Haven’t been here in years! Long over due! My go to used to be the Bradford branch back in the day and the service/ food was always amazing.

This is my first time at the B’ham branch and the colours and vibes of the venue was colourful just as I remember.

The food was nice and the service was good too. So what did we get?

Starters + chutneys:
This is a must 🙂

Flamin lamb-chops and fries:
I was really looking forward to these! They were nice but I remember that they used to be much nicer! I will try them again next time I go!

Keema cheesy Samosas:
This was okay, but wasn’t really my thing.

Aloo paratha:
Highly recommend, wished they had a chilli/ spicy version though!

Chicken tikka masala curry + tandoori roti:
Delicious! Soft chunks of chicken and flavoursome! Defo try this! I think I will get the butter chicken next time if they can make it spicy of course.

Sauces x 4:
Mango and the mint yogurt was really good!

I recently visited MyLahore Birmingham and overall had a pleasant experience. There was a short wait of around 5 minutes for the toilet, and my food was served after about half an hour, which the waiter kindly explained was due to a small glitch. The environment was very good, with comfortable and amazing seating arrangements, and the toilets were well-maintained and clean. The food was enjoyable, though not quite as exceptional as I had expected.

Great restaurant with plenty to choose from. I went down with my partner as we were invited for dinner by a friend.
The restaurant is spacious and has huge seating area. The service was quick with starters arrived at the table within 10mins, although it was moderately busy.
The food tasted good and beautifully presented. My favourite was the dynamite prawns and achari chicken. The restaurant has on-site free parking.
Good place to celebrate birthday and anniversary events.

We had a great experience! Mudassir took our order and was incredibly polite and helpful throughout. We ordered the mix platter starter, dum biryani, butter chicken, garlic cheese naan, and the delicious mango lassi. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. We even had some leftovers, and Mudassir kindly packed them up for us to take home. Highly recommend!

I went to Mughal e Azam for brunch and it was amazing. The place is really clean with a nice aesthetic and the staff were so polite and friendly. The lady at front of house was warm and welcoming which set a good vibe straight away. Our waiter Bilaal was really great too, really professional and friendly, he took our order with ease and made sure everything was perfect throughout. The food tasted fresh, full of flavour and was presented really well. Overall it was a 10/10 experience and I’d definitely recommend it.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and genuine welcome which was lovely. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful – a perfect blend of traditional Desi charm and modern elegance.
The food was nothing short of incredible. Every dish was bursting with flavor, clearly made with fresh ingredients and authentic spices. From the starters to the mains, everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented.
Their drinks and dessert selection was equally impressive. Whether you’re in the mood for a refreshing mocktail or a classic sweet treat like gajar ka halwa or cookie dough , there’s something for everyone.
What really stood out was the amazing customer service – attentive, friendly, and truly committed to making the dining experience special.
Overall, it was an outstanding experience. We couldn’t fault a single thing and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

We had Iftar at Mughal Restaurant’s buffet.

The restaurant has a calm and tranquil atmosphere, creating a welcoming and familiar vibe. The traditional décor is beautifully done, adding to the overall experience.

However, the buffet selection was a bit disappointing. We were expecting classic Pakistani dishes like haleem, nihari, and saag, but instead, most of the options were just different types of curry with various meats. On the bright side, the dessert section was diverse and enjoyable.

Now, let’s talk about the bill. It was quite expensive—£70 in total. I was charged the full price for my 4.5-year-old daughter, and two small bottles of Sprite cost £6, which felt excessive.

On a positive note, the service was excellent—quick, professional, and attentive. A special shoutout to the receptionist, who was exceptionally kind, polite, and professional.

Overall, while the service and ambiance were great, the buffet selection and pricing left much to be desired .

Food was really lovely and the atmosphere was lovely! I came with my husband and my baby daughter. The place took us right back to Pakistan- it felt like home! The ambience, the rustic feel and the interior transported us back into history. The food, although quite mild, was still tasty. We had nihari, haleem that came with toppings on the side (which I mostly devoured) and we ordered the naashta thaal along with rogani naan. The chips were great. The mango lassi I ordered was thick, creamy and delicious. We had so many leftovers which they gave us SATCO sturdy containers to pack in which was enough to feed the rest of our family at home!

We were served by two outstanding waiters. One called Osama and one called Maryam. Both were friendly, helpful and lovely! Thank you so much for making our experience great today Osama and Maryam. 🙂

Mughal-E-Azam – A 10/10 Dining Experience

Visited Mugal-E-Azam today with my family, and it was an experience to remember! The ambiance was next level – warm, inviting, and beautifully done. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the seating arrangements were very comfortable, making us feel right at home.

A special shoutout to Bilal, who went above and beyond to guide us through the menu. His recommendations were spot on!

We ordered the Mix Grill, which was not only generous in portion (easily enough for four people) but tasted exactly like the authentic flavors of Pakistan – absolutely perfect. The Namkeen Ghost was cooked to perfection with no smell from the meat and had just the right amount of spices. The Chicken Charsi Karahi also stood out with its rich flavor and great quantity.

One of the surprises of the night was the Flaming Chicken Burger – unlike anything we’ve had across the UK. Truly top-notch. And to top it all off, we tried the Loaded Parmesan – massive in size, packed with flavor, and completely satisfying.

This was honestly the first time I’ve rated a restaurant in the UK a full 10/10. We came all the way from Cardiff, and it was absolutely worth the trip.

Highly, highly recommended!

Disappointed by Service and Standards at Mughal-e-Azam

Visited Mughal-e-Azam in Birmingham recently, and while the venue itself is visually impressive, the overall experience left much to be desired.

Accessibility Failures
Access to disabled toilets was blocked due to an event in the hall, which is a serious oversight. Facilities should remain available to all guests regardless of concurrent bookings.

️ Misleading Portion Advice
We were told by staff that each chapli kebab portion included two kebabs, only to be served one. This kind of misinformation erodes trust and reflects poorly on service standards.

Undercooked Tandoori Roti
The kitchen struggled with basics—our tandoori roti was sent out undercooked not once, but twice. For a restaurant specializing in Mughlai cuisine, this was both surprising and disappointing.

Poor Steak Execution
The Angus steak arrived 15 minutes after the rest of the food and was overcooked. It disrupted the meal and left one guest waiting awkwardly while others had already started.

No Free Drinking Water
We were surprised to find that no complimentary drinking water was offered. Instead, we were charged £3 for a glass bottle—despite far more affordable alternatives being readily available. This felt unnecessarily inflated and out of step with reasonable hospitality.

While the ambiance and decor suggest a premium experience, the service and kitchen execution need serious attention. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements to match the venue’s potential.

We had a lovely evening at Qavali. The round tables and seating is great as it provides each table with some privacy and adds to the dining experience.

The food was great, everything came exceptionally presented and well cooked with very little to critique. There were a nice range of cocktails with unique flavour combinations. The service was discreet and ok overall.

I would recommend the grand platter – the meats were all tender and and each item had a delicious and unique flavour. It’s big enough to service 3-4 people with sides.

This restaurant was absolutely phenomenal. Top tier, next level place! The best Indian i’ve had!! Incredible flavour, friendly staff, they even have a bible for the amazing cocktails they have, with detailed description. The ones we had were pretty sweet, but was a great contrast to the spice within the dishes. I’m not from from here, and would likely return to Birmingham just for this restaurant alone. The other comments seem to be missing the point of this place, as its a fusion of dishes, not just an Indian restaurant. We did attened on a fairly quiet tea time, as they had just opened. Seriously hard to criticise anything about our particular visit.

I visited Qavali for the afternoon tea experience and it was absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing, the staff were so polite, friendly and welcoming, always serving with a smile.

The food itself was absolutely delicious – every bite was full of flavour and beautifully presented. We also had unlimited tea and coffee, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I even had a complimentary baklava and a non alcoholic mocktail as it was a a birthday celebration.

I truly loved every moment and would highly recommend Qavali to anyone looking for a special afternoon tea with outstanding service. Can’t wait to visit again!

It is rare to find a quirky restaurant which offers quality food but I was amazed with this place, and I am a massive foodie! The lamb koobideh was tender and flavourful, the sharing platter was a great mixture and once again, amazing quality! We had the baklava to finish which once again was amazing quality and the turkish delight icecream paired perfectly with it along with a persian tea and turkish coffee. The turkish coffee pot was as adorable at the restaurant decor. The service was amazing, they were incredibly kind and knowledgeable.

I would definitely return and recommend this spot! Can’t fault anything! Creative and quality and a brilliant menu with options for all.

A beautiful, spacious and family focused restaurant where the food and atmosphere go hand in hand. We came here onroute to Lake District. Large car park managed by steward coming in and out of car park. Car park has over 100 spaces. From the outside you can tell it’s a big venue and we weren’t wrong. The restaurant has 3 floor. The main restaurant on ground floor, a wedding and function hall on second floor and a prayer hall on the top floor. You are welcomed by a lovely desk staff at reception front who was very polite, cheerful and well dressed. The restaurant has a beautiful entrance grand stairs and chandeliers. The decor is very sultan style as with the name with cannons outside and armoured knights and elephants inside. The restaurant has many seating section as you walk in, private pods, family areas, couples tables and sections for larger groups. You pass the kitchen area where you can see the magic and prep taking place by chef and staff preparing the grill and other items. We were seated in a very nice circular table for the 5 of us very spacious. Waiter can gave us menu. The restaurant was packed full with families, groups and couples. You could tell this was a very popular place for a Friday night buzzing. Waiter came back after 15mins to take our order. We ordered a mix of food from curry, karahi, rice to nans. One thing I would say is waiters should know roughly how big dishes are and how many people it can cater for. They had a wide range of items from grill, curry, deserts and drinks. We told the staff we are going to pray and come back. The prayer room and toilets were clean and space for 50 people to pray at once. As soon as we got back drinks came quickly food took around half an hour to arrive which was average and good for a busy Friday night. Food looks beautiful well presented and smelled divine. The dishes were larger than expected and very generous portions. Food tasted fresh, warm, flavoured and tasted delicious. We couldn’t finish the food and had to be takeaway. Water is mineral bottle only. I would highly recommend this place if you are visiting or passing by Birmingham. We paid around £23 per person for meal and drink which was fair for the food, drink and experience. One recommendation I would make is to see some staff dressed like Tipu Sultan or those at front desk would give the place a greater ambiance.

Everything was excellent.. from the service to the atmosphere and the thing that got us here- the food. Mango lassi was exceptionally delicious. A lot of options to choose from in the starters and mains. We ordered hara chicken which was good (a bit dry but good). Chicken karahi was very spicy and paired well with garlic naan. Chicken biryani was one of the best I’ve had in Birmingham. A perfect place for dinner to satisfy the desi food cravings.

5 Stars – Amazing Food & Service!
Tipu Sultan truly impressed! The food was incredible—lamb chops were perfectly tender and falling off the bone. The fish pakora were delicious with a nice spicy kick, and the king prawns were bursting with flavor. The mojito was ice-cold and super refreshing. Service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Tipu Sultan impresses with its Desi Chilli Handi chicken, easily one of the best curries I’ve ever had – rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The mango lassi was also a highlight, sweet, creamy, and refreshing.

On the downside, the service could use improvement. It was a bit frustrating trying to get the staff’s attention, which took away from the overall experience. Great food, but expect a bit of a wait when it comes to service.

Just a heads up, if there is a wedding taking place at the venue – parking will be an issue

The mojitos were perfectly made, refreshing, and served ice-cold, just the way we like them. The service was impressively fast and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, and everything ran smoothly. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and top-notch service!

Alam has truly become our go-to weekend spot especially for its stunning garden area, cozy heated huts, and that magical moment when you walk in under the lights it honestly feels like you’ve stepped into a little hidden gem. The whole aesthetic is so well thought out, and I’m obsessed with the vibe, especially in the evenings.

One thing I always appreciate is that they have a designated space for prayer, which makes dining here feel respectful and accommodating for all. It’s rare to find that kind of thoughtfulness in a restaurant, and it never goes unnoticed.

The food? Always hits. We never leave without ordering the chocolate cake it’s genuinely the best I’ve had. This time we also tried the lamb kebab, and it was packed with flavour and cooked perfectly. You can really tell they care about quality.

A special mention has to go to the owner the one who made the islamic quote above the door. He is hands down one of the kindest and warmest people I’ve ever come across in hospitality. His energy sets the tone for the whole place, and it’s what made us fall in love with Alam in the first place.

However, I do want to be honest. On our recent visit, I brought my sister and had been hyping this place up to her all week. Unfortunately, the two male servers that evening let the experience down. They seemed disorganised, mixed up our order, brought drinks we didn’t request, and their facial expressions felt unfriendly which was disappointing given how consistently lovely the service usually is. The lady server, as always, was wonderful and welcoming, but it’s upsetting when part of the team doesn’t reflect that same energy.

Despite this, I want to emphasise that we love Alam. We visit every Saturday, and we truly hope this was just a one-off. It’s a place we always recommend not just for the delicious food, but for the peaceful vibe and thoughtful atmosphere. I really hope to see that same warmth from the whole team next time, because Alam genuinely is something special.

We was served by a gentleman who’s name is Basharat; excellent customer service from start to finish. I took a wheelchair user with me and Bisharat went above and beyond to cater for his needs by opening the side door and dropped a ramp to let him in.

We ordered 2x Royal Platters, 2x Chicken Curry, 2x Portion of Chips, 3x Naan, 1x Pilau Rice and 2x Bottle of Drink
Portion size of everything was perfect and filled us all up.
Food was good but could do with a bit more spice / flavour in the chicken curries.

I would visit again.

Total came upto £140

It’s a good choice for a quick and easy meal; however, it might be best to check the latest reviews before you visit to ensure the food quality meets your expectations.

The place has good seating for a fast food diner.
The food is nice but definitely not worth the prices, a smash burger and loaded fries coming in at almost 15 pound is ridiculous. It’s tiny as well.
Service is ok, nothing special.
In summary good food, to be tried once if you are feeling rich and want to spoil yourself with a snack.

Mixed emotions here. Was really excited about my visit but didn’t enjoy it the way I thought I would. The burger was a bit too well done for me and I really didn’t dig the herby seasoning at all. It overpowered the taste of the beef. It was a little bit. Fries were plentiful but were not freshly cooked and they were a bit stodgy. Chicken strips are good value for £1.30.
Pizza was freshly cooked and way above Domino/Pizza Hut.
This is a great place though. Clean, family orientated. Server seemed distracted today.
I think a four star review is fair for the whole experience despite my disappointment as my mate really enjoyed his food.

Highly disappointing.

We ordered 2 Pizzas both cost £8.99 and were large but looked medium size. Once I placed the ordered the guy at the till gave me to vibrator alarms saying sit in the car and we will ring the “Buzzer”. After waiting over 25 minutes in the car I decided to pop in to see where on earth the Pizza had gone.

As soon as I asked the cashier he told me another 5 minutes which I found to be very cheeky considering the long wait I had already endured. He was like come back again but this time I told him I will wait inside for it to be made. When it arrived the first pizza looked undercooked and I could literally see it undercooked. I pointed it out to the guy and he was like that’s how the Pizza is. So I waited another 10 minutes for the other pizza to arrive. Must be one of the slowest pizza makers in Birmingham.

When I asked for dips considering my large order you would think he would put a few extra dips but he rashioned them out as though he was handing out gold.

The 2 Pizzas were undercooked, straight after eating I felt unwell. Overpriced large pizza ( do make sure you ask them to show you the box before you order as I didn’t and it the pizza looked more like a medium which is usually a 12inch and they are advertising as “Large”)

Sadly had high expectations of this place especially with the brand I heard was suppose to be good but really not good at all.

Poor Food especially Pizza that’s Also very slim base it seems they are saving on dough.

Poor service with no clear timeframe Given regarding how long order would take.

In terms of price and size it wasn’t value for money as a large which is 12 inch pizza is sold at £8.99. If you go around Birmingham there’s many that do a large which is bigger in size for lesser than the price and more filling.

My experience was not good at all. No apology for the long wait and the cashier seemed to be rude.

Authentic Lebanese & Moroccan Flavours!

This restaurant truly captures the essence of Lebanese and Moroccan cuisine. We ordered two platters—one chicken and one mixed meat—and both were full of rich, authentic flavour. The food was beautifully presented, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly.

Great service, warm atmosphere, and a genuine taste of tradition. Highly recommended!

We recently hosted our wedding at Al Bader, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, everything was handled with such care and professionalism.

The table arrangements were beautifully done, with elegant settings that perfectly suited the occasion. The stage setup was also fantastic, making for a lovely focal point that impressed all our guests. (This was done by @ScrawlbyHafsah)

As for the food – it was absolutely perfect. Every dish was cooked to perfection, and we received so many compliments from our family and friends about how much they enjoyed their meals.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring everything ran smoothly and on time. Nothing was too much trouble, and their warm, welcoming attitude really added to the atmosphere of the day.

Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Al Bader exceeded all our expectations, and we’re so grateful to them for making our wedding day so special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stunning venue with amazing food and service!

I’ve only ever ordered delivery from this restaurant because I’m a student and I live a little ways away without a car, but this is some of the best food I’ve had since I’ve been in Birmingham. I’m from the USA and I’ve traveled to many different countries, including Jordan, where I ate a lot of food that is very similar to this, and I have to say this food is excellent. Very good prices for high quality, flavorful cooking. Highly, highly recommend

I recently visited this restaurant and ordered the platter for two, priced at £27 plus service charge.

Unfortunately, I didn’t find it to be good value for money. For the price, the portion size and overall quality fell short of expectations.

While the presentation was fine, the quantity and balance of dishes didn’t feel generous enough to justify the cost, especially once the service charge was added.

This might work better as a light sharing option, but as a main meal for two, it left us disappointed. A more substantial offering or fairer pricing would make the experience much more worthwhile.

In the picture the platter for two (there were two pitas not captured).

Visited Comptoir Libanais yesterday for lunch. It was packed so you definitely should book a table. We shared a mezze of vegan dishes. Falafels which were crispy but light and fluffy inside and perfectly spiced. Hommos silky smooth served with warm flatbread. Batata harra, amazing roast potatoes, crispy, slightly spiced with a kick of chilli. Tabbouleh, so tasty and zesty. Fattoush, a gorgeous salad with mint and crispy pitta bread and finally a garlic and Za’atar flatbread, if you have not tried Za’atar you should, it’s a wonderful mix of herbs and it was a taste sensation. We had drinks and it cost around £25 each and we were not hungry when we left. Service was great, very attentive but not pestering. My only critism was there was only one vegan dessert on offer, vanilla ice cream so we did not bother. We would definitely return and highly recommend. Great for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters.

I had a great experience in this restaurant. The food was really amazing. Everything tasted perfect and the portions of the food were good as well. Mezze platter was full of different flavors but each one was delicious with great quality. Main dishes were really tasty and nice. Nice taste, nice design and good to try new flavors. Dear Premier Inn Team,

I just wanted to take a moment to provide some feedback on a recent stay at your Birmingham New Street hotel.

During our visit, Jade was absolutely fabulous. Despite the hotel being extremely busy and clearly understaffed, she went above and beyond to make us feel like we were the only guests in the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she maintained a warm, genuine smile throughout, even under significant pressure.

The booking-in system was unfortunately not working properly, which caused long queues and understandably frustrated guests. However, Jade handled the situation with complete professionalism. She was courteous, polite, and ensured that everyone was looked after with the utmost care and consideration.

Jade is a true asset to Premier Inn, and you are very fortunate to have a team member who demonstrates such excellent customer service and knows exactly how to make guests feel welcome and valued.

Please pass on my sincere thanks and appreciation to Jade, she truly made a difference to our stay.

Kind regards, Kieth

I am a frequent traveller to Premier Inn hotels and their venue at New Street station ticks most of the boxes. It is actually on top of New Street station so you barely have to go outside before you’re there. we opted for an ‘Ultimate’ room but of course knowing that ‘ultimately’ can only go so far at Premier Inn. However, we got the top floor, the room was bigger, the Wifi quicker, and the bed was certainly softer. Service was efficient and friendly. We only had one towel for two people but we’re going to view this as an oversight (sort this out, PI).||A downside/upside of this hotel is it’s geography. Great for the station but at night there are a fair share (not too many) homeless people and at weekends a lot of nightclubs and hen parties about. I would definitely give the breakfast a hefty swerve as there are a load of cheaper options in the station. Good luck!

Our stay at this hotel was excellent. The location is perfect for train travellers. It is right off of New Street, with lots of restaurants, cafes and shops. Easy walking distance to Gas Station Basin, Jewelry Quarter, Bullring, etc. Crowded, high-energy area, but safe and quiet inside the hotel. Our room was larger than expected and very clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were very helpful overall, though some seemed happier about it than others. Wanted to try a halal spot that wasn’t South Asian food. Found this on google maps. The only reason the food wasn’t 5 stars was that the t bone steak was slightly too fatty for my liking. However all the other food we ordered was in point. It arrived quickly and was hot.

The staff were incredibly friendly and even looked after our baby whilst we ate!

The decor is very nice and sophisticated. Not a flower wall in sight!

Would come here again if in Birmingham

I had dinner here yesterday while being in Birmingham, had a sirloin steak with mushroom sauce & it was absolutely delicious! This went well with mashed potatoes and a portion of sweet potatoes on the side – just the way I’d like to have a steak. There was an additional sweet/savoury dark sauce (forgot the name) served which was honestly better than the mushroom sauce. Definitely going to stick with that sauce next time.
Best part- I Didn’t feel heavy on my way out, which means the portions are just right.
Tried out their coffee too, flat white, it was strong just what I needed.
The service was brilliant!
The staff was friendly and welcoming. Restaurant has a calming ambience, exquisite architecture, vibrant color themes, not so loud music which I definitely prefer. Worth a go when you’re in a mood for steaks in Birmingham.
No better grub than the Meat Club!

I found this place through Groupon and purchased the luxury afternoon tea for 2 people. It was exactly as it says on the tin… luxury! The food was good quality, especially the savoury selection. The sweets were good too, but for me, the club sandwich and beef slider was what set this tea set aside. The scones were the only set back as they were just ok, so there’s a little room for improvement

In terms of the decor and service, it was top notch. Nicely decorated restaurant, and we felt very well looked after by the staff from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.

Whilst I enjoyed the afternoon tea, next time I would like to try out their Sunday roast as pictures look really nice

Chicken steak for those who don’t like beef and it’s superb!
Steak was cooked to perfection, Mocktails were so refreshing and tasty!
Our server was lovely and prompt, it wasn’t busy so there was barely any wait time.
Every single thing on the plate tasted divine and it was enough to fill us up. The peppercorn sauce is the best I’ve ever had! It actually tasted like peppercorns and had a kick instead of being watered down.
The venue is very aesthetic and comfortable and they validate your parking! Just park in broadway plaza car park!

Frequently Asked Questions about Halal Restaurants in Birmingham

What does "Halal" mean in the context of food?

The term "Halal" originates from Islamic law and refers to what is permissible or lawful in Islam. Regarding food, it dictates a specific set of rules and guidelines regarding what ingredients and how food must be prepared. This includes a prohibition on pork and its derivatives, and the requirement that meat be slaughtered according to Islamic rites. The meaning extends beyond ingredients to encompass the entire preparation process.

Are there many Halal restaurants in Birmingham?

Yes, Birmingham boasts a significant number of Halal restaurants. Due to the city’s large Muslim population, there's a high demand for Halal food options. You can find them throughout the city, with concentrations in areas like Balsall Heath, Nechells, and Sparkbrook. A quick online search will reveal a diverse selection of cuisines catering to varying tastes.

How can I identify a Halal restaurant?

Identifying a genuinely Halal restaurant requires some due diligence. Look for a Halal certification logo displayed prominently on the premises or on the menu. These logos are issued by recognized Halal certification bodies who audit the restaurant’s practices. You can also check online reviews and community forums for recommendations and feedback regarding a restaurant's adherence to Halal standards. Don’t hesitate to ask questions directly to the restaurant staff.

What types of cuisines are available at Halal restaurants in Birmingham?

Halal restaurants in Birmingham offer a wide array of cuisines. You’ll find excellent Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, Middle Eastern, and Turkish food. Many restaurants also offer a fusion of cuisines, blending traditional recipes with contemporary twists. There's a great choice of options for those seeking something beyond these staples as well.

Do all Halal restaurants serve only meat?

No, not all Halal restaurants exclusively serve meat dishes. Many offer extensive vegetarian and vegan options that comply with Halal guidelines. These often feature fresh vegetables, legumes, and grains prepared without any non-Halal ingredients. Ensure any sauces or gravies are also confirmed to be Halal.

What are some common misconceptions about Halal food?

A common misconception is that Halal food tastes different or is somehow inferior to non-Halal food. This is simply untrue. The differences lie in the ingredients and preparation methods, not the flavour profile. Another misconception is that Halal restaurants are all the same, but the diversity of cuisines and styles proves otherwise.

Are there any Halal fast-food options available?

Yes, there are increasingly more Halal fast-food options available in Birmingham. Some major chains now offer Halal-certified menus or items, while numerous independent Halal fast-food outlets cater to those seeking a quick and convenient meal. Checking for the Halal certification mark is always recommended before ordering.

How can I be sure a restaurant’s Halal certification is valid?

Verifying a restaurant’s Halal certification involves checking the issuing body. Reputable Halal certification bodies have websites where you can confirm the validity of their certifications. Many certifications also have unique identification numbers that can be checked online. Look for the date of certification to ensure it's current.

What is the difference between a Halal certification and a Halal-friendly restaurant?

A restaurant with a Halal certification has undergone a thorough audit and adheres strictly to all Halal guidelines. A "Halal-friendly" restaurant might offer some Halal options but hasn’t necessarily undergone the same level of scrutiny or certification process. The difference lies in the level of assurance regarding the entire operation’s compliance.

Where can I find a list of Halal restaurants in Birmingham?

Several online resources compile lists of Halal restaurants in Birmingham. Popular apps and websites often include user reviews and ratings. Community groups and forums dedicated to Halal dining also offer recommendations and often provide up-to-date information on new restaurants and changes in Halal status.
