Our 18 year old cat needed transport to South East Spain as we were emigrating. We researched plane, road, train and ferry. The least stressful travel option was road and eurotunnel. Too many people and more than one company would have been involved with the other travel options. The moment I spoke with Amanda, a year before Cindy's journey, I knew 101 Pet Express was perfect. The business prides itself on ensuring all pets are looked after as if one of their own. Needs and preferences are tailored to each furry passenger. We were so worried about Cindy as she has never travelled further than half an hour and this would be a 2 night and 3 day journey. Josh was driving her and a live What's app tracker was set up between us, Amanda and Josh a couple of days before travel. Amanda had a list of Cindy's likes/dislikes and items to be taken in the van when collecting her from the cattery. We needed some essential cat items to arrive with her and she had a small suitcase and a few bags which Josh was happy to bring. Cindy was on a one to one service with Josh and had his undivided attention which suited us perfectly. The cattery owner messaged me after Josh had left with Cindy to say how impressed she was with the company. She said the compartment was cosy and had room for her bed, carrier, litter tray and water. Josh sent us regular updates, videos and photos along the way which put our minds at rest knowing she was being cared for so well. Cindy really took to him and looked more and more relaxed in each photo and video he shared with us. When they finally arrived to our new home we were so emotional. Josh took the time to stay with us a while to tell us about their journey in more detail and share other experiences he's had helping reunite pets and owners. We could not be more grateful to 101 Pet Express! I have recommended to members of FB forums to contact 101 Pet Express when the question was asked on how to bring their beloved pet to Spain for the UK and now that I have had the full experience from the first call to Amanda from the UK to then meeting Josh in Spain I will be their biggest advocate. Professional, caring and compassionate they really saved us when we found ourselves in a situation where we had to get our dog back to the UK from Spain having driven to Spain for hol, but needing to find a different way to get us all home following a car breakdown. From first contact, they were so helpful and friendly, answering lots of questions and really alleviated a lot of our anxieties. When pick up day arrived Josh took time to put our dog at ease and she took to him straight away, which again helped us! The communication throughout the journey was regular and informative and it was so nice to be able to see the journey's progress, it looked like our dog was having a lovely time being treated like royalty throughout! We had an excellent experience with 101 Pet Express this past week, entrusting them with the transport of our dog, Luna, from Alicante, Spain to Yorkshire. From the very beginning, Amanda filled us with confidence - her communication was clear and reassuring, and it was obvious Luna would be in safe hands with Josh and John. Of course, with long-distance, cross-continent travel, things don’t always go perfectly. But what stood out most was how the team handled an unexpected issue with the van: John flew from Madrid to Gatwick, then drove all the way back through France and Spain in the night just to ensure the trip could continue without major delays. That kind of commitment is rare and speaks volumes about their professionalism, reliability, and care. Despite the minor hiccup, we never once doubted that Luna would arrive safe, happy, and on time, and she did. Throughout the journey, we received regular updates and photos, showing Luna relaxed and clearly very comfortable in their company. John, Josh, and Amanda went above and beyond for not just Luna, but for us as well. They are a trustworthy, family-run company that genuinely cares. 101 Pet Express exceeded every one of my expectations. From the initial conversation to the final drop off, they were communicative, patient, kind and incredibly reassuring. This was my first time bringing my dog to England and despite my many questions, Amanda was always there to make sure we were confident with each step of the process. The journey from Alicante to the north of England is a long drive, but Josh and John made sure that my dog was well looked after from the moment I handed her off to them – with regular updates of their walks and making sure she was cool during the summer heat. After facing unexpected delays along the way, the 101 Pet Express team were quick to act, had a solid contingency plan and kept us in the loop along the way.
