the shop.

Really great day out for all the family. Can get good discounts if you know where to look which makes it much more affordable.

Loads to do. The outside water play part it especially brilliant for your kids.

Planetarium comes at an extra cost but was good.

The think tank is a great spot for all ages. Whether you’re older or younger there is something for everybody. The play area was a favourite on our visit, the kids would love to go back just for that. It’s interactive and has so many different things there. It shows so much local history too which we loved. Pricing was fair and the staff were great too.

3 hours well spent! The exhibitions are interactive and informative. I was surprised to see paper printed information peeling off the wall given the price of the ticket. The Planetarium is OK if you are new to this.

We visited Thinktank with our 6 and 9-year-olds, and they absolutely loved it, especially the outdoor area. It’s really well set up for kids, and you could easily spend 2-3 hours exploring everything. Just a tip: that outdoor section can get hot in summer. Inside, the museum is spread across three stories, so there’s plenty to see.

A bonus for us was discovering that if you travel by bus or train, you can get 50% off admission! That made it even better value. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a fun and educational day out with the family.

Fantastic and interesting place. Every floor offers a different insight on science, evolution, technology and mechanics throughout human history. I would definitely recommend a visit especially with the kids. The Gift shop is quite expensive though! And finding parking is a nightmare.

It was ok for my teenager but even for me it was not that great. It’s a small museum separated in 3-4 floors. Interesting for little ones. We are use to museum and for us it was boring and very expensive for what it was.

Had a fantastic visit to RSPB Sandwell Valley recently! It’s a beautiful, peaceful spot that’s perfect for birdwatching and relaxing in nature. The staff and volunteers were really welcoming and helpful.

During my visit, I spotted some amazing birds, including oystercatcher, lots of geese, and many other species. The hide is brilliant — well maintained and perfectly placed to give you a great view without disturbing the wildlife. It’s such a calm and relaxing place to sit quietly and enjoy nature.

The only downside was a few bike riders passing nearby with very loud engine sounds, which disturbed the peace a little and seemed to unsettle some of the birds. It didn’t ruin the visit, but it would be even better if the area could be kept quieter for both visitors and wildlife.

Overall, it’s a wonderful place and I highly recommend a visit if you love nature, birds, and some quiet time outdoors!

We have a fantastic day in the children’s Thursday activity, £6 per person. Totally worth it!!! We did pond dipping, we find fantastic creatures there!!! We burnt Marshmallow in the fire, we lit a fire… complicated for adults as well, and there were plenty of craft to get imagination flying. Have a wonderful experience myself!! Child was happy as well!

Plenty to see here . The hide was a bit noisy though as someone was checking what their group had seen from a long checklist. They could have done that back at the visitor center. Anyway there were lots of warblers around, saw a couple of Little Ringed Plovers and the Parakeets were very active. Nice calm oasis.

Had a great time on the beginners bird watching walk! The volunteers were very helpful

Great place for wildlife, nature and bird spotting. Easy access with a nice cafe and toilets on site.

I recommend a visit, even if not an avid bird watcher. The walk from Forge Mill carpark around the lake to the centre is so relaxing by the river.

An absolute great day, my children and I had during the holidays. We went on a fairy trail hunt around the park and it was lovely out with nature just exploring. A good few hours is what you need to come here as it is a huge park and has beautiful scenery.. there are two car parks, one as you drive in (no charge) and one over the bridge (charges). The staff are friendly, there is a cafe with seating area, toilets which is all very clean. I payed on arrival but you can buy tickets online.

Great place to walk did the woodpecker trail there was a few markers missing so will need a map, Cafe very friendly and sausage sandwich cooked to order and was great. You do need to use cash though in the Cafe no card payments. Overall walk great with great views overlooking the area.

Wow! What a fantastic place to meet family or friends and explore together. Just beautiful with the Autumn colours in the sunshine. Super friendly staff at the Visitor Centre with free parking, cafe, toilets and free maps. A lovely walk up to the Hill fort with STUNNING views. Would highly recommend!

There is no cafe there at the moment, but it is open to sit & rest or to dodge a shower. There are books and a toilet. I heard that they’re looking for a business start up to run the cafe, so it may open one day

Lovely place to visit, there are 3 walks of different levels we did the blue which took about an hour, cafe was clean and felt hygiene safe, toilets clean and tidy.
Did red route today very challenging at times and we have done the castle walk wonderful views

It was really good to have a visitor centre here, it had some useful information and items to look at, there were toilets and it had a cafe with seating inside and outside. There was plenty of free parking right by the visitor centre and a children’s playground.

More money needs to be invested into the building to upgrade equipment and displays. My children enjoyed the displays, but they need updating and cleaning up better labelling etc better toilets needed, and cafe prices are extremely high, bringing your own own drinks and snacks

Great outdoors.Lovely place to rest and get some peace, quiet and contact with nature. Close to Birmingham, good, free parking and close to the bus route as well. Stunning view of Birmingham city centre from the top. Good for a couple hours walk or to spend the whole day out. I often go there where life gets to quick and busy to recharge my batteries and look at things from different perspective. Great to have a place like that so close to a busy city. Would recommend to anyone who needs to relax and rest.

Such a fun family day! Lots to do, play with and explore. There is a 4d cinema (highly recommend!), soft play and various zones to build and explore. We spent half a day here and could have been here longer. There is also a Costa coffee with reasonable meal deals. Our daughter wants a birthday party here next!

We have Merlin passes, and are really keen to visit all of the attractions available to us.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from the discovery centre, but I was pleasantly surprised.
There were a couple of rides to go on, my son loved the shooting ride, and we tried this a few times to get better scores each time.
Plus there were a couple of soft play areas for different age groups, which kept me daughter busy for ages!
There are lots of Lego stations around, with different themes, so both kids could build and have fun. My son loved building a car for the ramp.
I’m not sure how much this place costs, but if you have a merlin pass and are in the midlands, I would definitely recommend it.
It can keep the kids busy for a couple of hours easy, and then you can go to the sea life centre after to complete your day

Visited for my youngest birthday treat a few weekends ago and had an amazing time. Initially it looked quite small but there’s so much to do we spent the entire day here.

It has a 4 d cinema, pedal ride, and shoot from a cart ride all of which are great fun and had short queues.

Then there are numerous build areas that the children couldn’t get enough of. Lego friends, race track, car test ramp, earthquake test area, and others. There are some added extras you can buy too such as a build session and vr ride, plus a activity booklet. None of which were expensive.

The staff were super helpful and friendly. The Costa was reasonable and fresh for lunch. Had an amazing time and will be back.

Went before and didn’t rate it. This time went on opening and seemed to be lots better. There was plenty of Lego to use and build things. Both boys got a Lego bee reward for making and showing their inventions (which wasn’t on after we got ours that I saw). We did the master builder and Oscar was absolutely wonderful with the kids.
It was very busy after lunch, too many people could barely move

A great place for kids and LEGO fans! LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Birmingham offers a variety of attractions, from creative building zones and a mini 4D cinema to rides and a playground. The children were thrilled with the opportunity to create their own creations and the interactive attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the relatively short visit time for the ticket price – it might be a bit too challenging for older children. Despite this, the visit was a great success and full of colorful fun. It’s worth a visit!

Beautiful square in Birmingham to visit. Nice location near to Town Centre. 5min walk from Grand Central railway station. The place should be heaven in summer but still buzzing and vibrant with people. There lots of good food corners nearby like Nandos, Greegs, Wagamama. Worth to visit

I was there in Christmas time. It was an amazing experience. The shops had a lot of things to offer. After BATH, this Christmas market would be my most favourite place to visit.

A nice sculpture of one of Britain’s most well known monarchs. This sculpture stands at the heart of the square that is named after Queen Victoria and it is well worth visiting when in the area.

What a great tour given by Chris yesterday. Informative and fun. It was great to be given the background to this amazing building. The stories were fascinating . I would heartily recommend having lunch at the great Italian restaurant the Taverna where the food was delicious combined with great , friendly service.

Walked along the canal by Brindley place to visit the Roundhouse, small visitor centre. Very interesting reading about the place and the people who worked there. Lots of history how the place came to be, and it’s history about the horses who were stabled here. The visit included short films throughout the years of activity on the canal. Progress of the Restoration over the years as it now is a social gathering for eating and meeting friends.

England has a long history, with thousands of historical buildings and castles. I was very glad to learn about and explore the history of the Roundhouse, which was built in 1847 in Birmingham. It is a creative and functional design, suited for its purpose of bringing cargoes by large horses from the canal. The tour lasts about an hour, but it is informative, providing insight into the types of workers who worked there and their challenging lives.
Worth to visit.

Fantastic kayak experience around the Birmingham canals. I learnt so much about the history of the city I grew up in. It was brilliant to see it from this view and wish I had done this sooner. Our instructor was very knowledgeable. The package we had also came with pizza and drinks and I could have wished for a better way to spend my birthday.

Even though it wasn’t fully open it was brilliant to see how it has been restored. I love the idea of the buildings being stables for horses that were used on the canals. Horses would be “exchanged” at the roundhouse so a “new” horse would be fresh to carry on the journey pulling the barges along the canal.

We really loved our kayak experience with Keith. He told us loads of interesting facts about the history of Birmingham’s canals and kept it fun the whole way! The pizza after in the Distillery was also very tasty, and it’s a beautiful location. Highly recommend!

A lively square with lots of activity. For the Back to the Beginning gig there was a fantastic photography exhibition hosted here and when events are on in the city this is a great place to meet others.

Best place to sit and relax. Town Hall and Council House with other major buildings creating very nice atmosphere all around especially the fountains. It’s called river or Floozie in the Jacuzzi but so beautiful to watch blue water running in yellowish striking building.
