Hysteroscopy I just wanted to put a positive review for the ladies out there who have upcoming appts. The information you have beforehand is totally correct take painkillers beforehand you will receive cramping pain whilst this is taking place but this is bearable I was extremely nervous beforehand but the Nurse was lovely and reassuring Dr Cheema is very knowledgeable and explains things well overall although not what anyone wants to go through this made a difficult situation more comfortable shout out to the team at Womans Unit including the lovely woman who showed me where to go as I went to Maternity unit by accident what would we do without our NHS many thanks

In the 11 week of my 1st and only pregnancy I had a heavy bleeding and period like cramps, went to the GAU in Heartlands as it was the closest hospital to me, however prior leaving home I changed my pad. At the hospital they wanted to assess my pad to decide whether it is an emergency or not. I explained that I changed my pad 10 mins ago, so it is not soaked at the moment, however they said it is the only way to determine the emergency. Therefore, they concluded it is not necessary to scan me or anything and discharged me. I started looking for a private scan, it was impossible on the day, it was Sunday too, so we ended up going to Telford. As we were traveling for about an hour and a half, I felt like something dropped in the cervical canal. In the private scan clinic, the lady did abdominal scan, couldn’t see the baby, asked if I am okay for a transvaginal scan, I agreed and she asked me to go to the toilet first. Unfortunately, as soon as I aimed to pee, large, heavy, blood clots started to falling out. I knew I lost my baby. The sonographer confirmed this. On the next day I went to Birmingham Women’s, who were exceptional in their ability to comfort me and my partner and explain what is to happen now. The whole situation is very said, because I had spotting from the very first week I found I am pregnant, and I have spoken with my midwife about that, and she assured me it is normal in some women. I am very disappointed with Heartlands, because they didn’t listen, they decided to draw a conclusion based on a new pad, and neglected the fact that I had spotted before, and that I was in pain and there was heavy bleeding at the time I presented to the GAU. Maybe I would have lost the baby even if they took me in. But I would have also avoided all of the worries, fears, and concerns that i experienced throughout the whole damned day.
