Mum and Dad stayed at the Kenrick centre in the emergency assessment unit from August 2024 to end of October 2024.Then Mum moved to the residential unit when Dad was admitted to hospital until they were reunited in different care home together in March 2025. The care on both units was very good and staff from the emergency assessment unit continued to interact with Mum when she came downstairs to the residential unit which was quite lovely for her.Mum settled well and had her favourite staff whom she trusted which was a great comfort for her. Mum seemed to embrace the activities and enjoyed the company. She kept herself busy walking around the large unit and staff kept her occupied as she missed my Dad and was adjusting to not being a full time carer for my Dad.She secretly enjoyed having her food cooked for her and being able to rest. I thought that the Kenrick centre was 95% perfect for Mum and wished that she could stay there permanently but they are not excepting any more residents. The staff are lovely at the Kenrick centre and Mum was very emotional when she left. I am very pleased with the care and support received and am sad that my parents are not able to stay there.I felt reassured that they were safe for the first time in a decade. The surrounding park and gardens are beautiful and we were looking forward to exploring them in the good weather. Parking can be a challenge during office hours but that is the same anywhere. Thank you.

My aunty looked wonderful within days of being here. Almost back to her old self. I wish she could've stayed permanently. A wonderful place with staff that show you they care.

I arrived to complete an assessment. The staff were so friendly and professional. I was greeted by two amazing care workers. Kathleen was superb, given offered me a coffee. Thank you. Kenrick Centre is very clean and it has a welcoming feel to it.

My mother stayed on the second floor for an enhanced assessement. Residents are just in their rooms with a complete lack of stimuli. It just feels like a large waiting room until a decision is made what the next steps are. They are not treated as residents (albeit even if they are temporary) and just someone undergoing an assessment. I think this is not helpful for residents who have left hospital frightened. They are not met with warmth or any sense of normality. Residents pacing up and down the corridors with sheer boredom. The experience can be very disruptive on an individual’s well-being. Staff at times I found impatient and only want compliant residents otherwise they are out.

We went to have some lunch. We had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Chicken and stuffing. Very tasty. Well presented. Table seating was basic but adequate. Staff were very nice. Disabled ♿ access.
