So helpful l couldn’t get my wedding ring off due to arthritis. They gently cut it off for me. We have been married for 50 years in May so they melted my ring and my husbands ring together and made us both new rings. So pleased with them they also made my engagement ring a bit bigger. And just to finish off I had a beautiful eternity ring. They gave us photos of the gold being melted and made into the new ones. I would like to thank Sue for all her help and advice she was so nice.

Had such a positive experience at Hockley Jewellers – couldn’t recommend them enough! Great experience at Hockley Jewellers yesterday. Louise was so knowledgeable and helpful. You really felt like you were in expert hands. She gave me lots of options and I ended up with something even better than I had imagined. I thought we would need to go back to Birmingham at a later date when it had been resized but I was delighted that it could be done there and then. An hour later, I was heading out with my new ring. I would like to share my thoughts about my visit to H Samuel’s yesterday. A gentleman assisted me, and he was extremely helpful. Although I wasn’t able to purchase the watch during my visit, I definitely plan to buy it in the coming days. I was truly impressed with the way he showed me the watches I asked about. I have never experienced such excellent customer service in the UK before, especially since I am new here. I sincerely hope that someone sees this review and recognizes the gentleman’s outstanding service, perhaps with a raise or some form of appreciation.

Went into the store today as I had purchased a watch online and wanted it adjusted as it was loose. I was helped by a young lady named Dyjonia she checked the fitting on my wrist then adjusted by removing 3 links. No questions, no attitude just good old customer service with a smile. Granted the store wasn’t very busy for a Friday afternoon however it was nice to be in and out of the store within 10 minutes. I know where to go for my next purchase. Keep up the good work.

I purchased a pair of earrings from H. Samuel last week and clearly asked the staff if my wife could exchange them later if she wanted. They assured me it wouldn’t be a problem. However, when we came back today, they refused to exchange the item, completely going back on their word.

Even worse, some of the staff showed clear signs of discrimination and very poor attitude toward foreign customers. It’s extremely disappointing and unacceptable in 2025.

Many of their customers, including myself, come from diverse backgrounds, and businesses like H. Samuel should remember that our support is one of the reasons they’re still operating.

Very poor experience overall. I won’t be shopping here again and cannot recommend it to others.

I never thought I’d write a review for a jewellery shop but after visiting Sonnys today I had to. We were served by Adam who was really friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and he was both personable and knowledgeable. We left with earrings, a necklace and a bracelet as well as a couple of rolls of Love Hearts which was a lovely touch.

Chloe was also very helpful and explained their bespoke design services which we are looking forward to coming back for.

I bought some jewellery from them a few weeks ago. When I was there with my wife and a friend, the customer service was okay. We managed to settle on a final price after few negotiation. That said, I did find it a bit concerning that the receipt they provided didn’t include their business address or look like a proper invoice. It felt a little off, especially considering you’d expect a formal receipt from any reputable business, regardless of whether you paid by cash or card.

What’s been bothering us more though is how they treat my wife whenever she visits with her female friend. Every time they go, the staff who are mainly males seem unusually rude—and during their last visit, the behaviour was completely out of line when they tried to negotiate a price for a ring.

This isn’t how a business should operate. Respect should be shown to everyone male or female and regardless of whether a purchase is made. Common courtesy shouldn’t depend on closing a sale.

Also, common sense should tell you that your main customers are likely to be women. If you can’t be professional and show some courtesy perhaps this isn’t the trade for you

Matthew has helped design both my wedding band and a ring stack to honour the birth of our child. On both occasions, Matthew took the design inspiration I gave him and helped turn it from a dream into reality. He seems to instinctively get what you want to create. For the half eternity ring, I wanted to use my dad’s wedding ring that I’d been given and he talked through all the options for using it to create the new stack. He sourced exactly the right colour pink spinels from a photo. I felt confident that the end result would be what I had envisaged as Matthew had talked through all of the options for the settings. I am thrilled with the rings and would absolutely recommend Matthew and Jq diamonds – brilliant service and top quality results.

I had amazing time at JQ diamond In Birmingham. The agent that help us (Surinder) was amazing and had a great customer service experience, she took her time in explaining everything into details which helped us decide the right ring and then followed it up with a message to see how the engagement went, that for me was a top notch customer service. We went to a lot of jewellery shops but JQ Diamonds was by far the best. Lovely experience in a setting which felt special, helpful and knowledgeable people and the best bit was my huge oval diamond trilogy ring which I am over the moon with. Also, it had to be resized and the team at Aardvark were really helpful with this too. They mentioned it might have to be recast as the size difference was more than 3 sizes but did offer the option of resizing (they did advise that the ring could end up looking oval rather than round) which I opted for. But when I received the ring about 10 days later, it looked perfectly round and fit my finger wonderfully.

I ordered an engagement ring online. I’d had consultations at other jewelers already, so I had a good idea of what I wanted in terms of design and gemstone size/shape/colour. One of the rings that was up for sale was to my liking. The team at Aardvark were able to create a ring from scratch based on the one I liked with a stone of my liking (ethically sourced green sapphire that was sold by Aardvark). Overall the process was seamless and the ring was received about 8 weeks later to the day. Fantastic Comms throughout – I now have a very happy fiancé – she is in love with the ring.

I was greeted by Baseem who was very professional and polite which made me want to wait for him as he had customers with him already and seems to be very popular. I was pleasantly surprised at how professional Bas was and how knowledgeable he was. My girlfriend and I had an idea of what we were looking for but after speaking with Bas who kindly and patiently explained all the things to look out for when buying diamonds. I knew he had vast experience from the way he handled us from start to finish. Due to his customer service and knowledge we bought an engagement ring and also our wedding bands. The service he provided was professional and second to none. I cannot recommend using diamond heaven and especially Bas enough! Excellent experience and I look forward to picking up my rings and using them again.

So thrilled to have come by this jewellers. They spotted us peering in the window (we had our dog with us) and promptly invited us in. Our dog received a lovely fuss from the wonderful team. The staff working there went above and beyond to create my dream ring based on one I had seen abroad the previous year. I couldn’t be happier with the result. In stark contrast to the other reviews, we received incredible service and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. We were actually recommended by a friend. We planned to visit on the Saturday morning so I first called up to enquire if we needed to book an appointment. A lovely lady answered the phoned and advised no need to book but do arrive early as they get very busy on Saturdays. We arrived for the opening time and were the only ones in the shop. Sandeep advised us what was best for our budget and the style I wanted. He was incredibly friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I was very happy with the size of diamond we were able to have for our budget. My ring was then made to order and I collected 4 weeks later. The ring is absolutely beautiful, I still cant believe its mine. It was presented in a lovely box with warranty card and GIA card. Thank you to everyone at Marlows, see you again soon!

We needed a wedding and engagement ring for myself at short notice for our elopement wedding. After doing some research, we visited Marlow’s at the Jewellery Quarter as they had some great reviews. We had a great experience choosing the rings and they were sized and ready to take home on the same day!

Came to Marlow’s while shopping around the JQ for a custom ring. After visiting a large number of stores we found Marlow’s to have the best customer service by far. The team was friendly and smiling from the moment we were welcomed through the door. Kay was instrumental at pulling out our wants even when we thought we weren’t sure what we were after. She professionally showed us all custom options and was patient while we tried different band and stone combinations. We decided to buy a ring from here and love it. The craftsmanship is perfect and they offer free resizing at any point post purchase. Next time we are looking for beautiful jewellery we will make sure Marlow’s (& Kay) are our first and only stop! Terrible customer service today. The lady opening the door was lovely, but the woman at the counter had such a rude manner. We were looking for engagement rings and asked to look at a bigger diamond and she refused to show us, we asked for a smaller band three times and she didn’t respond. I then asked to look at wedding bands and she refused to show us until we had our engagement ring sorted, how can I choose without looking at both? She made a comment about being able to fit a budget but we didn’t say what our budget was at all. Also told us there’s no point looking at rings if we’re not going to buy today. We just left at that point, won’t be going back.

Lovely shop , great after sales service and the staff are always so nice. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks to Mariane for her help this morning, I enjoyed my visit. Always worth the drive down from Nottingham.
Another 5 star visit to the store today ( 3/7/25) came to discuss part exchanging my original ring for a new one. Sandeep helped me choose a beautiful new ring and cleaned and resized another ring I had bought there previously. When I returned to collect them a couple of hours later he made a wonderful gesture. I won’t say what it was but I was a bit of an emotional wreck. You would never receive that sort of customer service from one of the High Street jewellers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Me and my family had viewed a lovely engagement and wedding band set at Marlow’s which we liked and received a quote for, so we went down again a week later with more family members to view these rings together in person…
We did go to another shop nearby beforehand and used Marlow’s quote to try and get a better price for this set elsewhere which I’m sure 99% of customers do when ring shopping in JQ… But we went back to Marlow’s with an open mind and weren’t averse from purchasing this set from there.
We went down to Marlow’s to try and get a better quote and find more info about this set. We were warmly greeted by a tall gentleman, and we were quickly seen by a lovely lady (so we thought) Sarah. We were received with warmth by Sarah, but this was soon about to change… We enquired more about this quote but her attitude and customer service to us beggared belief.
Simple questions like ‘In MM, what are the width of these rings?’ were met with chuckles and a response of ‘I don’t know, you tell me’. A question of ‘what diamond cut is this ring?’ was asked, and the response received was ‘I have absolutely no idea, love’. The overall tone was condescending and dismissive. She was constantly smirking at us, treating us like second class citizens, perhaps it had something to do with our South Asian ethnicity? Or perhaps she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, I have no idea.
Quite patronising responses for such simple questions. We were all quite gobsmacked by the humiliating and disrespectful way in which we were spoken to, which was a complete change from how me and my family were received when we came a week before.
I decided that I did not want to spend a penny in this shop due to the horrendous customer service we received and took out business elsewhere. We visited several other shops in the Quarter and this was the only negative experience we had in the Quarter…
