Hays Recruitment Agency - Birmingham
📍 Human resources agencies in Birmingham
My experience with Hays Recruitment in Birmingham has been mixed. While they offer a range of roles across various sectors, the communication wasn’t always consistent. Finding a dedicated and responsive contact proved challenging at times, impacting the overall sense of support during the job search process. Candidate experience can be improved.
The agency does possess access to quality job opportunities, which is a definite plus for those seeking employment. However, a greater emphasis on clear communicationand proactive follow-up would significantly enhance the service provided. They seem to offer a broad scope of potential careers.

I had such a positive experience with Hays Recruitment. Poppy helped me secure a job in my field, and it has been a pleasure connecting with her. She communicated so well throughout the entire process and made everything feel seamless. Poppy is incredibly lovely, supportive, and helpful. Thank you so much for everything!
Absolutely rubbish agency offered me a job with false advertising regarding training it was a 11 intense exam based training with rubbish management , weekly pay issues and impossible to speak to someone if your contact was on leave! to then sending me job descriptions and no replies when emailed.I would never recommend this agency to anyone.
Disgusting after waiting 3 months and was given start date. They call to tell me they are unable to go ahead with offer. Couldy not speak to somebody for three weeks. i was told to start then to be told it was incorrect info. I could go on !!
I recently applied for multiples jobs on their website Birmingham, as my contract with my previous job was coming to an end, I revived an email for an interview about a job as my Cv is very good, I replied back asking if the interview was f2f or call they did not answer they gave me a date, so me being clueless I went to the office and the lady who booked the interview didn’t even know I was coming in. I told her I had replied to the email and she said she forgot to answer, after the interview I was told they had jobs available and they had to wait for another colleague to get back to the office and I would’ve received a call, after a week I still hadn’t receive a call and they kept posting new jobs and I kept applying. I don’t think they are serious in what they do, just wasting people time for nothing.
Back in October 2023 I was interested in applying for a role, but I first wanted to clarify a few things with them. They were literally IMPOSSIBLE to get hold of, so I eventually decided to apply the same – as I faced some IT issues that prevented me from submitting my application, I was forced to try and get hold of them again. I tried to get in touch with Hannah Hackett (the consultant looking after the vacancy) numerous times and in various ways, but not once she acknowledged receipt of my emails and texts, or returned my calls and voice messages. I then managed to contact her colleague Myles Hunt both over the phone and via email – he promised he’d pass the message and CV on to Hannah, but I never heard from her or him again. I even went to their office in person – they didn’t let me upstairs, but I managed to speak on the phone with Sarah Hawker, whom advised to send her the CV as she promised she’d have passed it to Hannah. As soon as I did so within the same hour, I received an automated email notifying me that she was on annual leave now (which of course she didn’t think of telling me about). Useless to say, no response from Sarah or Hannah after my email. I honestly don’t know how they can keep this business going when they so shamelessly and ungratefully repel and disrespect applicants. The audacity of asking for professional and qualified applicants, when they operate in exactly the opposite way themselves . Cherry on top – when I tried to log a formal complaint centrally, I was redirected to call the Birmingham Office, so basically they have no super partes actor that could look into whatsoever complaint and redress things
Hi. I have been registered with Hays since 10 months and not a single job has been allocated. They don't return your calls or emails. If i do get connected they say o we will check and get back to we r sorry bla bla... and never hear from them ever. I had to keep chasing them and finally decided to stop. One of the worst agency this is my personal opinion and experience. Do not waste your time registering.
Applied for many jobs. Qualified nrswa civils supervisor been in the game since 2007 tickets in date. I've had not 1 response no phone call absolutely nothing. Was going to go to office and ask what's going on but what's the point. Its their loss..found a good job at 50k a year. Don't know how this place works but it's backwards or doesn't like I'm Asian. Really makes no sence as I'm fully qualified and experienced.
