Customer Reviews
Orelle has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 based on over 866 reviews on Google
This is a great restaurant to visit if you are looking for something a little bit special. The food is beautifully presented and the service is very good. However we were initially informed that we had to order both our starter and main at the same time, instead of waiting to see how hungry we were after our first course . It's a little bit more expensive than some restaurants, but it takes into account the spectacular views over the city and the sophisticated atmosphere. The only negative was that to access the toilets, you have to go down stairs although there is a lift. ( a minor inconvenience). Overall, a fabulous place to visit once in a blue moon.
This used to be one of my favourite restaurants - my wife and I have been here a few times before and always enjoyed the food. They used to do a fixed price lunch menu with pairing wine for a reasonable price but then they stopped doing the pairing wine, because it wasn’t profitable enough (fair enough) and now they no longer offer a fixed price menu. Today we went there (3 of us) for Sunday lunch and it’s gone downhill. Not only do they no longer offer the fixed price menu, but the quality is not the same - it’s gone from Michelin star standard to average (not bad but no longer a wow) and it feels like they are cutting costs, but still charging the same prices. My starter was prawns and they were undercooked (just about edible), although to be fair my wife had the chicken croquette and it was very tasty and presented well. The Sunday roast was very disappointing. My wife’s food was cold, the skin on the roast potatoes was hard, the "sirloin steak" was a few slices of beef (but cooked fine), the Yorkshire pudding wasn’t great, and the gravy was tasteless. The vegetables were nice but luke warm. I had cream brûlée for dessert which I’ve had before - it was very tasty but not presented as it was previously- before it was decorated with fruit, flowers etc - now it just has a biscuit and hard ice cream on top - see photo below of what it used to look like (first photo) and what it’s like now (second photo). We only had a carafe of wine but the bill for 3 people was £234!! Also they added on £1 for "charity" which is a bit cheeky! Whilst some of the food was very nice, it wasn’t worth the money and we won’t be going back.
The food was really good, the drinks was strong. But the servers were quite rude and impatient, especially as a big group of 10. The view was amazing and the lighting in the bathroom was perfect.
Orelle was an interesting experience. The food was nice and presented in an artistic way but I did feel like it was abit pricey for what it was. I felt like I paid more for the experience of being here. The waiters were nice and very knowledgeable about the food menu and drinks options. The menu has both vegetarian and meat options. The place itself was quite pretty and the service was good. It felt like a more of a romantic setting with lots of couples. However, there were some other ladies having their girls time together like myself. My friend previously celebrated her graduation here with family and she really enjoyed her experience. Hence why she wanted to come back with me. So I would recommend Orelle for celebrations.
What a beautiful place with the best views of the city! Really enjoyed sipping a cocktail watching out the windows. Michela was our waitress for the majority of the evening and she was fantastic, it was such a pleasant, quiet evening. Food was presented beautifully and the portion sizes were just right and was faultless.
Breathtaking views, delicious, well seasoned food, beautifully presented and I had a glass of white wine, it was perfect. I would definitely recommend to my friends and family and will be returning again in the future. Loved it
I dined with the graduation set menu, which had a complimentary glass of prosecco. The set 3 course menu selection was small but had a good variety of options for a very reasonable price. The staff were excellent, warm and welcoming. It is a short elevator travel up to the 24th floor, which is a very open space, airy and has large windows which provides a very atmospheric and calming environment with beautiful views of Birmingham. The food was delicious, with elegant presentation and well balanced flavours. The mushroom tart was delicious and the best mushroom starter I've had, the main course I had was the chicken, which was on the drier side but had a lovely thin gravy and creamy mash which balanced the dish very well. The creme brulee was also absolutely delicious, creamy and a perfectly caramelized and crisp sugar top. It was a very worthwhile experience and I definitely will be returning.
