I have tried many masseuse around Birmingham but none compares to Cat!

Her massages may hurt because I have a lot of knots and tightness of the muscles but I leave knowing that my knots and tension have been released and I feel so much better! She is very knowledgeable and has this skill of working the muscles. She knows when to be gentle and when to be firm.

I receive frequent check-in texts, emails and member newsletters, this is something that a gym equivalent has never even come close to a level of this personalisation.
Whether you are old or new to crossfit, or fitness, you gotta try it, absolutely everything to gain here. I’ve never been a gym goer, ever. I’ve tried and failed many times, but I’ve always felt daunted, with conflicting information online and a bit muddled and intimidated in person.

MSC looks intimidating from the outside …But it really, really isn’t, even if you’re a total beginner with zero experience since school PE (I can testify).

Every workout has modifications. Focus is always on Progress NOT perfection here. The coaches care truly about your personal goals and have regular review sessions and check ins. You do not need to feel self conscious here.

My sciatica feels better. My mental health has improved tenfold. My stiffness from sitting down at my day job is gone. The coaches are incredibly motivating and skilled at planning every session so the hassle and confusion is taken out of every workout. You just need to show up. And if you don’t? Well, you’ll be greeted warmly the next time you show up, and accountability is great because you form bonds with fellow members. Everyone genuinely cares.

Booking sessions is intuitive and easy using an app. Expense wise, the more sessions you go to, the more value you get: but even twice a week you’re making large strides for your cardio and strength goals. It’s a small business and you’re not another random number. Quite the opposite!

During a really stressful period I’ve found this gym to focus my mind on what’s important, keeping myself healthy. Even if I miss a week or so, MSC is always there to cheer me on when I get back!

I can’t thank every coach of MSC enough: they are brilliant. I also want to thank their members for always being so friendly and encouraging. After every session, you will be getting a high five or fist bump and applause from everyone. It’s such a good vibe, can’t rate highly enough. There’s dumbbells both upstairs and downstairs, and there are loads of machines, some of which there are more than one of. It does get very busy, and at busy times, squat racks are often all taken but you can get on all the machines.

Cons – there’s only one con but it is a major con. I have never ever been to a gym with such bad etiquette. It’s very understaffed (which I understand is part of the business model) so staff never ever tell people off for this. Equipment is always all over the place because a lot of people don’t put it back and it’s often really messy with equipment that people aren’t using. The other day, I was next to a couple of lads using a barbell and some dumbbells and they literally got up and left them there.

The gym has a 10m track and a sled, sandbags etc. which is great. But unless you’re there early in the morning, you can forget about using it. It’s always full of people doing exercises that they don’t need to be on a track for, even though there’s a space for those exercises which barely has anyone there. If there’s only one person on the track, it’s easy to tell them to move, but it’s usually 4+ which makes it quite hard and staff don’t tell them either. Today, I wanted to use the track and there was someone doing bicep curls, two people doing yoga, and one person doing core exercises like sit-ups.
