We were welcomed by Louise at the counter, who then fussed over to me to hearts delight. After showing me a variation of what I had asked for, a few of what I hadn’t considered and a variety of settings in which to set a stone, I kept getting drawn back to this beauty! Lucky enough my husband hadn’t managed to make his escape in this time!
Although it was on closing time Louise managed to get the ring resized and polished to perfection ensuring I got to take it home with me that day. I’m so absolutely thrilled with my gorgeous ring! The packing & presentation was very tasteful & just added to its glory.
I can’t commend both the service and advice I received from Louise sufficiently. It was an absolute pleasure and am sure I will return on my next trip into shiny land!

Failed to provide an email receipt
The receipt provided was torn when attempting to staple it by the member of staff. This meant that the Bullring store would not accept the receipt.
Then state that the code for the ring on the receipt was incorrect. That they couldn’t find the ring.
When the new receipt was requested from the Southampton store the employee admitted to making a mistake with the email address, leading to having to repeat the request for a receipt. This was then sent as a poor quality photo.
They then stated that the ring would have to be resized, as they couldn’t find it in stock. The hitch? The company they use for resizing is shut for a two week break. I’d bought the ring in November. Didn’t think this would be an issue, and they state they can only use this client. The ring therefore was predicted to take 3 weeks. By then, my fiancé will have left the country.
If anyone wants to buy something as important as an engagement ring, go to a company with good customer service, and competent employees. H Samuel does not have this.

Taking it back to the shop, they soon contacted me stating it was user fault, and quoted 90% of the original ring cost to repair (even though the diamond and ring were saved).
To get another opinion, we sent it to another jeweller in Hatton garden, London, where they have quoted less than £60 to repair.
Unbelievable service, will be escalating further through formal routes to help protect other customers from this trap.

We travelled quite some way to visit this specific store, to speak with the gemstone specialist, Sebastian, as I was looking for a very specific type of emerald engagement ring.
He explained everything you could ever want to know about gemstones and more specifically, emeralds. We then talked about budget, what I wanted the ring to look like, and he got to work on the international gemstone database to source out the highest quality emerald he could find me.
All I can say is that putting my trust in Seb resulted in the most perfect engagement ring I could have imagined. We went for a 2 carat Colombian emerald that had been sourced over 15 years ago, and was in impeccable condition, on an 18ct gold mount and 2 x 0.5ct diamonds either side of the centerpiece stone.
There was no nasty bartering on price, Seb made me feel like he was trying his very very best to make my budget go as far as possible, and that he was on my side as opposed to being forced to buy by a salesman.
When we went to pick up, I was so overwhelmed when I finally got my hands on the ring. 11/10 throughout the process.
Seb was passionate about his trade, charming in his manor and I will be straight back to him whenever me or any member of my family need high quality Jewellery.

From start to finish, Mitchel and Co have been fantastic. My partner purchased my dream engagement ring and it is perfect.
