Customer Reviews

The query at the fitting room is quite long and very discouraging, they need a larger space because of the crowd that comes into the store, it tends to make the place crowded. They have amazing clothes and very affordable and the quality is very good

Love Zara for mens clothing. You just need to have a really good look around. They have some unique pieces, that soon disappear so keep checking in. Quality is always good and not overly priced.

The new Zara inside the bullring looks nice aesthetically, with a minimalist approach to the design. However for the large space, the clothing range is very limited in comparison to the vast range it once offered when it was outside of the bullring. It was a let down visiting today since it moved inside hoping to have the same shopping experience and a wider range of clothing now that it even had a bigger space to work with. I believe also their pricing has increased slightly, Overall I found it underwhelming and quite difficult to find items I was looking for.

Greaseball security guard makes you feel uncomfortable as soon as you walk in. He wouldn't stop STARING at us even after we'd made our way in & were shopping in store. His slicked back combover hair nearly tripped us up on the way in.Glad I took an antihistamine before we came as the dust in here will kill you if you have allergies, so untidy, very unkempt store. It's smaller than their previous store as everything is cramped onto one floor for women, with kids in this store rather than the mens store. I wonder why that is..The worker busy bees are too busy to look for sizes for you/check stock & purposefully make you feel uncomfortable, looking you up & down instead of saying hello as you enter their section. They're more concerned about their uniforms looking uniform so you can't tell which one you just spoke to about something. You turn around & they disappear like magic! Might be some dodgy trick like the many they have up their sleeve (don't ask if they have different colours in the sleeve, they might give you rabies biting your head off for asking). We were browsing, like the other approx 20 people in the store when the slimy security guard slithered up to us waving his radio (did you know, it makes one grow 3 inches when one does that), telling us the shop was closing in 5 minutes. We blinked & he reappeared, telling us tills were about to close in 3 minutes, not noticing we were all holding an armful of items each. Due to his magic act of telling only us out of the choice customers in there, we decided to leave the items we were holding, with every intention of purchasing. I think he nearly fell over himself running to tell mummy & daddy manager on us, pointing his radio at us as we exited the store. I believe the radio is now a part of him, an extension of his limb & makes him feel adequate in more than one area of his life.Zara, lose this guy & train your people in good old fashioned customer service. Legend has it you might sell more if people are made to feel welcome. Some say they might even return.

Similar to a lot of the reviews about this store, my sisters and I were basically profiled by the security guards the minute we walked in 3 days after Christmas with no good reason. The security guard with slicked oiled back hair and beady eyes literally stared at us the entire time we were in the store even though with our armfuls of clothes it was clear we were there for the long haul to buy a fair amount as we have done for decades at Zara. It felt like he profiled us for being "the wrong Asians" which is heavily discriminatory. I'm not sure if it's because of the new refurb but to be honest we've always experienced rude staff at this particular store even in the old location. They're not bothered to help customers, always rushing to do something else (what?) instead of putting the customer first - surely the first golden rule of exceptional retail service. Strangely the security guards at the old store (pre-refurb) were always discreet and polite whereas the one we experienced yesterday was a jumped up one, chest puffed out like he was guarding expensive watches at a jewellery store rather than a bog standard high street store. When he warned us 5 minutes before store was closing, then came back for a three minute warning that the tills would close with his radio rudely pointing at us, my sister got fed up with the constant surveillance as she was clearly trying to make a decision on items to purchase and said to him you've mentioned that to us already. He unprofessionally visibly rolled his eyes and went to loudly speak to the store manager about us. We all got fed up with this behaviour we'd experienced for approx 1.5 hours and just put all the clothes we were intending to buy back on the rails without purchasing. I've worked in retail before and know the difference between no and exceptional customer service is effort, being approachable, friendly and taking time to help customers, all of which it seems is asking too much of the staff at this Zara store. Looking at the other reviews here I'm sure we're not the only ones that are put off buying from this particular store because of the rude staff so please - Birmingham Zara store, you need to urgently brush up on customer service skills immensely, as it seems to be the biggest reason why a lot of business and sales are being lost. A key note to mention: after we left the store on this visit we ended up spending more than we intended to spend at Zara in the nearby Selfridges, probably due to the exceptional customer service we experienced. Zara, take note from other stores!
